Hello, mercenaries. We hope you are having fun with CROWZ.
We are here to inform you about various improvements that will be made as the new season begins.

▶ End of Season Rewards

As the current season ends and a new season begins, the end of season rewards will be given to the mercenaries who have been with CROWZ this season.

✔ Target: All mercenaries who have played CROWZ during the season.
✔ Period during which rewards can be received: After the September 27th maintenance ~ November 1, 00:00 (GMT+0)

✔ How to receive rewards: The rewards are automatically given when accessing CROWZ and can be received by going to Main Lobby > ‘Mailbox’ located at the upper right > System Mail.




🚨 Note
- End-of-season rewards can only be claimed once per account.
- Please receive the end-of-season rewards within 30 days upon being sent to your Mailbox.
- We ask for your understanding that it is difficult to provide assistance with the compensation for the expired items.


▶ Optimization Improvements


1. Frame Rate Optimization

- Optimized frame rates by improving the smoke effect output method.
- Optimized frame rates by improving the UI of the mini-map/whole map.


2. Fixed an issue of returning to the previous position when moving in a high ping environment (up to 800ms)


▶ New Contents and Related Improvements


1. Added user visit system

- Other users' lobbies can be visited to check their outfits, firearm settings, and more.




2. Added new currency, Q-on Point

- Exclusive items can be purchased with a new currency in Shop.
- If duplicate items are obtained from the random box, they will be automatically returned as Q-on Points.


3. Added weapon skin random boxes



- Added random box items for each weapon where you can obtain weapon skins.




4. Added new weapons

A. Added new firearms

① MG 249 (Light Machine Gun)
- A firearm that has low damage compared to other light machine guns, but has a relatively high shooting speed.
- A firearm with a higher difficulty of recoil control when shooting.
- Available from Season Level 1.




② RSW2010 (Sniper Rifle)
- A firearm that has low damage compared to other sniper rifles, but has a relatively fast bolt action speed.
- A firearm with a smaller bullet drop compared to other sniper rifles.
- Available from Season Level 1.




B. Added new melee weapons

- Butterfly Knife
> A knife with a different shape than other knives.
> Throwing function available.




5. Improved Looting System

A. Removal of neutral bases

- Neutral bases remain as before once the game begins, but after one team occupies the base, it is determined as the base of that team, and it is occupied immediately without having a neutral base status.
※ Neutral status will be removed from all Blood Zone maps other than Selain Valley.

B. Improvements related to looting points

- Changes have been made so that if the occupying team is changed while there are available for looting points in the occupied bases, the looting points of the team that lost the occupied bases are automatically deducted, and the occupying team acquires the points.

- The looting transfer area is changed from the main base to all occupied bases of the looted team.

C. Changes related to earned points

- The amount of Q-ons that can be looted is changed from a stage-by-stage method with the amount increasing at a specific time to a method with the amount of Q-ons increasing continuously.
- Q-ons are generated sometime after the capture, and when the maximum time is reached, additional Q-ons are no longer saved, and the original amount is stored.
- For a minimum amount of time, Q-ons stack up but cannot be looted.
- The maximum amount of Q-ons that can be generated is changed from 30% to 50%.

D. When looting is succeeded in a resource overload state, the points earned are doubled.
- When the support effect (2x increase in Capture Points) is applied, the amount of Q-ons generated is also doubled.
- When looting is succeeded while the support effect (2x increase in Capture Points) is applied, the points earned are increased from 50% to 100%.

E. Added loot-related kill logs.
- A notification function has been added to the kill log page when a loot attempt or success occurs.

F. Improved UI to match the changes made to the looting system.
- Made adjustments to the UI so that the change in score (deduction/addition) due to looting is displayed.


6. Added Season 2 Exclusive Battle Pass.

- The maximum level of Battle Pass has been adjusted from Lv. 100 to Lv. 70.
- The experience points required to level up for the Battle Pass have been lowered.


7. Halloween special attendance check event

- Halloween-exclusive items are added.

8. Improved Fin bay map background.

- Added and changed the placement of some objects.


