Creaks came out on Steam last year on July 22, and since then we've been endlessly grateful for your support. Creaks is having its first anniversary this month and it's time to celebrate it with you with a little fan art contest. Here's a personal invitation video from the designers of Creaks, Radim Jurda and Jan Chlup!
Creaks are the deadly monsters that lurk in the dark corners of our houses. But once you trap them under a beam of light, they transform into a harmless everyday object - a piece of furniture, a music instrument or maybe a piece of modern technology? Youâve already met a few of them in our game, but now itâs up to you to use your imagination and design your own Creak!
Every Creak has two forms - one that wonât hurt you, and one that you donât want to touch. Your task is to design a new Creak in both forms and put them into one picture. Will you design your own complete level, or would you rather make a little comic strip? Is it going to be a very dangerous Creak, or just a misunderstood supernatural being? Use any tools or techniques you want - there are no limits to your imagination!
We encourage you to be creative. Please do not copy othersâ ideas, and do not copy characters from the game.

Once weâve gathered all your works, weâll take a week to carefully consider which we like the best. After we go through all the submissions, we will make a selection of semifinalists. Then we will ask the Discord community to vote and select the Discord Community Award. At the same time Radim and Jan will choose 5 more winners. The final winners will be announced on August 10. Creaks Collector's Box and The Art of Creaks are now available!
After several months of hard work, we're happy to let you know that both Creaks Collector's Box and The Art of Creaks are finally shipping worldwide!
The Collector's Box is limited to 1000 hand-numbered units, each delivered with a certificate of authenticity signed by the game's authors Radim Jurda and Jan Chlup. When you open the custom-made box, you'll find 'The Art of Creaks' 174-page art book featuring artwork and design sketches from different stages of development. But it's not just pictures to look at - reading Radim's and Jan's words, you'll learn about the various joys and challenges they had to face throughout the 8-year long development. Fellow indie developers may even find bits of inspiration and motivation within these pages.
While the art book (which is also available separately) is clearly the brightest star of this edition, there's much more to it - for example, the two exclusive metal pins will hopefully look great on your suit. Or anywhere else. Then there's the four lithographs portraying some of the interactive paintings from the game, a double-sided poster with the mansion reimagined and painted by Jan Chlup, as well as the original soundtrack by Hidden Orchestra on CD. And a Steam key, of course.

First Look at 'The Art of Creaks' Deluxe Art Book, and more
Did anybody ask for an art book? Vinyl? T-shirts? Collector's edition?
Well, if you did ask about either of those things, here's some good news - we've got something for you! For the past few months, we've been working on a bunch of physical items to accompany Creaks, and it's about time to introduce them to you. Let's start with the latest stuff!
The Art of Creaks
Fresh out of the printer, this is 'The Art of Creaks', a new deluxe art book featuring concept art, sketches, design concepts, final visuals as well as insight from the creators on 180 pages of quality paper. The format is 27x27 cm square, and the English version is available for pre-order via our merch store. This one starts shipping next week!
Creaks Collector's Box
(Limited to 1000 units)
Another thing that starts shipping next week is the limited Creaks Collector's Box. This big box includes the above-mentioned art book, two exclusive metal pins, the soundtrack by Hidden Orchestra on CD, four lithographs, a high-quality double-sided poster, a Steam key, and a certificate of authenticity, signed and hand-numbered by the creators. Also available in our merch store with new photos coming in the next few days.
Creaks Soundtrack 2LP
If you, like us, can't get enough of Hidden Orchestra's music for Creaks, take a look at this precious light-blue 2LP (180 grams) featuring 15 diverse tracks on two discs. Accompanied by 6 art prints by the game's creators Radim Jurda and Jan Chlup and FLAC download code, packed in a velvet finish gatefold cover.
Creaks T-Shirt
About a year and a half ago, one of our artists Eva MarkovĂĄ designed the T-shirt for Machinarium's 10th anniversary. Eva was kind enough to help us design yet another shirt, using some of the game's most prominent features and characters and picturing them in a distinct minimalistic style - just the right thing for a fashionable T-shirt! Available in unisex, ladies and kids sizes.

New Creaks update adds save slot selection
A new Creaks update (Windows & Mac) just landed on Steam!
Aside from the usual bug fixes, there's a new feature for those who'd like to use multiple save slots on just one Steam profile. With this update, you can choose from three separate save slots at the new selection screen. These saves are shared across Windows and Mac platforms if you have Steam Cloud enabled.
You'll be able to access the slot selection screen either at startup or from the main menu.

Only 2 days left to try Happy Game Demo!
While weâre working our hardest to bring you the full experience as soon as we can, we wanted to share a little sneak peek with you in advance. Happy Game Demo landed on Steam last week and will be available on Windows and Mac only until TOMORROW February 9. You can download it now at the game's store page:

Happy Game is a psychedelic horror adventure that departs significantly from Amanitaâs charming, family-friendly style. This time, players will find themselves playing as a little boy who experiences a terrible nightmare, passing through three unique worlds filled with playful tasks and puzzles. He wonât be all alone on this trip, though - there are many smiley faces to meet, adorable bunnies to slice with a guillotine greet, or an elusive football to chase. The game is directed by Czech artist, animator, and designer JaromĂr PlachĂ˝, whose teams previously created Botanicula (2012) and CHUCHEL (2018).

In other news, for those of you who enjoyed the game's diverse music by Hidden Orchestra - the original soundtrack on translucent blue double vinyl is now available, and along with that, we've released a little thing called Creaksbox - a FREE standalone music player for the adaptive soundtrack. It will never sound exactly the same twice, and it has no fixed duration. Variations are randomly chosen, with many different conditions and probabilities generating hundreds and thousands of variables, which creates a âliving soundtrackâ that feels fresh every time you hear it.
