------ Special rule: Handicap For this Tournament we want to lessen the gap between players that have been around a long time and those who are newer to the game. Therefore, teams & single players will be put into three categories:
1. Veterans (Having won a gold tournament before) will play the whole tournament with a -2 handicap, meaning that they are only allowed to use 10 instead of 12 cards in a deck. 2. Advanced Players (Having won a leaderboard badge, a non gold tournament, and/or more than 200h of playtime in CC) will have a handicap of -1, which equals 11 cards in a deck. 3. New Players (The rest) can use full decks.
If a single player joins the tournament with two decks the handicap applies for both of the decks. -------

Today we are implementing a couple things we have been working on for quite a while.
1. 2vs2 Feature a) We reduced the necessary level for being allowed to play 2 decks simultaneously with the 2vs2 feature. You only have to reach level 6 to be able to command two decks at once and play on your own. b) The 2vs2 feature is now also available for bronze tier :bronze:. This way new players may get "raised" and comfortable with it from an early stage on and grow to be the hunters of the oldstars. :old:
2. Deleting of Cards Some players have experienced longer loadings times but first tests show improved performance after getting rid of not needed cards. Therefore, you can delete Cards that are currently **not in decks** from today on by using the attached codes in the shop.
It is mandatory to immediatly restart the client after having used a code to activate and avoid errors!
3. Steam Group Chat We've linked the Chat button on top to the official Steam Group Chat for faster connecting with other players and to form teams or finding opponents for matches. Not as crowded as on discord for now but mods and channels are in place and waiting for you. :wave: Our main platform will remain discord but we wanted to add a more direct way of communication.

4. We have added some hints in the client that were overdue. For example, that the highest card in a deck determines in which tier you play.

⚔️ Community Challenge - Become the Golem Champion ⚔️
Last year, paperpancake made a video explaining the successful strategy that he uses for the Crystal Golem Challenge. Since then, there have been many balance changes, but he hasn't updated his strategy. Now might be the time to strike! His first Crystal Golem Challenge attempt this month took 9m 11s. Can you dethrone the Golem King from his place on top of the Crystal Golem Challenge leaderboard?
Rewards
13m 10s or less - Nice time! Your try will be rewarded: 2500 coins + 10 premium days
10m 10s or less - So close! Prize: 5000 coins + 10 premium days
9m 10s or less - You beat paperpancake this month! Prize: 1000 crystals + 10000 coins + 10 premium days
#1 on the August leaderboard at the end - The golems bow before you! You get the prize for beating paperpancake + 1000 extra crystals + the rotating Golem Champion role on Discord. 🙂
This challenge runs until the leaderboard is reset at the end of August.
You can continue to improve your time until the end of the challenge; only your best time will count. To claim your prize, take a screen grab from the leaderboard that includes your time and your Steam display name. Post it to either our Discord (tag @paperpancake in #golem-challenge) or in the Golem Challenge channel of the Steam group chat. Prizes will be distributed the week after the challenge ends.

We finally fixed the 2vs2 feature and it is now working fully in custom games. Playing 1vs2 and 1vs1 with two decks for the single players is now possible. We also fixed a bug that allowed players to go into silver queue with gold cards (thx to @quema)!

Most noteworthy is the addition of a summoning sickness after a legend/unit has been relocated. This way the abuse of relocating to stomp especially towers will be reduced but also the spell is further nerfed in general. We also increased damage of Hail of Arrows, cut its initial waves down and increased mana cost. It will therefore have a stronger effect vs bigger units and be more useful in later stages, while it cannot be spammed and is less usable when played without archers.

We recently implemented the 2vs2 feature for custom games, which will allow single players from now on to participate in tournaments with two decks! ⚔️ the Next tournament is already planed, so you do not have to wait for much longer to fight on your own there. 🔥
For the Gold Leaderboard additional points will be awarded for beating high ranked players. If you beat a top 10 player, you will get +5 points and for beating a top 20 player it is +3.

The next gold tournaments starts tomorrow. Don't worry, you are not too late, it is played over time until the 18th of June! See all infos below.
Info & Rules: Tournament size - Min. 4 teams, max. 32 • Team Size - 2 vs 2 • Tier: Gold (you can join with lower tier cards)
Tournament mode will be a round robin, each team faces every other in two matches. Therefore, ties will be possible and grant 1 point for the ladder, in case of a 2:0, the winner will get 3 points.
Date: Saturday, 3rd of June 2023 - Sunday, 18th of June (6pm CET)
The tournament starts on the 3rd of June and ends on the 18th. This way you have 3 weekends to coordinate your matches with your opponents. Working days can also be used, if they fit for both teams. To play a match get in touch via discord or use the individual chats in the matches on Battlefy. Find a day and time with your opponents - play the matches on the set date, put the results in. You do not have to stick by the match order on battlefy.
