update 1.1.0.8 notes
it's available now!
Update 1.1.0.8
1.1.0.8 is a huge step forward, in this new update, almost every single visual effect in the game has been either modified or entirely redesigned.
since update 1.1.0.5 I had a goal to elevate the immersion of the gameplay experience even more. challenging to stay true to the anime/cartoon stylized looks of the games. and build on top of the solid foundation that already exists.
below are only a few examples of what was changed during 1.1.0.7 and 1.1.0.8
missile engine fire visual effects before (left) and after (right)
one of the challenges in the design was to keep things elegant yet optimized enough for every single bullet or missile in crossfar is an individual entity with properties unique to itself. so we needed to make sure thousands of projectiles flying around in space would not cause any performance issues. and we accomplished this by using new techniques to render necessary effects instead of using complex and excessive meshes or lights. this resulted in achieving the stylized aesthetics we were hoping for yet at a lower GPU and CPU cost than it took before.
so not only crossfar after 1.1.0.8 will look better in every single configuration (low-medium-high-ultra), but it will RUN smoother on almost every relatively modern machine you are using to play this game.
here are a few other examples of visual effects.
the new EMP visual effect (WIP)
the next two images are zoomed in 5X in order to show smaller details. NEW main weapon muzzle effects
a single projectile looking much more detailed than before, animated and made out of more components that are much cheaper to render.
new warp gate effects
1.1.0.8 also includes changes to the sound design of the game. although these changes are not as many as aesthetics go. but the few audio cues that were refined or entirely remade in cases add a better feeling to the events they represent in the game universe than their previous versions.
the main menu was also changed in this update. it now includes multiple live environment scenes as a background that changes every time you log in to the game.
above all maybe one of the most valued changes that 1.1.0.8 brings, is a whole new gameplay element, which allows the player to see what is happening behind the front line every time they respawn. choosing your next drone now happens inside a fully interactive 3d environment far behind those warp gates where the fleet is providing reinforcements to send into battle. with a variety of fantastic animations and effects and sound design, it feels just as good as the gameplay does when browsing your options between different classes.
it is safe to say after 1.1.0.8 we achieve the goal to make what already exists in-game perfect and now we can focus on creating new content for this game.
thank you for your love and support. Kav.Omidi

there were a lot of wishlists so we decided to make wishes come true this week! thanks for showing interest in crossfar! and we hope to see you in the game.
thrown into a 5v5 space ace battle. but the battle is not over killing enemy players. it's about breaching a gate. the game is very in-depth and there are numerous tactics and strategies employed and improvised by players to go through the enemy gate in Crossfar. controls are designed to perfection and combat experience elevates your spirit. The visual effects and sound design of the game are made to be more than satisfactory. the game is played at ecstatic speed. so we are using a very unique latency compensation algorithm that helps make your multiplayer experience as responsive as possible. if you are looking for an emotional roller coaster of a PVP game. this is the game for you. give yourself time to learn the game and give yourself a chance to experience something new and well-crafted.
