Oculus Touch

0.1.0 Oculus Touch Support

The public SteamVR beta has limited support for Oculus Touch, so we've also added support for the Beta version.

Steam VR Public Features
The default layout is limited by the current public version of Steam VR. The Y and B buttons are used for the Steam overlay. A and X are used for menus. The grip button changes the weapon.

Steam VR Beta Features
If you install the Steam VR Beta version, turn on the Steam VR Beta option in the options panel. Steam has moved the Steam Overlay to the left menu button. That allows us to use the Y and B buttons for menus, and A and X buttons for switching weapons. The Steam VR beta also enables haptic feedback.

How to get the Steam VR Beta
To opt-in to the SteamVR Beta branch, right-click on SteamVR in your Steam Library and choose Properties. Go to the Beta tab and choose "beta - SteamVR Beta Update" from the drop-down. If SteamVR is turned off, it will update with the beta. To turn return to the normal version, follow the same process, but choose "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs".

Once the the new SteamVR update has been release out of beta, we release an update to make that the standard choice.

Climbing - Go up to a building and when you see a orange glow around your hand, you can grab it using the trigger and pull yourself up. It even works on fences and other static objects.

Grabbing - Grabbable items are indicated by a blue glow around your hands. Simply squeeze the trigger to grab them.

Jumping - Look in the direction you'd like to go, hold the Grip buttons on Both controllers and move your arms down and release. You must be grounded to use, so you can't use it while using the jetpack.

What's New in Version 0.0.7

Happy Halloween

We've added a nighttime mode with a special limited-time Halloween theme, just for the holiday. Enjoy!

Nighttime Mode
Plunge the city into darkness for a whole new experience playable throughout the all game modes. Simply shoot the jack-o-lantern in the main menu to activate it.

Touchpad Movement
Allow Modification of Touchpad/DPad movement speed through the Options menu. The speed is still proportional to where on the touchpad you touch, but this allows you set the maximum speed to suit your comfort preference. Of course, teleport only is still available. Numerous Performance Improvements

What’s New in Version 0.0.6

IMPORTANT CHANGE

The weapon switch function has been moved to the menu button. Instead of reaching behind your back, simply press the menu button to change weapons. To pause the game, hold the menu button.

Other Changes

  • Added a Jetpack - the new jetpack allows you to take to the skies to move through the city with incredible speed and agility.
  • Added touchpad movement option. Configure via the options menu for either left or right hand. You can still use the teleport feature on the other hand allowing you to pull in objects or move up onto buildings.
  • Restored Cinematic Spectator option. This turns on a mode that allows spectators to view the action via a third-person camera. NOTE: It does use significantly more GPU resources, so if you are running into performance limits, you may not want to use it.
  • Added the ability to selectively enable weapons for each hand. This dramatically reduces the time to switch weapons.
  • Updated the HUD display to better convey messages and level ends stats.
  • Improved player projectile appearance and speed, making it easier to target enemies.
  • Adjusted difficulty across all levels.
  • Added additional allies to help in the fight.
  • Made weapons available on earlier levels
  • Added the ability to pick-up objects using the grip buttons on your controller. Pick-up and throw cars and debris from around the level. At the moment these can only be used as shields, not weapons against the robots, but that feature is planned.
  • You can now fall if you step off buildings or items. If you have the stomach for it try jumping off a skyscraper. Currently there is no damage assessed.
  • Added Camera Mode - When in pause menu - select the camera icon to hide the UI. This makes it easier to take screenshots.
  • Toned-down weapons effects.
  • Added a Help Guide
  • Miscellaneous bug-fixes and performance improvements.

New Update With Major Performance Boost

We've implemented changes to improve performance significantly.

With the update we've also changed the default quality level to Beautiful. Higher settings should work well too, but may vary depending on the performance of your system.

Unfortunately, we've had to temporarily remove the Cinematic option from the Spectator View options. We plan to reintroduce that feature when possible.

Other changes:
- Increased rocket ammo in Parking Attendant
- Added additional allies to more levels
- Reduced time on Party Popper to 2 minutes
- Menu responsiveness improved

New Update Available with Performance Improvements

For those of you who have experienced performance issues we want you to know that it is our top priority.

We've implemented a number of improvements in the latest update. If you haven't received it yet, check your download manager and request the update.

Additionally the default quality level has been changed to Good which provides a balance performance and quality.

Finally we've added an option to turn off the spectator camera which can significantly help performance while playing the game.

We will continue to focus on performance improvements with each update.