9. Improved displayed mini-map area size.

- Maps: Selain Valley, Gray Stone, Whale Town
> Range: 200m / 100m / 50m


▶ Balance Improvements


1. Firearms

A. L115A3 (Sniper Rifle)
- Increased bolt action reload time.
> Reload speed: 1.77 sec → 2 sec

- Adjusted so that the bullet drop is larger than before.
> Bullet drop: 1m → 1.7m (Based on 200m)

- Increased the damage to the head and upper body part at a distance of 20m by 27%.

B. AUG (Assault Rifle)
- Adjusted short-range combat damage by improving the minimum and maximum damage ranges.
> Increased min/max damage by 3% (combat distance within 90m)

- Made adjustments so that the headshot damage is reduced from mid-range by improving the damage by distance.
> Changed the distance of headshot damage reduction applied: 110m → 90m

C. Light Machine Gun-type firearms
- Improved the basic ammo quantity for light machine gun-type firearms.
> Before change: 50 / 200 rounds (standard magazine)
> After change: 75 / 300 rounds (standard magazine)

D. MG-LAT
- Lowered the difficulty of operation.


2. Other balance improvements

A. Guided Rocket Launcher
- Changed the trigger conditions for Guided Rocket Launcher.
> Adjusted so that the launcher does not get fired when it is not in the Lock-On state.
> Changed so that it is only fired when in the Lock-On state.
> Adjusted to reduce the time required to lock-on enemy’s vehicle by 25%.

B. Sight Lens
- Improved the lens flash effect produced when aiming down sights to be more prominent from a far distance.

C. Firearms unlock level and firearm attachments
- Adjusted the unlock level for AK-47 firearm.
> Before change: Lev. 9
> After change: Lev. 1

- Adjusted the unlock level for M4A1 firearm.
> Before change: Lev. 13
> After change: Lev. 1

- Changed to acquire a dot sight at firearm level 1 for all firearms except pistols.

D. Claymore
- Improved claymore explosion registration by adjusting the claymore explosion reaction speed to react faster.

E. UAV Tactical Skill
- Adjusted the cost of using UAV tactical skill for each map.
> Selain Valley: 900 → 1200
> Whale Town: 1200 → 1600
> Fin bay: 1200 → 1600

F. Adjusted the experience required for some intervals of the season level.
- Lowered the experience required to level up by 18% from Lv. 38 to Lv. 50.


▶ System Improvements


1. Improved Spectator Mode.

A. Improved chatting in the spectator mode.
- Made it possible to use chatting in the spectator mode, and modified the displayed UI location accordingly.

B. Made adjustments to be able to change the displayed character markers to 3 types.
> Can be changed in the game by pressing the Shift + 1, 2, 3 keys.

C. Made adjustments so that the effects occurring to the player are not visible to the spectator.
- Made adjustments so that spectators cannot see the game effects that spectating players see when spectating in the free view state.
> Camera shake due to explosion
> Bloodstain UI when health decreases

D. Added a function to gradually stop with inertia on the screen while walking / slow walking (Ctrl + movement) / sprinting (Shift + movement).


2. Improved Custom Mode.

- Added a notification message before the countdown after starting the game.
- Adjusted the minimum number of players to 8, and the start notification message is changed accordingly.


3. Improved the parkour system.

- Improved the animation of climbing and jumping to be faster for low obstacles.
- Made adjustments so that parkour animation is canceled, and free fall begins when hit during the low obstacle parkour animation.


4. Improved the displayed tactical equipment information.

A. Improved the displayed location and number of Morphine Boxes placed by enemies

B. Removed displayed distance for Squad Respawn Device.

C. Added an enemy/ally identification mark on the tactical shield.

D. Added an automatic destruction count indication on the tactical shield.

E. Improved the maximum distance of the displayed icons.
> Tactical Shield / Squad Respawn Device Display Distance: 50m
> Morphine Box Display Distance: 100m


5. Improved parachute system.

- Improved the convenience of operating the parachute.
- Improved the parachute landing motion to be performed smoothly.


