New Beta update!

Changed all the button descriptors in the tutorial into HMD appropriate controller meshes with button flash indicators so player can tell at a glance which button is being indicated.
Thumbstick control now default (Oculus Touch)
Gun angle adjusted
New sound & particle fx added to the Grav Beam
Various other small fixes & polish

Cyberdrifter 0.6 Update delay as stealth/infiltration gameplay introduced.


It is with deep regret that due to a level replacement the 0.6 update will take a bit longer before release :(
During Level 2's visual upgrade I found that although the level worked as an arcade shooter I couldn't fit it into the storyline.
This level will now be replaced by a stealth/infiltration level with a change of pace and gameplay style.
I can't give an ETA at the moment and I don't want to disappoint again but I'll post an update asap.

ICYMI - A 0.6 Beta is available for testing and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cyberdrifter - Release road map!

As pointed out in the community forums Cyberdrifter is now coming up to it's estimated 18 month early access window, this unfortunately will not be met but I can bring you up to speed on where I'm at and hope to be!

The good news is I have another 2 levels that are approx 75% complete, before releasing those I thought it was time to start adding the story/plot elements before players start asking themselves "why am I doing this"? Cyberdrifter was never intended to be just an arcade shooter.

I am currently finishing up development on the 0.6 update which adds plot to the current 5 levels and also introduces a Grav-gun which brings great functionality for puzzle elements that are also being introduced (nothing too taxing to break the flow).
I am aiming for 0.6 to be ready by the end of this month.

Now that I have a storyboard I am happy with I am aiming to release 3 more levels to complete the game, these will be slightly longer & more involved, combining gameplay elements learned previously. I will hold back at least one of those from early access for the full release.

Level 6 estimated release Nov/Dec 2018

Aiming for full release around May 2019 giving the game a 2 year development period.

Upcoming 0.6 story content details & beta news!

As the 0.6 story content update is gaining closer to completion, I am planning a beta for player feedback which will contain the new opening story plot/mission scenes and the new 'Grav gun' to test out in the revamped tutorial & opening mission!

Beta content & changes:
New opening title screen & story plot/mission scenes
Revamped tutorial & opening level
New visuals & new enemies with added tactics
The player is now equipped with a 'Grav-gun' that can manipulate objects & enemies from afar, as well as blast them!
The off-hand shield has been replaced - you can now 'grav' an enemy & use it as the shield!
Holding/utilising an object with the hand that is simultaneously controlling the player doesn't feel intuitive & has been disarmed. The 'Grav Gun' has you covered!
Inky black walls with neon lighting was the vision but in reality facing a black wall in VR isn't a great experience so all black walls are now textured & lit for easier navigation.
Ammo/shield pick ups from enemies & dispensers are all 'grav' able, they can now come to you!
Vignette while moving option added.

The beta will be made available next week and an announcement will be posted.
