Introducing The Alchemist's Compendium and World Tendency

We're proud to announce the first content update for Dandy is finally here!



This update includes two really big new features. Both of these features were built with expansion in mind, and they'll grow and change with the feedback we get from you guys.

The Alchemist's Compendium



Complete research goals to unlock new Candy ingredients and discover the mysteries of Dandy's world. There are 9 new power-ups and a ton of helpful hints to unlock.

World Tendency



The game now adapts to your skill by introducing new evolved enemies. The better you do, the more of these evolved enemies will show up to keep you on your toes.



Bug Fixes - v1.5


Finally, we've used all your useful feedback to make Dandy significantly more stable!


  • Fixed possible crash when collecting a powerup while an enemy bullet is still active.
  • Fixed highlighting on volume controls when using a controller.
  • Wad no longer homes if behind Dandy.
  • Blob no longer explodes if behind Dandy.
  • Fixed memory leak when returning to main menu.
  • Adjusted powerup statue positions on the map.
  • Balanced final boss hp.
  • Decreased overall memory usage.

v.1.0.11.1 Patch Notes


  • Rewrote Power-up code to prevent crashes when collecting a power-up.
  • Increased the base scrolling speed to slightly reduce the time between encounters.
  • Improved frame rate stability during high-cpu usage.
  • Fixed Idlephobe (green shield guy) getting stuck if he changed states too quickly.
  • Reflected bullets will now scale correctly.
  • Spitball and Popper (upgraded Jumper variants) now correctly continue moving forward when hit.

v.1.0.11 Patch Notes

We'll have something more exciting for you guys soon, but a couple of bug fixes for now.

  • Fixed crash on obtaining a powerup - The game would crash if it was unable to communicate with Steam to check achievements.
  • Fixed NG+ Achievements - These had a bug that prevented unlocking if they had failed to unlock in the past.
  • Added a notification if the game is unable to communicate with Steam.
  • Improved performance on integrated graphics cards. We'll officially list them on the minimum system requirements after some more testing.

v1.0.10 Patch Notes

We're still working on a larger update, but we wanted to get these bug fixes out as soon as possible.


  • Fixed New Game+ Achievements - These were checked in the wrong order, but are now fixed.
  • Multi-display Resolution Switching - Users with multiple displays that share the same name but support different resolutions should be able to change resolutions correctly now.
  • Laptops with Hybrid Graphics - Dandy should now automatically activate your high performance graphics card if your laptop supports it (e.g., NVIDIA Optimus)
  • Fixed a rare crash with certain combinations of powerups
