Christmas Sale, Sunside Games Bundle and Beta 1.30 of Abducted

A lot happening here so I'll be quick:

Abducted Beta 1.30

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSXkfxymd7U&feature=youtu.be
Coming up in the next Beta of Abducted will be new levels and sequences for the very beginning and very ending of the game. For spoiler reasons I won't show the ending here, its up to you if you want to see that in the next build. But the above video shows progress on the new introduction to Abducted. Hope you like it!

This goes along with new, more final in-game training and the first Chapter of the game will be getting revisions based on that. The goal at this point is to (largely) finish out the art and content of the game, as I've said before all gameplay chapters are in place. The vast majority of the game is there. What's needed are the sort of final revisions, story glue and bug fixes that will take this project out of Beta into final. This is all part of making that happen.

Bundles and Christmas Sale

I'm now taking advantage of Bundles and you might have noticed that on my game pages. Basically you can buy Crow, Abducted and the Abducted soundtrack together at any time for 30% off. That bundle discount will run all the time, year round.

Crow and Abducted are also participating in the Steam Christmas sale, and the Christmas discount adds to the bundle discount if you get them all together.

The Future

I'm at a point now where I'm giving serious consideration to the next game (even a bit of early pre-dev) and I'm really excited to continue the story of Abducted with a sequel. I'd like to also produce a Crow 2 in the Unreal engine, and take everything done there to the next level. So I have some decisions about where this all goes next, but my goal is always to give you a really interesting and unique game to play.

Anyway thanks for reading, hope you're enjoying the games and progress. Have a great Christmas!

Abducted updates and Crow Xmastime

Work continues on Abducted, this quick video shows some of the upcoming changes in Beta 1.16. The Glyphs in the Dreamscape are changing to be more visible and more meaningful. The visuals are also getting cleaned up, with gameplay objects being more obvious and the overall Dreamscape look being easier on the eyes. The goal is to keep it good looking and stylized while also making it easy to read.

There are also some significant changes with how Manipulate works and how Dreamscape puzzles affect this ability. Before, solving the Dreamscape puzzle would be the solution to automatically open the door. Instead, solving the puzzle will expand your Manipulate ability to alter the state of all objects of that type. In terms of the story, you're expanding your capabilities permanently with the Arm. And just like moving Pylons where you can move the position forward or backwards, you can change the state of that object forward or backwards at will.

Crow is in Christmas mode right now. Candy canes, presents, Santa hats are everywhere (even the bosses wear them). Here's some snippets from the first boss fight in Crow, check it out if you haven't seen the game before or its been a while since you played. Crow is a great little adventure game with some unique twists on choice that affect the story, gameplay and outcomes. The choices you make even affect how the final boss fight is played!

If you haven't seen what's going on with the game lately please do. All of our current development effort is going into Abducted, it's running on the latest Unreal 4 code (4.17.2) and has been getting a ton of great updates and new features. In many ways its surpassed the old version of the game that was running on a different engine, and even though its not finished yet there's a lot of game here to see and play.

I encourage you to at least check out the slew of recent updates and support the game right now. The goal is to create a great, new adventure game that will surprise you and take you in unexpected directions. And we promise to do it with a great engine and even greater technology running at its core.

Thanks for taking a look and supporting us if you do. As always, have fun!

Progress on Abducted (our other game)

Abducted Unreal 4 test footage

Abducted in Unreal test footage

Abducted is coming to Unreal 4 and today I'd like to share with you some of the WIP gameplay footage. This doesn't just improve on the game, it gives Abducted new capabilities and potential.

The new control scheme will be a true 3rd person experience, like many PC games and there will still be hints of the old camera system (where it will take control to show you the scene more broadly). Abilities are being redesigned and rethought based on the feedback of players who have tried the beta. Elements of the story that weren't possible to produce in the old engine will now be possible in Unreal 4.

This change will also allow us to make a Mac version for the first time. And there will be a VR experience version of the game, compatible with Vive, Gear VR and others.

Get Abducted on Steam! On sale through March 6!

Balance on Greenlight
