It's been about 2 years since we released this. At the time VR was small and multiplayer was smaller.

We ran out of the little funding we had and the game was quite ambitious. But we would much rather you play it now for free and enjoy it for what it is!

Update (4/19/2018)

As many of you know there has not been an update for Dark in a long time.

We realized this is a much bigger project than we originally intended. For players (and for us) to be happy with the game we need a lot more systems for multiplayer and beyond. I would like to remind you that PotatoFaceGames is an Indie Developer with limited man power and resources. (aka we're small) I PotatoFaceJames am a Game Developer freelancer and have been working on more projects to bring you multiplayer VR games (and the studio some money so we can spend the time working on Dark). However, sadly that means that for now Dark has been put on the back burner for PotatoFaceGames.

The game is still a good early preview of what we're making. (and is still very fun and entertaining to play) Any sale that is made still contributes towards the development of this game.

New Mode: Endlesss with four new maps specifically for smashing baddies in the face. Designed for quick in and out gameplay: perfect for arcades.

  • Slime

    • Vomits on you!
    • Grows in size when it kills slimes

  • Skeleton Arm

    • Has a chance to spawn after you kill skeletons
    • Will leap at you and try to grab you, dealing DPS when it grabs hold

    • Now has weakpoint, hit it for extra damage and explosions!

Upgrading Unreal Engine version to 4.17



Upgrading the engine from 4.15 to 4.17 has been most of my day today but i'm glad to say that its done and working!

This is going to bring a whole HOST of utilities and optimization. One I'm really excited for is the spectator camera (pictured).

It will allow people who aren't in VR to better be able to see whats going on the virtual world.

Testing branch now includes beta modes for 1.1

Hi everyone, PotatoFaceJames here! Spent some time this week doing more utility and bug fixes. Got a LOT of great feedback from everyone, as a lot of what is on this list was feedback from users.

v1.0.0.1 Patch notes:



General

  • Added water physics and post processing for the water in Frontier
  • Added Sprint Function: Click in movement to sprint

    • Rogue doesn't have sprint, still has dash ability
    • 2 seconds of stamina/2 seconds recharge, still working on audio cues

  • Updated Server Browser

    • New Quickmatch button
    • Easier interaction + visual feedback

  • Updated Weapon physics

    • Velocity based
    • better hit responses
    • can hit multiple enemies with one swing


Paladin

  • smite now works even if not grabbing sword (this lets the player wield the sword in either hand)
  • shield has more reliable hitbox


Wizard

  • haptic feedback on spells
  • fixed particle effect overglow on fire/ice beam

Early Access!!!

This is it! We're bringing our flagship title to Steam.



It feels like we've been working on this for so long, and even though everyone here is super tired; We're also super excited!

Last night we had a great time debuting our game here at VR Austin. Huge shout out to them for putting everything together at that amazing venue that is Vuka North Lamar and ImpactHub. Also a big thank you to FarBridge for sponsoring it and making sure our computers had a wired connection.
