we are about to have a test tomorrow, Sunday, 29th of July - starting at 2 PM CEST and lasting for 5 hours.

We had such a good time yesterday, we decided it is time to make tests more often, so make sure to track our announcements from now on! It is a full game mode test!

Streaming is allowed, as well as recording, but please note that it is still an early game version and there is so much more to come!

Testing continuing next week. Exciting stuff in the making!


Hey everyone, just a quick update.

We will continue alpha testing in seven days, around Tuesday. Yeah, we know, the timer in the menu is wrong. Well it's fixed now, sorry about that!

The next test should take place on Tuesday, July the 17th, around 8 pm CEST. It should stay open for at least 12 hours, and it should feature the full game mode.

If anything changes, we will let you guys know both here and on our Discord.

The original plan was to do the test on Sunday, but that is when the World Cup finals are, and as a big portion of our alpha testing community follows football, we don't want to mess up their plans by clashing the testing with it.

In the meantime, we are preparing a big update blog post for all of you eager to hear what we are cooking.

What we can say for now is that the previous tests helped us IMMENSELY in terms of figuring out the play dynamics, dealing with the map size game design wise, and noticing some of our mistakes and wrong conclusions in the past about how the game should work and look.

In addition to that, you guys found a pile of bugs and we solved most of them by this point.

That is why we are taking so much time to fix it up, especially considering this should be the full game mode.

First Official Alpha Test Tomorrow! Here is a quick FAQ.



Only one day and couple of hours left until the alpha starts! Woooooo! If you don't have your key already, nudge us on Discord and we will send you one!

Some development hurdles and your feedback and bug reports - of course - changed our plans a bit, so here is a quick FAQ to tell you what to expect:

1. When does the alpha start? How long will it be open?
Alpha will start on Saturday, June the 16th - around 8 pm CEST time. It will be open until 12 pm CEST. Yes, we will keep it online for only 4 hours this first time. We will prolong the alpha time as we go on with the testing.

2. I am a streamer, can I stream it?
No streaming or recording yet.

Sorry about that guys, we know we told a couple of you we will try to make it streamable around the first testing date, but we didn't manage to make a complete gameplay demo yet, so there is no point in streaming it and we don't want the users to get a wrong impression about what the game is.

We love Streamers and Youtubers and we plan to allow streaming around 5th of July (can't say for certain yet but that is our goal). Just a bit more patience guys!

3. So it won't be the full gameplay? Oh snap.
Unfortunately, not yet. We had quite a bit of development problems and a lot of reports from you guys to work on, which messed up our plans, so we have to further delay the full gameplay. It will feature a custom game mode we plan to leave in as an optional mode though if you guys will like it.

4. Oh noes! Can we at least finally try the demon?
Yes. The demon will be included in this alpha testing, finally! We will play a game mode similar to what we presented at Infogamer expo a couple of years back. 1 player will be the demon, and everyone else gets guns. Whoever kills the demon will become the demon, but only the demon can get the score for his kills!

5. So, you are taking your time again? HUH?
Well, yes and no.

We are in a development phase now where it takes a lot of time to do stuff, since everything needs to be as polished and as bug free as possible.

Much of the stuff is ready for the final gameplay, it's just that we don't want to give you an unfinished and unpolished version of it, that is why we are giving you a custom game mode to play first. We want to avoid a situation where you guys report stuff to us that we already know about. Also, in this mode there will be lots of interactions and more people on the server than usual, so it will all break much more than in the normal mode.

That is the point of the testing! To break stuff!

We are working on the game constantly, 7 days a week for a while now, so we can assure you we are doing our best. You guys must consider the fact that we also had to rewrite much of the game systems that you saw working on the expos we attended.

6. Is there a limit to players in game?
We are currently limited to 100 concurrent players ingame. So if you don't get in, just try in a couple of minutes. The limit will go away some time in July, once we allow streaming and wrap up the full gameplay.

7. Can I play with my friends?
Currently the matchmaking is random and without a party system. Sorry about that, we didn't implement a party system yet. But as soon as we get the full game version done, we will implement it. So it will just be missing for the first few testings.

