Nemesis Content Update

Newly Added Maker Tiles:



  • Drago Boss - The final nemesis, does everything it can to destroy you.
  • Drago Boss Block - Can only be broken after the Drago Boss has been defeated.
  • Wall Gap - Removes Room Wall tiles to create open gaps between rooms.
  • Bubble Containers (2) - Can hold Upgrades inside, and can be popped by any attack.
  • Elevating Block (2) - Toggles between falling down or floating up when attacked.
  • Floating Grapple Box - Like the normal Grapple Box, but floats in water.
  • Basic Jump Upgrade - If present in the World, cannot jump from the ground until collected.

Fixes and Improvements:


Features:

  • Added general support for Steam Deck.
  • Added Play Mode support for Xbox and Steam controllers.

Adjustments:

  • Reorganized some upgrade icons on the Play Mode HUD.
  • Moved the Health Upgrade location in the Starting Items and Maker Tiles selections.
  • Added more details to the Climbing Surface's Maker Tile description.
  • Increased the time that notification boxes stay visible on screen.
  • Added simple idle animations and Honey Hive animations to player character.

Bug Fixes:

  • Enemies spawned from Dispensers (eg Pillbug bombs) no longer prevent breaking Gray blocks.
  • Fixed White/Gray Block properties not scrolling correctly.
  • Fixed a bug where Honey Bombs would not explode when hitting a Boss.
  • Fixed a bug where Boss Blocks would sometimes not behave properly in Maker Mode.

Boss Content Update

Newly Added Maker Tiles:



  • Raptor Boss - Zips around and aggressively attacks when in range.
  • Ptero Boss - Flies around and attacks with Eggs.
  • Stego Boss - Walks about and fires its Spikes and Plates.
  • Plesio Boss - Swims around and attacks with homing Fishbones.
  • Boss Blocks (5) - Can only be broken after the corresponding Boss has been defeated.
  • Basic Shot Upgrade - If present in the World, cannot shoot Bees until collected.
  • Rapid Shot Upgrade - Fire Bee projectiles more rapidly.

Fixes and Improvements:


Adjustments:

  • 'Block (Brown)' tiles are renamed to 'Solid Block' tiles.
  • 'Switch' tiles are moved and grouped together in Maker Tile Selection.
  • DPad controls added (Note: controllers are not officially supported yet).
  • Tweaked projectile speeds and firing rates.

New Fixes in this version:

  • Fixed the Play HUD sometimes displaying incorrectly on start.
  • Fixed Starting Items not saving properly after using the 'None' button.
  • Fixed some Enemies not despawning properly when falling out from a room.
  • Fixed Rooms sometimes taking on the Water Level of their neighbors.
  • Fixed merged Blocks sometimes disconnecting when other objects run into them.

Fixes from 0.10.X patches:

  • Player controls now stay responsive while an Enemy is being hit.
  • Upgrades now cannot be collected while in the process of respawning.
  • Checkpoints now cannot be lit while in the process of respawning.
  • Stackable Starting Items are no longer duplicated in New Game mode.


Mobility Content Update

Newly Added Maker Tiles:



  • Honey Grapple Upgrade - Fire a grappling shot that pulls you to grapple points.
  • Grapple Surface (3) - Grapple points for the Honey Grapple shot.
  • Grapple Box - Box that can be pulled toward you using a grappling shot.
  • Climbing Gloves Upgrade - Traverse up Climbing Surfaces.
  • Climbing Surface - Surfaces that can be climed with Climbing Gloves.
  • Wall-Jump Gloves Upgrade - Jump off from walls once per jump.
  • Frog Enemy - Stands in one spot and shoots flies at player if close enough.
  • Bomb Dispenser - Spawns and drops enemy Pillbug bombs.
  • Honeycomb Health Upgrade - Stackable upgrade that increases max health.
  • Shot Blocks (9) - Blocks that are only affected by projectile shots.
  • Bomb Blocks (9) - Blocks that are only affected by bombs.
  • Melee Blocks (9) - Blocks that are only affected by melee attacks.

Fixes and Improvements:



  • Starting Items set in World Playtest now carry over as starting items in the generated Play file.
  • Updated physics when player character takes damage.
  • 'Falling Block' tiles are renamed to 'Box' tiles.
  • Other assorted bug fixes.


Underwater Content Update

Newly Added Maker Tiles:



  • Water Level Generators (2) - Sets the default water level of the room.
  • Water Level Switches (3) - Sets the water level of the room when hit.
  • Bodysuit Upgrades (4) - Protects against the corresponding environmental hazard while in water.
  • Swimming Bodysuit Upgrade - Negates movement restrictions while underwater.
  • Swimming Flippers Upgrade - Allows infinite jumps while underwater.
  • Fish Enemy - Swims horizontally in water, flounders on land.
  • Small Shark Enemy - Swims around in water, motionless on land. Chases after player if nearby.
  • Jellyfish Enemy - Swims vertically in water, sticks to one spot on land.
  • Environment Signs (7) - Environment indicators that hang from the background (including Water).
  • Half Ramps (4) - Ramps that incline at 30 degrees.
  • Raised Half Ramps (8) - Half-ramps that are offset by half a block, either with a gap or filled.

Fixes and Improvements:



  • Added underwater behavior for all enemy types.
  • Increased damage taken from Bats from 10 to 20.
  • On the Pause Map, added options to view environments and water levels of each discovered room.
  • On the Pause Map, replaced cyan borders with magenta borders to indicate checkpointed rooms.
  • On the Pause Map, replaced flashing effect with cyan border to indicate the current room.
  • Tweaked the Maker Mode GUI layout.
  • Other assorted bug fixes.

Environment Content Update

Newly Added Maker Tiles:



  • Environment Generators (6) - Gives the room a hazardous environment that either does damage or prevents visibility while in the room.
  • Environment Armor Upgrades (6) - Protects against the corresponding environmental hazard.
  • Polarity Blocks (2) and Polarity Switches (3) - Blocks and switches that operate on "on/off" logic.
  • Arrow Signs (8) - Directional arrows that silently hang from the background.

Fixes and Improvements:



  • Starting Items selection now allows selecting 0-8 of each stackable upgrade (instead of only allowing 0 or 8).
  • Starting Items selection now has an option to select All or None of the upgrades through a single click.
  • Tweaked the Demo World.
  • Tweaked the Maker Mode GUI layout.
  • Other assorted bug fixes.

Freezing Enemies Bug Fix

Fixed a bug that sometimes causes enemies to freeze during gameplay.

DRM Fix

Fixed an issue with Steam DRM.
