Update 1.4: Bug Fixes!

More bugs have been squished!

First, sorry for there not being an update on Friday, we had a few issues which prevented us from putting up a patch for the weekend. But with this patch we've managed to fix quite a few bugs!

Change log;

  • Modified the Scoring System + Leaderboard.

  • Fixed a bug which displayed the wrong number of destructible objects on a level (players could achieve higher than the maximum)

  • Also fixed a bug which set all the destructible objects for each floor to be 41. This made it impossible for certain achievements to be unlocked. This has been fixed now.

  • Implemented the End-Game achievements. Previously they would not unlock. They do now!

  • Floor based achievements work properly now too!

  • Destroyed object counter now resets when the player restarts the scene/level/room through the pause menu.

  • A memory leak was caused by Unity Shadows - with a Unity Update it has now been fixed!

  • Using the weapon selector would also move the character, and the game continued as normal. The game now pauses and the player does not move.

  • A missing object has been added to Floor 81, scene 18

  • On exiting the pause menu by pressing fire, you used to shoot a bullet. This has been fixed so now you no longer have to worry about shooting survivors!

OSX Version Just released

The OSX version of D/Generation HD has just gone live. We hope all Mac fans of the original and any new fans of this game enjoy this version.

Update 1.3 More Bug Fixes + OSx Release!

Hi all!

We've done some more bug fixes for this patch and added a few options for players to tweak. As always a changelog is shown below so you know whats changed and fixed.

Also, good news! Tomorrow we will be releasing the OSx version of D/Generation, meaning Mac users will be able to play D/Generation HD too!

As promised here is the change log;

  • Fixed the Objects destroyed display counter on the left. It was incorrectly showing the total number of destructible objects in the game for some floors. It should now correctly show the total number per floor.

  • Added in a missing object to the second floor!

  • Corrected the requirements needed to obtain the Destroyed Objects achievements. Previously it was impossible to obtain the "Breaking Toys" achievement. This should now be possible.

  • Added in graphics options. The resolution of the game can now be changed! Players can also change/set the graphics quality.

  • Transparency of walls has been increased when a player, object etc is behind them.

Cheers!

Update 1.2 Bug Fixes

Hi everyone!

We've managed to fix a few more bugs and solve a few more issues. Both reported and unreported. Below is a list of what we've done today!

  • Save Games/Load Games work properly now - previously players could load and the level would have been reset, sometimes trapping players. This has been fixed

  • Walking through doors no longer flickers.

  • Players can now go closer to the walls (appearance only)

  • A major bug which on rare occasions prevented the player moving/firing their gun on the transition from first to second floor has been fixed. Resetting the level on this floor/room also works as intended now too.

  • Leaderboards* have been tweaked - everyone's scores were the same. This has been fixed and now reflects people's actual scores. You can increase your score(s) by unlocking achievements (250pts), Killing A,B,C and D Gens (2, 4, 8 and 100pts respectively) as well as worms (25pts). You also get points for destroying objects (2pts per object) and saving survivors (25 pts). However you can also lose points as follows; Killed by A,B,C,DGens (2, 5, 9 and 100pts lost each time), killed by a worm (25pts lost each time), killed by environment (Electric pads etc - 2pts each time). You also lose points for killing survivors also (-6pts each time).

    Only your highest scores will be displayed, so if you lose a few points you will still keep your highest score to show off to others!

  • Player can no longer kill the AGens when they are being absorbed/killed by them. They can still be killed by being hit by the Pink lasers on some levels, essentially saving the player.

*Because of these changes to leaderboards, we've had to reset everyone's scores (which were all 10,000 anyway). So now they should properly reflect your actual score!

***We have enabled the Unity Dialog, allowing you to choose your resolution, however we have not yet been able to hide the Inputs tab. Please do not change these settings as it could very well break your game!!!***

As always, any issues let us know!

Cheers,

West Coast Software Team

Update 1.1: Fixes and LEADERBOARDS!

First update has addressed many of the issues brought up the past few days. Below is a change log of all the changes we've made today;

  • Leaderboards have now been implemented, and should upload your scores periodically. They use Steam's own Leaderboards as such can be viewed through the Steam Client (View All Achievements).
  • Added yellow markers to show the player where the buttons are.
  • Made the Laser pick up more obvious.
  • Fixed the issue where the player would try to throw a grenade and the animation + sound happens but no grenade is thrown. The sound + animation no longer play as intended.
  • Fixed the issue where the player would try to fire their laser if too close to the wall and the animation would play but no laser would be fired. The animation no longer plays as intended.
  • Disabled V Sync, this should enable the game to run at 60 FPS now.

Also, we are working on releasing a Tutorial/Game Manual and it should be ready soon, explaining the basics of the game etc.

We are also working on getting graphics options added so players can customize these options in the near future.

Any more issues, please let us know ASAP!

Cheers,

West Coast Software team