8. How long will alpha testing phase last in general?
We will test the game throughout the June and July. We plan to release it in early access around the end of July or if there will be problem, the very start of August.

9. I can't make it for this test, when is the next one? Also, why only 4 hours? My time zone won't allow me to play!
The next test will be next Sunday at the same time as this one. The first few tests will be short like this, but later we will make the testing go for at least 12-24 hours so everyone can play.

10. So tests will be every weekend?
Well, not certain, but definitely plan is to test at least once a week. Every test we will announce the next test.

11. Where do I report the bugs and give feedback?
Although we planned to do an in-game bug report system (which we still might do when the full version testing starts), for now we will gather feedback and reports on our Discord.

Private alpha delayed a little bit! No worries though!



Hey everyone,

yes, you've read the title right. We have to delay the alpha a bit! Oh noes!

Well, it's not such a huge delay. But we will take 2 extra weeks to wrap things up. So the official alpha will start around 16th of June.

The reason for this delay is actually all of you guys! So many of you redeemed keys (more than double that we expected!), that we need to take time to make sure things are stable and prepared for so many players!

Additionally, many Streamers and Youtubers signed up for the alpha, and we need to make sure official private alpha launch is as complete as it gets, gameplay and mechanics wise. That wasn't really the plan at the start, but now that we fully expect the game to get some exposure at the private alpha launch, we must do some more stuff to get it ready!

Hope you guys understand. We are not trying to annoy you, it just takes time to polish stuff and solve the bugs you guys reported to us on closed private alpha tests. <3

Alpha Testing Continues!


Hey everyone,
we continue to alpha test on our Discord, preparing for a full blown private alpha which will start around 1st of June, with keys being send out a bit earlier. We will have scheduled alpha tests every few days.

So if you are not on our Discord yet, make sure to join us there.

Testing focus so far was on the shooting mechanics/player interaction, and we did a ton of work on it, ranging from bug fixes, implementing hit zones, lag compensation, gun modifications, new vegetation system, and so much more. Once we start doing a full blown alpha test, we will start a development blog where each update will be explained in full. Also we will likely hold AMA twitch sessions after each testing ends.

First Alpha Test Finished!


We had a first alpha test today guys!

It was really small, with less than 10 people participating. Since we will be testing for the next ~2 months, we got enough time to take it a bit slower than we first anticipated. That is why we will continue to do smaller tests this week, with them expanding to a base of 10 000 alpha testers starting some time next week!

So if you didn't get your key yet, don't worry, you will surely get it in the next 10-15 days. For now we are keeping the player base tight until we test the core basics, since we don't want to have major bugs on a bigger scale alpha test.

The testing will be open on weekends for the first month, and as we get closer to the final version, we will make the tests more often.

What we are testing is multiplayer movement, lag compensation, server stability, and so on. We are not testing the real gameplay yet, since we are running the game in a sandbox mode for easier test of the core systems.

The test went well, with bugs being mainly focused on non-crucial game systems, and easily fixable.

Early Access Teaser Trailer #2 released!


We have released yet another trailer for Daemonical! It is at least twice as awesome as the last one, check it out:

As you can see in the trailer, we have really worked on the looks, characters, demon shading, and other eye candy. All because of you guys! Many of you told us characters don't look on par with the rest of the game, so we did our best to make them look better.

We plan to release the alpha on Wednesday, May the 9th. First we will send out around 2000 keys just to try things out. When they break (and they probably will, as with all games), we will fix it, and send another batch. In 3-4 batches we will come to the total of around 9000 players that have applied for tha alpha so far. In case you don't get the key first, don't panic! You will get it in a day or two!

We hope to polish out the bugs, balance out the game and work a bit more on the mechanics through the alpha, and release it in Early Access soon after that, some time during Q2 this year.

As we are already in the Q2, needless to say, we are stressed out and working as hard as ever.

Last thing to mention is how thankful we are for all of your feedback and immense support throughout our channels.
