At 6pm GMT tomorrow DEMONS will release to Early Access. So far, we've revealed five of the demons that will be available to challenge in the game, each of them bringing their own unique gameplay twist and requiring smart strategic adjustments to overcome.
These five will be joined on our Early Access launch by three others which have never been officially spoiled... until now!
Highwayman
Stand and deliver - your items and your life! This spectral Highwayman has returned from beyond the grave to threaten every characters equipped items if even one of your team should encounter him during an investigation. Avoiding this demon is one option, but if you find yourself forced to confront him at least try and do it at a time when your team has the least items to lose possible.
Hellhound
This fiery beast from beyond has one weakness. During their investigations players will find Bone cards which can be used to move the Hellhound from one location to another. However, you'll need the Hellhound card to be face-up to do this, which means finding it at a location with Flashlight cards first! This demon is an excellent challenge for new players and we strongly recommend it for learning games.
Timereaper
Timereaper makes every game a tricky race against the clock, as he moves the Time Lock card around locations, preventing them from being the first place a character investigates in a turn. Perk cards which allow you to make more than one investigation in a turn are a powerful option against this demon, which also rewards thoughtful planning of what each member of your team is going to do with their action and careful consideration of the order they will act in.
See you in the lobbies!
Which of these new demons are you most looking forward to challenging? Whichever one you're planning to play against you'll want friends to help you get some wins and you'll find many people to play with in the DEMONS Discord, which you can join by clicking the banner below.

At 6pm GMT tomorrow we unleash the DEMONS!
DEMONS is taking part in Next Fest!
DEMONS Is Taking Part In Next Fest!
Our release to Early Access is fast approaching on March 25th (wishlist us now if you want to get ahead of the game!), but before then you'll have the chance to try out our demo during Steam Next Fest. What can you expect from the demo? Read on to find out...
Five Demons to Challenge
If you've taken part in our playtests over the last year then these terrifying faces will be familiar to you already, but if you're joining us for the first time then meet the demons!
As you can see from the rules text on the cards, each demon presents a unique challenge when you play against it. The different effects they have on the rules of the game mean that it's a good plan to prepare to play against each of them separately by making the most of your Perk card picks. Luckily we've introduced 5 new perks to give you more choice than ever before about what kind of strategy you want to use against these fiendish adversaries...
Five New Perks
Most of our playtests have only featured our original 5 perks, but recently we've added these 5 new ones too. For this demo they will be unlockable using Fate Tokens in the Fate Store. Perks like Last Hope and Lucky Find help you get the altars you need to win that may have been lost to the discard pile or be hiding behind demon or cultist cards at a location. Distraction is a neat way to temporarily take a cultist out and secure a location for investigation. Pay the Devil and Generous open up new options for how you make use of the valuable item cards you equip during the game.
If you're a newcomer to DEMONS you're now up to speed on what's been happening with the game recently and the basics of what you'll find in our Next Fest demo. Read on to find out about a brand new, never before seen feature, coming to the game for the first time ever with this demo...
Character Card Effects
Fresh into the Fate Store for this demo are character card effects. These fun cosmetic skins for your character cards will offer a way to show off your style to team-mates. This 'star performance' effect is just one option - expect to find a few choices waiting for you in the demo. Remember, all our cosmetics are unlockable with in-game currency - we have nothing in the Fate Store that costs real world money!
A Mysterious Clue Appears...
You've already seen the 5 demons we're featuring for our Next Fest demo, but when we release to Early Access on March 25th another 3 demons will be joining them in the game. I've been digging through the dusty DEMONS vaults, looking for clues to share with you as to the identity of one of these as yet unseen terrifying tormentors and have found this mysterious card. It appears to be missing it's rules text, but the image alone is quite tantalizing...
What mystical power might this Time Lock hold? What kind of demon might it accompany? Tell us your guess on what it's game effect will be in the comments, or better still join our friendly group of demon hunters in our Discord community by clicking the link below and share your theories there...
Play the new DEMONS demo in Steam Scream Fest
DEMONS is taking part in Steam Scream Fest 2024!
We’re proud to be back taking part in another Steam Scream Fest with our new demo this year. DEMONS will be playable throughout Scream Fest, which begins on October 28th and ends on November 4th.
We’ve prepared some terrifyingly fun new features for this Halloween event - read on to find out more about new unlockable content and a mystery demon who won’t be seen again after this event until we release!
New Unlockables
Props
Every scary movie needs some frightening props and in this demo we’re introducing a bunch of them to the Fate Store! Fate tokens are earned whenever you score a win and can be spent on a variety of cosmetics to customise your game environment in the Fate Store located in the main menu. Until now this has included item skins for your flashlight and wristwatch, but props are a bit different…
You can equip one of these ghoulish props in the store and it will appear in the game environment next time you play. This means that when you explore the Farmhouse you’ll see your prop and those of your team-mates lurking in it’s grounds.
Emote Wheel Voice Lines
Also new to the Fate Store for this demo are emote wheel voice lines. Once you’ve unlocked these your in-game emotes will be accompanied by a quip from the character you have chosen to play as. These voice lines unlocks will be available in the Fate Store for all 5 characters in this demo - so whoever your favourite is you won’t be left out!
The Mystery Demon
During our playtests and demos we like to provide a few different demons for you to test your skills against. As a special surprise for Scream Fest this demo will include a demon we have never included in an event before and will not include again until release!
Who is this stranger in the shadows? What fiendish new mechanics will they bring to the game? The only way to find out is to play the demo and see for yourself… if you dare!
Until next time…
Enjoy the demo & don’t forget to Wishlist the game if you haven’t already. You can also join our community over on Discord by clicking the banner below. It’s an awesome place to talk tactics for the game and find players to team up with to take on the demons. Thanks for playing!
Item Skins and XP Ranks Make Debut in New DEMONS Playtest!
Sign up for our August Playtest NOW!
Welcome back DEMONS fans! Our August playtest is taking place in just a few days time and you can request access over on our Steam page right now. The playtest will open on August 30th and close on September 2nd. What new features can you look forward to helping us test this time? Read on to find out...
Unlockable Item Skins
Banishing demons has never been so stylish! This playtest will introduce our game store where you will be able to spend Fate Tokens to unlock alternate skins for items such as the flashlight. Fate Tokens will be earned when you win a game and for this playtest all skins will only cost a single token. This means that every game you win will allow you to unlock an item skin! Please note that this low price is due to the fact that at the conclusion of the playtest we will be resetting unlocks - so any skin you unlock will only be available for this particular playtest.
Flashlights aren't the only item getting a set of skins for this playtest though, as they're joined by the wristwatch. You may have noticed that these unlockables will only be viewable to you - other players can't see your flashlight or wristwatch. For those of you who like to show off - fear not; other unlockables are planned for future playtests which will be visible to all players!
If you don't want to wait that long for a little something to show off your skill to your team mates then you might want to read about the new...
XP and Rank Titles
Whether you win or lose, every game of DEMONS you play during this playtest will award you XP. The more XP you earn the higher your rank and title will be. You start off as a humble 'survivor' but with a lot of hard work you can climb all the way to the rank of 'chosen one'. These titles will be displayed at the bottom of your character card during games and give you something to show off for your time spent sending demons back to the void! Don't get too attached though as your XP and title will be reset at the conclusion of the playtest.
Featured Demons
Those of you who have joined our playtests regularly will know that we feature 3 demons for you to test your skills against. This time is no different with The Leprechaun and The Necromancer joined by fan favourite The Executioner for you to challenge.
The Executioner awaits!
Until Next Time...

