A lot of time has passed since the last update. Unfortunately, I ran into some difficulties, and there was no time left to finalize the game. But now most of the problems are over, and again it's time for patches and new bugs. In the current patch, the game has been upgraded to a newer version of the game engine. This should improve fps, get rid of some annoying limitations, and add a few new bugs. With the latter, I would need help. The new patch is available as a beta version, to switch to it you need to right-click on the game in the Steam library, select the property item, then the beta version and then the open test. I will be grateful for bug reports on any new bugs, as well as long-forgotten old ones.
I highly recommend making a backup of your save files before running this version. You can find them here: Win+R and enter %LocalAppData%\\CrossWorldsEscape\\Saved\\SaveGames
And now the actual patchnots: the game has been transferred to a newer version of the game engine Slightly changed the visual component of weather effects Changed some sounds related to weather Changed lighting at night Added new weather option - thunderstorm with lightning
A new building has been introduced - pillars. So far, they can be installed on foundations, other pillars and inter-storey floors. It is possible to install inter-stage floors on the pillars. Now it is possible to build larger rooms.
Added fires. Inaccurate handling of fire can lead to a VERY rapidly flaring fire. To extinguish the fire, you need to go to it and press the action button - by default, E. If you have flasks with water in your inventory, then you painlessly extinguish the nearest source of fire. If there is no water, then you will burn yourself and receive damage. At this point, you can ignite most of the wooden objects you have created. NPC buildings are an exception. They use special fireproof wood. To set something on fire, it is enough to shoot a fiery arrow. Later, other options for the emergence of fires and methods of extinguishing them will be added.
Hunt for lags
A beta version of the game has been added to the beta brunches section. To activate it, you need to right-click on the game in the Steam library -> properties -> Beta versions-> Opentest At the moment, her only purpose is to find out if I managed to fix a bug with constant freezes.
ATTENTION! There are several visual bugs in this branch, and maybe more significant. For the test, create a new save, otherwise you risk losing progress in your main game.
Patch notes v1.0.1.0
Added translation into French. For this we would like to thank Nicolas Chedru
Added support for the Ansel plugin from NVIDIA. Using the keyboard shortcut alt + f2, you can take advanced screenshots with various effects and filters, including pan and stereoscopic. To do this, you just need to have an NVIDIA graphics card with the latest drivers. Some systems are affected by weather on Venus and Mars, which makes this feature unavailable
NPCs will try to get ashore if they are in the water and will not attack from the water
Reduced the distance at which the NPCs will pursue their goal
Now waving a torch, you can with some chance scare wild animals that you did not attack
Now in order to activate the bed you need to hold the action button for several seconds
Fixed erroneous tooltips about building destruction instead of picking it up
Now cages for animals can be built on the second floor
Fixed bug with getting old high quality tools from found skeletons
Now you can hide the interface with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Z
Added the ability to empty flasks with dirty water. To do this, drag it over the edge of the inventory
The sun rises again in the east and sets in the west
Hit sounds added when a player attacks the boss
Some NPCs will viciously growl, grunt, and hiss as they attack
Fixed some animations
The optimization of the NPC navigation system has been carried out. Perhaps this will improve performance on some systems
I'm currently looking for the cause of a bug with a sharp drop in performance among some users, so a few more small patches will be released in the coming days. Unfortunately, I could not repeat this bug, so I will count on your feedback after each patch.
CrossWorlds: Escape — release
Today, after three years of development, we decided to release the game. We would like to thank all those who supported us, played our full of bugs game and helped make it better.
Release of the game does not mean that work on the game stops. At the moment, only the first chapter of history has been completed. Its continuation, as well as further development of the game, will be available a little later and will be released as a DLC. Everyone who bought the game during early access, will get this DLС for free. The online game is still in test mode, and is not a high priority for now.
We hope for your further support and assistance in creating not just a game, but a place where every traveler will find his home.

A little news
I had some problems that caused such a delay in releasing the patch. The next patch will be released tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
As you may know, previously the game was developed by 2 people, but due to lack of time the second developer decided to leave the team. Since we have the same copyright for the game, but different opinions about its further development, we came to the next decision: 1. In the near future I will bring the storyline to an important transition point, where the first chapter will be completed, and the game will be released and out of the early access status. 2. Further development of the game will continue in the form of dlc. This dlc will be free for those who buy and activate the game before leaving the early access status. 3) Simultaneously with the release the price of the game will be reduced in order to compensate the cost of dlc.
A little bit about further plans to develop the game. Here is a small list of what I plan to add initially:
Initially, the emphasis will be on expanding the number of buildings. Most likely, some type of energy will be added to the new buildings, which will automate the primary processing of resources.
The number of plants available for cultivation will be increased, in particular the addition of medicinal plants and food for pets.
In addition, the number of possible animals will be increased and the housing system will be slightly modified.
The production system will also change, not all recipes will be available initially. Some new recipes will have to be found in the world, some will have to be invented.
Something like a cart will be added that will allow more items to be moved.
At the moment there is almost no difference between wooden and stone buildings, but in time your enemies will realize that the tree burns perfectly...
And last but not least, there will probably be new characters to play with. They will have their own features, skills, weaknesses and strengths. Unfortunately, they are likely to be inaccessible to the online game.
Speaking of online gaming, it currently takes about 70% of development time, and most of the new features are likely to be unavailable when you play in a cooperative game. This will be corrected in time.