6. Improved UAV Support tactical skill.

A. Improved the location of the Squad Respawn Devices installed by enemies to be displayed via UAV.

B. Improvements have been made so that when an enemy shown via UAV dies, the player who paid for UAV Support is given points.
> Search points per kill:
Exp: 20, Blood Zone exclusive currency: 30

C. Increased the enemy identification process by providing different markers of enemies detected through UAV according to the distance.
> Short-range: Lines on the character’s silhouette
> Mid/long-range: Character marker


7. Improved vehicles.

- Improvements have been made so that characters staying on top of the vehicles without boarding will be dropped automatically.


8. Added character redeploy system.

- Added a redeploy function that allows character relocation if falling into a certain area during gameplay or not being able to move due to the character getting stuck.
> ESC → Redeploy
※ However, when using the redeploy function, death is increased by one.


9. Improved the description of the graphic option.

- Added before/after images for graphic options in settings.




10. Improved the visibility of the character’s marker when aiming down sights.

- Fixed an issue where it was difficult to see the character’s marker clearly when aiming down sights due to the high transparency of the marker.


▶ Sound Improvements


1. Replaced the sound of the silencer for all firearms.
- Improved to have a different distance value for each type, just like a normal firearm.

2. Improved the sound produced when killing an enemy by destroying a vehicle.
- Improved to produce the kill sound in addition to the vehicle destruction sound.

3. Improved the sound effect by improving the smoke output method.
- Improved the degree of sound interference to be increased when a character is inside a smoke screen.

4. Improved the reload sound for all firearms.
- Slightly reduced the reload volume.


▶ Bug Fixes


1. Fixed an issue where the headshot was not registered properly when shooting a character in a vehicle.

2. Fixed an issue where the zeroing adjustment function of 4x scopes or higher was being reset.

3. Fixed an issue where it was possible to attack with guns or melee weapons from behind walls or rocks.
- Fixed an issue where it was possible to attack an enemy at the aiming point with the muzzle obscured by an obstacle in the third person view.
- Fixed an issue where it was possible to throw a throwing weapon at enemy while the character was obscured by obstacles in the third person view.
- Fixed an issue where it was possible to attack enemies even when the muzzle is blocked by an obstacle.

4. Fixed an issue with the character being able to penetrate rock objects depending on the type and location of the rock.

5. Fixed an issue where the damage was not applied normally when characters were closely facing each other with the UI of the muzzle being displayed inside the enemy’s body.

6. Fixed an issue where the damage was not applied sometimes to a character, which collided with a vehicle.

7. Fixed the issue where the magazine position of AUG firearms was displayed abnormally.
- Fixed an issue where the AUG magazine was displayed abnormally in the first person view after changing the viewing angle.

8. Fixed an issue where the characters’ markers were displayed overlaying on the mini-map.

9. Fixed an issue where the Road Rover Sage was displayed abnormally from a long distance.

10. Fixed an issue where it is impossible to continue playing when pressing ‘X’ (Tactical skill) key while using a bandage item.

Sharing the voice of users upon the August 25th update and future plans.

Greetings, mercenaries!

We have received various feedback from mercenaries on the changes and new contents such as new map and looting system, which were added through the August 25th update.
We are here to share the answers to some suggestions and CROWZ future plans.

1. About improving the looting system


A. Feedback on the distance to the ally’s base being too far, while the reward for successful looting being small.
B. Request to add the looting system to other maps, not only on the Selain Valley.
C. Request to add a video or a notice so that many users can get familiar with the looting system.


> Many mercenaries shared with us various feedback once the looting system was introduced.
We are also aware of the difficulties related to the looting system, and we plan to improve the overall system by referring to the received feedback.
If you have any specific suggestions on how the looting system should be improved, please share them with us through the community or Customer Support, and once related improvements are confirmed to be implemented, we will notify everyone through the relevant notice.
In addition, we have added the looting system related information to the game guide and FAQ. However, as many mercenaries may find it difficult to check the game guide and FAQ, when introducing new contents in the future we will make sure to prepare related tips and videos so that many mercenaries can check and understand the new contents easier.

