Approaching Release

We have been rapidly approaching release.
While we work on our new updates we would like to let you know what to expect in the coming months.


A new Mode-
Classic
A new Classic mode will be added that offers a more traditional roguelike experience, one long dungeon, get to the boss and exit.


New weapons-
new weapons with added magical effects to make picking up a new item much more exciting.


New Enemies-
Lots of new enemies are being added. Spiders, Wizards, and more!


Other stuff!-
Tons more, edible food, a map system, new levels, and other stuff we don't want to spoil.


We have been working very hard to keep making the game better and better and we hope you all like it, we are a two person team and we love to work hard on this game and hope you've been enjoying it!

May beta update!

Our May Beta update is here. We've added in a lot of cool stuff so give it a try but know there are still a lot of bugs.

We've added a minimap! just look down to see where you are on the map. you'll be able to see the exit and other interesting features.

added new hit effects, each weapon type has different effects when you hit something.

New potions, so they look more like real liquid.

EVERYTHING is a weapon, you can now throw anything at an enemy to hurt them.

Other bug fixes and minor changes.

March Update!

We've been working hard to get more content into the game over the past two weeks and we are laying more foundations for that.

Right now: Blocking! you can now use a weapon to block and defend.
Added Snap turn mode so our Oculus customers should have a much easier time.
Can now just slide your finger on the pad to move.
The hand moves now and as such the grab mechanics are a little different. if you grab a weapon it will stick to your hand but when picking up things it will need to be held.
Fixed the rats and bats to be closer to you and act more naturally.
Coins are now in, and able to be picked up, but they aren't worth anything (yet).

In the future:
We are adding in new enemies very soon, but we need to make the ones we have now work with our new systems. It'll be worth it.
Adding new Dungeons, we have new workflows for making dungeons that should make them much more detailed and much faster.
adding in a new quest system and ai that will request actually give you the quests. It will be much more of a living world.

Whats coming up?

Hey everyone,
we are working hard on the next update so I thought I'd share whats coming up.

We will be adding in new enemies soon, so be prepared to find some enemies that don't just run at and try to hit and stab you.

Merchants! We'll be adding in a new Merchant very soon, and with merchants comes gold too! You'll be able to pick up and sell treasures to buy better items.

Better items! You'll also be seeing a lot of new Magical items coming up.

Hope some of this information tides you over for the next update. We are also adding in snap turning for our Oculus friends and left handed mode for lefties.

Patch 0.1.9 The Alchemy Update!



Update 0.1.9 is here and we are bringing in the ability to make and drink potions!



Around the dungeons you'll now find cauldrons and mushrooms, mix any two mushrooms together to get a new potion. What you get is a mystery! Potions are randomized when you die, but you can remember what each combination is for each life.

The future

We are moving to do more updates that are more impactful. We are going to be doing updates every two weeks, with notes on where we are at and what we are working on. The next patch will have more enemies. Scary enemies.

Patch 0.1.8

Sorry we haven't written patch notes in a while, we have been updating pretty regularly so if you want a comprehensive list of what has been added, here it is!

Major Changes



  • Added a new level type, The sewer! this is just the start and we will be expanding these even more in upcoming updates.

  • New Cel-Shading! enemies and certain items are cel-shaded now, but it's going to expand to much more.

  • New AI. Now enemies won't be able to see you around corners and will act generally smarter.



Smaller Changes



  • Added doors to dungeons.

  • Climbable ladders added to some dungeons. squeeze the trigger with an empty hand to grip the ladder.

  • Look at weapons to see their stats.

  • Press left on your pad without movement to see your own personal stats.

  • Armor on enemies will increase their defenses.

  • Sword swings are based on physical swinging. you can no longer flail to do good damage, now you have to actually swing hard or stab better.

  • lots of bug fixes. if we find any bugs we try to fix them that day.


We have a lot of stuff upcoming, including new enemies and even bosses. So keep an eye out. we will be updating a lot more.

Crypt Hunter 0.1.1 Release Notes.

We have Changed a lot from 0.1.0 to 0.1.1. This patch is mostly just foundation improvements to make the game better moving forward. You'll notice a lot of fundamental changes in how the game is played. If you're interested here is the full patch notes

    Interaction

  • All grabbing is now done using the triggers
  • things that can be interacted with now glow when hovering your hand
    over it
  • Hands are now corporeal! no longer translucent.
  • added two holsters to the hips so you can store weapons at your side.
  • Handles are now on doors that you use to open them.

    Movement


  • Three movement options
  • can be accessed by pressing the menu button
  • Sliding using the trackpad
  • Slide teleport using a teleport that will slide you to your destination
  • blink teleport that will blink you to your destination

    Miscellaneous


  • Added music to the tavern
  • Now will display the name of the weapon and it's stats when looking at it.
  • a new death area.
  • tweaks to the battle system
  • updates to much of the dungeons so you can't fall through anymore.


In the coming updates


We realize many people would like some more feature rich updates coming and this last update was really just a foundation to add more to the game now. A few things you will be seeing is, new enemies, new environments, Magical weapons, drinkable potions, and a lot more.