New Demon Reveal - He's the Deadliest Yet!
Meet the Necromancer
We rate our demons difficulty level by a number of skulls displayed in the top left corner of their card. One skull demons are the easiest to play against, whilst demons with two skulls represent a harder challenge. We've never revealed a three skull demon... until now!
Defeating a cultist in Demons isn't easy. A hatchet card is your only tool to dispatch them safely and often you'll find yourself taking a knockdown when encountering them before they go to the discard pile.
The Necromancer poses a huge challenge thanks to it's ability to shuffle cultists back into the draw deck. This means the same cultist card can strike against you multiple times. It also means that the longer you take to win, the more likely you are to run into cultists. Destroying the altars you need to triumph has never been so difficult!
If that wasn't enough the Necromancer will still hit you with the huge jumpscare and standard attack you'd get with any of our other demons too!
New Feature: Win Percentage Tracker
With a good amount of luck anyone will be able to triumph against our demons once. Truly great DEMONS players are the ones who can use their skill to win consistently over large numbers of games.
For our upcoming playtest we've added a win percentage tracker to the end game screen which will tell you how many games you've played against a demon and how many of those games you won. Bragging rights go to the players with the highest number of games played + highest number of games won against a demon!
If the loss percentage starts to get too high for your liking there is the option to reset the tracker to zero at any time - but beware - this will also wipe your wins!

New Demon Reveal - This One Is No Joke!
Meet The Jester!
There's nothing funny about this diabolical court jester! Her card shuffling antics are sure to cause your team some nightmares. Encountering the Jester in game will see all cards at all locations turned face-down and juggled through the air to land at random places.
Losing track of cards you've worked hard to reveal can be a big enough problem in DEMONS at the best of times, but the fact that the Jester's ability will also activate when she is revealed by a flashlight search makes this effect even tougher to play around.
Of course no DEMONS adversary would be complete without an awesome accompanying jumpscare! Here's a little preview of what to expect...

Attention Streamers And Viewers!
Are you a horror game content creator? Are you a fan of horror game streams? We've got some exciting news for you! DEMONS will be open to stream during this playtest! Whether you're broadcasting your experience live or making videos for later - it's all good!
Here's our quick 3 point guide on why we think you might want to give DEMONS a go with your community:
1. Games are FAST! A full game of DEMONS lasts just a few minutes - perfect for lots of viewer participation or filling in down time between other games.
2. DEMONS is DIFFERENT. We're proud to have created a game that puts a fresh spin on co-op horror. We think fans of the genre are going to be intrigued by this new take on gameplay.
3. DEMONS is FUN! Whether it's cackling maniacally at seeing your friend run face first into a cultist attack or cheering together as you sequence the perfect series of plays to triumph over the demon at the last second, this game delivers plenty of fun as the unexpected twists and turns of your struggle to destroy the evil summoning altars unfolds differently every play-through.