2. About improving the Fin bay map



> As we have introduced the new map ‘Fin bay’ in the Blood Zone mode, many mercenaries have sent us suggestions on how the map can be improved.
Among various suggestions, many mercenaries have shared their feedback related to firearms, such as equipping attachments to the firearms dropped by enemies and expanding magazines as ammunition supply is not provided in the Fin bay map. In the case of switching attachments onto dropped guns, it is possible to equip it for the same gun, but it is not possible to equip the attachments you have to different types of guns. There is a structure-related issue regarding this matter, and it is difficult to immediately make improvements on this part. But we will do our best to discuss it with the dev team so that changes can be made in the future.
In addition, we have carefully checked all of your comments on how the Fin bay map can be improved, and we will work hard to make Fin bay more enjoyable through the in-depth discussion of the received feedback.
As with the looting system, if you have any suggestions on the Fin bay map, please leave a comment in the community.


3. About sniper rifle balance improvements



> We are also aware of the fact that sniper rifles are currently affecting the game’s balance to some extent.
In this regard, we have conducted multiple meetings where we reviewed this matter, and we are preparing to improve the balance by increasing the difficulty of the sniper rifle's operation.
In addition, we promise to continue collecting information through continuous monitoring to proceed with further improvement of the balance.


4. About Tactical skill related improvements


A. Request for points and money to be given to the player who has paid for UAV tactical skill when an ally kills an enemy within the UAV area.
B. Request to adjust the shield’s vision field to be able to see through it more easily.


> We are currently reviewing how the tactical skill ‘UAV Support’ can be improved. However, we ask for your understanding that it is difficult to provide details on when the changes will be applied and detailed information.

> As for the shield, we have forwarded this feedback to the person in charge to check whether improvements can be made. We will do our best to promptly inform you through the patch notes once the changes to be made are confirmed.


5. About other matters to be improved


A. Request to add an additional animation scene instead of a countdown once the matching is completed.
B. Request to improve the visibility of the marker above the player’s head when aiming down sights through the scope.
C. Request to be able to report other players during the game.
D. Request to improve the explosion registration of claymores.


> We have received various suggestions from mercenaries, such as animation, visibility, and reporting during the game function to make the gameplay experience even more enjoyable and convenient when playing CROWZ. We sincerely appreciate all the feedback and suggestions, and CROWZ will continue to work on making improvements to the game until we can provide a satisfying gameplay environment for everyone.

> In the case of claymores, it is set so that it does not explode immediately even if the enemy is within the explosion range, but it only explodes after being within the range for a certain period of time. If the claymore explosion is not happening from time to time, we assume it is caused by the enemy quickly passing the end of the range or not meeting the conditions such as time period. However, as we can see that many users report this matter, we will do our best to improve it by adjusting the reaction time and explosion range.


6. About adding new features


A. Request to add a Kill Cam or a function to check the match history.
B. Request to add the ability to transport the injured ally to a different location.
C. Request to add new guns and attachments.


> Currently, you can check the basic battle records by checking the player’s profile.
* This can be checked as follows: Social → Search user’s nickname → Click on the user nickname → View Profile.
* Total kills, deaths, assists, knockdowns, score, average ranking/win-loss per 10 games, etc. can be checked here.
In addition to the currently provided records, we will have a discussion on the additional records, kill cams, etc.

> We will review the ability to be able to transport the injured ally, but we ask for your understanding that it may take some time as we are focusing on the high-priority tasks.

> We are planning to add two new guns in September. New guns and attachments will be continuously introduced through updates in the future, so please look forward to it.


7. About illegal programs



> We, CROWZ, believe that no mercenaries should experience inconvenience caused by players who use illegal programs, and all reports that we received are being carefully checked with monitoring being carried out for each case.
If you encounter a user whom you suspect to be using an illegal program, please report them through the in-game report function.

1. Go to Social → Recent Players → Click on the player you would like to report → Report.
2. Go to Social → Search → Search for the nickname of the user → Click on the user → Report.

We promise to provide a more pleasant gaming environment by continuously seeking improvements to block illegal programs while monitoring and taking measures against those accounts, which were confirmed to be using illegal programs.

- Fixed an issue where the occupation range of the Whale Town point B being displayed abnormally broad.
- Fixed an issue where the list of boost items was not displayed on the preview page of DLC products in the game.
- Fixed an issue where the texture of the arm was not displayed normally when wearing a long-sleeve field ops shirt (Grey).
- Fixed an issue where the marker above the ally's head was not displayed intermittently.

