V 0.2 - Now Testing on G.Round!

Ho there!

We are pleased to share with our community that Cyberforge will be testing this week on G.Round, a fantastic new platform for testing games. We are trilled to have been selected to join the growing list of awesome games showcased on G.Round - December 3 - 10.

As you all know we are feel early testing and feedback is crucial to making great games but it's hard to reward early access testers when you are such a small studio. That's why we think G.Round is such a wonderful idea. They have managed to build a platform that showcases great games where highly engaged player-testers can get involved in the development process. Developers, like us, get much needed feedback and market data, and players, like you, are able to build a strong community and make your voices heard. You can also collect G.Points and walk away with more than just a pat on the back. We know it sounds cheesy but believe when players and developers are engaged in the development of games, good things happen.

Huge thank you to everyone that has already tried our game, your suggestions and reviews have helped up get this far. Please consider trying the V 0.2 update to see just how far we've come. If you would like to participate in G.Round all you need to do is head to https://gameround.co/ and sign up, then enter that email when you play Cyberforge on Steam. Sign up is not necessary to try our game but who doesn't love free stuff?!

Happy Hacking and...hacking!

Cyberforge [New Version]

Hail Friends,

We would like to start this announcement by thanking everyone that has played Cyberforge, especially those that have taken the time to send us their thoughts. Your comments and suggestions help us determine which of our many tasks are most important. In this version you can expect a more balanced experience, better tuned UX, and ULTIMATE attacks for all dwarves.

Changes are too numerous to mention so here are the big ones:

  • Refactored alternate action controls to be more intuitive and user friendly (further adjustments are still in the works)
  • Balanced attack ranges and damage for all dwarves (let us know if they are feeling better)
  • Added Ultimate attacks for each dwarf (activated by pressing the EAST action button)
  • New stats for gear: Forge stronger equipment in the "safe zone"
  • Flames in safe zone will no longer deal damage (sorry about that :D)
  • Ai - various changes and bug fixes for PC controlled units. (many changes still in progress)
  • Manipulating crates with the Defender (blue dwarf) are more user friendly
  • Berzerker (magenta dwarf) no longer fails to leap in certain circumstances

As mentioned, we still have loads to do and welcome your offers of critique and encouragement.
Here is a very rough list of what we are working on for future updates:

  • Improved switch dwarf event so you instantly know which dwarf you switched to
  • Better camera movements that include important events (such as bridges activated off camera)
  • Fix Ai issues with enemies and when switching dwarves
  • General Ai improvements and deeper decision logic based on command (follow/hold position)
  • New UI with better UX for Equipment and Forging better gear
  • Replace Defender's "shield generator" action with a new utility object (barricade, auto turret)
  • Implement cool down indicator system for alt-actions (grenade, sniper shot, and barricade)
  • Recharge system for Ultimate attacks (replaces current cooldown system)
  • Add in-game feedback for trying to activate triggers with the wrong dwarf
  • and...LOADS more!

Drop comments, reviews or contact us directly through our website or social pages.

All this writing has made us thirsty! Time for a nice "dwarvenly" beverage.

Cheers!

[EARLY PREVIEW] Cyberforge: First Light v0.01

Welcome to a VERY early, behind-the-scenes peak at our new game, Cyberforge. Here's a few things we'd like you to keep in mind:

  • This is a work-in-progress (we are only 3 months into development)
  • Expect bugs, glitches and steadily improving game balance
  • The game is best played on controllers with one or two friends (co-op)
  • Only Endless mode is available
  • Expect updates frequently and regularly
  • We thrive on feedback from players (so don't be shy)

About this version (v0.01)

This is the first build open to the public. Only basic gameplay features have been implemented so far, but expect more to be added every week. Enemies will get stronger the more rooms you explore, but attacks and equipment still have not been balanced. The AI systems are all still early stage, so we recommend playing with controllers and a friend or two and ignore strange AI behavior here and there. It might also be good to note there is no real tutorial, but there are various hints in levels to help to guide you. If you're are super stuck, reach out to us, as it is probably not your fault, but ours, and we will try to fix the game so others don't get stuck the same way. We are most interested in your over-all impression and where you would like to see the game in the future (think more higher level stuff, less about this glitch or that bug). Whatever your thoughts don't hesitate to contact us, here on steam, or via our social media pages.

A little project history:

Thanks to a grant from the FPU (a Slovak fund for the arts), we were able to start work on our first steam game as a studio. Only a couple of months into development we were invited to join the Czech and Slovak developers event on steam. We decided to put the pedal to the metal to get the build in to shape (rough shape) so you could try it out.
We know there is still SO much to do, but early testing is in our blood. So we are sharing this limited version in the hopes you will play (and laugh) and then share your experience with us so that we can make the Cyberforge the best it can possibly be.
