It's been a long time since I said anything about this game. Mostly because I hate using Steam's system.
But I wanted to let anyone here, who is till interested, know that I'm working on a major update to CRUSH's visuals + some other things. I'm also going to be releasing it as an update and not a new game.
Here's a list of what has been updated. With this update the foundation is set.
- Intro/tutorial stage
- Your character can now roll out of the way
- Weapon spawn system (all weapons available)
- More ammounaughts (Coming Soon)
- Added graphics, FX, and gibs
- The minigun is back
- Better UI
- Fixed a bunch of game breaking bugs.
- Reduced player lives to 12
- Added a 1up Shop
SUPER AWESOME BIG UPDATE! CRUSH is not dead.
You will either be excited or mildly disappointed by this post. Why? Because I spent the last month crunching the hell out of my time to work on CRUSH… and I made some drastic changes.
I felt the game was not going in the direction I had originally planned. I let the game go to my head. As the designer, I was trying to add things I thought players would want. The way I executed making this game was taking too long and complicated the code. I took a 10 second look in the mirror and said to myself, ” We got to roll this back.” Tak a look:
Allow me to break down some of what I did:
- Obviously you’ve notice the change with the arena art. More traditional to the 80’s & 90’s look.
- I temporarily remove the light engine. (I need to update the entire thing)
- Removed about 100mb of data and files.
- Created 4 new arenas with enemies, and 3 bosses
- Removed the item pickup pulse mechanic. It felt too confusing and I went -back to good ol fashioned collide to pick up and use.
At this point the core of the game and round 1 of development is 90% finished. I would like to create 1 more arena + two bosses, but I’m pushing them to round 2 of development, which is polish (cut scenes, artwork, effects, sound, music, etc) and bug fixes. My goal is to update the game today or tomorrow.
So get early access and help me make this game… I need the funding.

Upcoming Updates
Hello! if It feels like I haven't updated the game in a while, it's because the next update is big - I'm adding a new arena, and my day job picked up. So I'm going to split the update into smaller parts. Some of the updates will be small fixes and menu changes.

The game has been rolled back to Early Access and thank you for your support.
Full Release Error
This game is still in Early Access. Some how it was placed as full release. I'm trying to resolve the issue but steam doesn't allow me to hide the store without their permission. Please do not buy this game if you are expected a full release, bug free title. I'm very sorry for this.
The Core Update 4.2.2
So I did a ton of work. This update places the game in the ballpark of core gameplay. I (temporarily) removed a lot of the items from the last update to showcase what the first arena should feel like. There are still a lot of adjustments and additions coming. I also (for this update) removed the scan lines and screen bulge. They will toggled options in the future.
- I fix the issue where crates would spawn over and over again when you live and enter a room. Now they spawn only one time.
- Fire fade out time has been shorten to 0.7 seconds.
- Corner room 1up's only spawn one time.
- Added: Difficulty ai: The game will adjust difficulty to how your doing.
- Added: Ratings bar: The ratings bar pairs with the difficulty ai, allowing you to moniter your skill. Max out the ratings and you get bonus gold and pulse from crates
- Added Pulse: Items you pick up now you a energy source called "pulse"
- Gun pickup are now ammo based.
- HUD has been adjusted to reflect changes made in the game.
- Added: boss life bar
- Added: Menu sounds
- change: redesgned the navigation arrows
- change: Tweeked the explosion animation
- fix: Bomber desth explosion now shows it's normal map.
- fix: Ammonaught will only toss weapons during waves, not in between.
- change: new 1up graphic.
- Added: clear graphic when room wave is completed
- Chaged a bunch of sound fx's
- Added: A chest that give you special items. Will cost you money though
- Fix: map cell 13 wasn't show correct navigation. I added a south door to it.
- The bosses will now drop awesome stuff upon death
CRUSH will take part in the Summer Sale but,
Steam won't let me until June 30. So add CRUSH to you wishlist!
UPDATE 4.2.1 - More Items!
Here comes another quick update:
New Additions
- Items: Sword, Map, Mines, Tome, Ooze, Multiply, Blade Droid
- Pulse: Powers your special items. Use it wisely.
- Pickup/Drop Mechanics
- Two items slot: Left and right
Fixes and Changes
- HUD Frame
- Center room bug: A clone would be spawned.
- Items are now reusable. Powered by pulse.
The Rogue like update!
[H1]CRUSH is getting a major update right now.
Additions: - Varied rooms: Dead ends, cut offs, bridges.
- Map: The rooms are random but not disorganized, so now you can track where you're at.
- One use items: Blunderbust (shotgun), personal shield (belt), speed boots (boot).
- Types of money: Gold bars, VCR, diamond, tablet. (for upcoming shop)
- Crates: Small crates contain coins. Large crates contain items and larger sums of money.
Changes and Fixes: - Arenas are now grid based rooms.
- Arenas are now explorable.
- Enemies no longer drop money.
- Ammonaught no longer drop 1up’s.
- 1up’s are hidden around the arena.
- Find and defeat the boss to advance to the next arena: Somewhere in one of the outside rooms.
- Removed endless zombie rush. (For now)
- Fix the issue where fullscreen would exit when entering options menu.
- New crosshair for mouse.