3. Matters under review for improvement after the update
- Feedback received on the looting system, which was added through this update, is currently under review.

F. Tactical Strategy
- As there is no ammunition support function in the capture points, ammunition management as well as collecting dropped weapons are important for a strategic battle.
- Since all capture points are strategic objectives, it is advantageous to divide a team into two squads and capture each capture point.


2. Added Selain Valley Loot rules

A. Description of Loot system
This is a content where you have to loot Q-Ons from the opposing team's captured base, and bring them to your team's base to obtain Q-Ons.

B. Detailed Rules
- Q-Ons are generated at regular intervals in the mining machines deployed in the enemy-occupied bases.

> Stage 1 (5min) → Stage 2 (7min) → Stage 3 (10min)
> The higher the stage, the more Q-Ons are lootable.

- Upon approaching the enemy’s Q-On mining machine and pressing the F-key, enemy Q-Ons can be looted.
> Looting takes a certain amount of time.
> Once the looting is completed, a Q-On bag is automatically attached to the looter’s waist.
> In case of successful looting, the enemy's Q-On points will be deducted equally according to the looted points.

- After looted Q-Ons are transported to the ally's base mining machine, Q-On points equal to the looted amount will be obtained.
> In case of dying while transporting it, Q-Ons will be dropped in the area where the looter died.
> If an ally obtains dropped Q-Ons, the Q-On bag is attached to the new looter’s waist and can be transported again. However, if it is obtained by the enemy, Q-On points will be immediately reclaimed.
> Acquired Q-Ons cannot be transferred to another person.


3. Made adjustments to the Whale Town map

- Changed the location of the mining machine in the point D.
- Fixed an issue where it was possible to parkour over the walls inside the roof of the city hall building in the point D.
- Improved the size of the mini-map to be more detailed.


4. Improved in-game screen

A. Improved UI
- Made adjustments so that the list displayed on the in-game scoreboard changes according to the number of players.

B. Improved spectator screen
- Made adjustments so that a fade-in/out effect is applied when switching to the next player while spectating.
- Added a delay when switching to spectator mode so that the movement transitions are applied smoothly when clicking a button.

C. Added loading screen tips
- Equipping a backpack allows you to use an emergency parafoil.
- Use gas masks to survive in meteor impact sites.
- Use points earned in matches to activate skills.
- Equipping a vest increases your ammo capacity.

▶ Balance Improvements

1. Adjusted the damage reduction rate for SMG-type firearms
- Lowered the effectiveness at medium-range (20-60M) for all SMG-type firearms.
> Increased the ammunition rounds (BTK) and kill time (TTK) needed to kill an enemy.

2. Improved gun reload control structure
- Made adjustments to the matter where the reload was canceled when using SG-type firearms and bolt action firearms are firing while having 0 rounds left.

3. Added a new toxic gas grenade
- After throwing, it explodes immediately upon contact with the ground or walls.
- Toxic gas grenades are thrown immediately once the throw key (G by default) is pressed without cooking.
- When exposed to toxic gas, the damage is applied for a certain period of time, and character animation related to the toxic gas is produced.
- Damage and effect of toxic gas can be blocked by wearing a gas mask before entering the toxic gas area.
※ Damage cannot be blocked if the gas mask is without filters.




4. Improved the effect that blocks the screen when an object is hit with a bullet from a short range.
- Adjusted the amount of smoke produced by the distance that blocked the sight when a nearby object is hit during a short-range battle, so that the smoke does not block the sight at close range.

5. Improved the size of the Shield (Tactical Skill)
- Increased the size by about 10% compared to the previous size.

6. Improved the balance of recovery items

A. Bandage
- Recovery amount: Adjusted by increasing 25% -> 27%
- Usage time: Decreased 3 seconds -> 2.5 seconds

B. Morphine
- Recovery amount: Adjusted by increasing 80% -> 90%
- Usage time: Decreased 6 seconds -> 5 seconds


▶ System Improvements

1. Improved the preview function of items in Shop

A. Improved the matter where previewing was unavailable for items other than Attire items.
B. Made adjustments so that all items in the shopping cart can be previewed.

2. Added the Season Mission feature
- Added missions and rewards that can only be achieved during the season.




3. Added information at the respawn screen about the weapon attachments that have been unlocked during game-play (Blood Zone mode).
- Added a display function so that the information about the weapon attachments, which have been unlocked during play can be checked on the respawn screen after dying.




4. Opened Custom Mode
- An authority to open custom mode games is given to all users.
※ Experience points obtained in custom mode games are not reflected in the player’s account.

- Custom mode game can be created by referring to [How to create a Custom Mode game] as follows.

[How to create a Custom Mode game]
1) Select Custom Mode on the mode selection screen.
2) Click the “Create” button at the bottom left.
3) Specify desired settings in session settings.

- In-game Chat
4) Click the “Create” button to create a Custom Mode game.
※ You can invite players who have been added to the friends list by using the invite function in the custom mode game you have created.




5. Added a nickname hiding function
- Provided a feature to hide all players’ nicknames except for squad members.
- For players who are using the hiding nickname feature, other players’ nicknames will be displayed with a random number such as ‘Unknown000’ in the chat window and in the kill log.
- The Nickname hiding function is applied after being turned on in the in-game settings > Gameplay > Hide Nickname.
※ This feature is added to help the streaming. If the Nickname hiding feature is activated, other players’ nicknames are displayed as ‘Unknown000’ only on the player’s screen.

6. Added localization
- Added Japanese.
- ESC > Settings > Gameplay > Language > Japanese


▶ Sound Improvements

1. Reduced the sound effect heard through walls when the character is standing behind a wall.
- Made adjustments so that the sound is reduced when standing behind a wall.
2. Fixed an issue with the overlapping sound of the P443 when reloading.
3. Improved an issue where the environmental sounds were not produced in some areas.
4. Fixed an issue where the crashing sound was produced as a concrete material sound while driving a tank.
5. Fixed the intermittent interruption of the dialogue in the Blood Zone mode.
6. Improved the sound balance of M4A1 and LM129.
- Improved the echoing sound after firing.
- Fixed an issue where the sound of multiple automatic shots would sound like it was cut off.
7. Fixed an issue where the sound of the Sniper rifles and pistols could not be heard well due to the sound being overlapped with the enemy hitting sound at close range.
8. Made adjustments so that the character voice that comes out when reloading the gun is produced randomly for each situation.
9. Adjusted sound balance.
- Slightly reduced the sound of gunshots from PKM guns when used by the enemy.
- Made adjustments so that the guns equipped with silencers can be heard from up to 25% greater distance than before.
- Reduced the sound of a smoke grenade when being detonated to a similar level to that of an incendiary grenade.
- Slightly increased the volume of bullets flying in the direction of the character.
- Improved the echo sound of H-44 gunshots to be heard better than before.

▶ Bug Fixes

1. Fixed an issue where the noise suppressing option of the Silencer Muzzle in the Equipment > Customize Weapon tab was displayed abnormally in other attachments.
2. Fixed an issue where the Guided Rocket Launcher would lock on to a tank that used smoke grenades.
- Lock-on is not possible when tanks use smoke grenades for evasive maneuvers.
3. Fixed an issue where the point of view would change to the third person when respawning after dying while using the parachute in Whale town.
4. Fixed an issue of respawning in the blocked areas of the shopping building located in the point F of Whale town.
5. Fixed an issue where the fired bullets did not penetrate certain building railings or steel fences.
- Fixed objects such as the railings located on the 2nd floor of the city hall building in the point D and steel fences all around the map.
6. Fixed an issue where the sprint key did not work when pressing the R key after throwing a melee weapon.
7. Fixed an issue where the season level was displayed on the Stats board when it should not be displayed.
8. Fixed an issue where reloading was not canceled when using an emotion while reloading a gun.
9. Fixed an issue where the helicopters submerged underwater could be boarded.
- Changed so that if the helicopter is submerged underwater, it cannot be boarded.
10. Fixed an issue where the rotation (up, down, left, and right) was reversed in the melee weapon loadout window.
