New Story Mode Update with new ilustrations
Finally i got ilustrations for story mode! I dreamed for this feature since the initial development of the game (2018) and its finally here!!!
gotta tell'ya... i think they look gorgeous!

I think now, the story mode is waaaaaay more flashed out!

As some of you may know, im developing "Dark Old Sun II: Unspace" for some time now, and its plot gonna be way more intrincated and complex than before, and its a continuation exactly after the first game, so i think this game deserves some attention regarding the plot!

New update, balance and some reworks
This new changes are focused in making some weapons more flashed out and sometimes more powerfull, as well making them a little more interesting and fun to use.
Playing in extreme difficulty now seems a little more balanced around some specific places.
Shorting out some boring boss phases.
New game cover and header for the new steam library.

Detailed changes are as follows:

  • New Checkpoint added to fourth stage, it was only one before (hope this makes things less tiring in extreme difficulty).
  • Mini Aliens that appear in extreme difficulty, doesnt do damage anymore, but they push more on impact.
  • Life and energy UI are reduced in size for those who are playing for the first time.
  • There was a bug with lasers after level 3, specifically if playing with controller, that made lasers aim wrong. (fixed now).
  • In The stage "The Void", in the last part before the first checkpoint, laser ships dosnt come with shields anymore in the extreme difficulty. (Yeah yeah, it was unfair as
  • ***).
  • Changed how ultima drone works, it spawns instantly regardless upgrade level, and it always shot coming from the ship.
  • Ultima drone with lasers, is stronger now, follwing "secundary weapons laser" level, x4.
  • Also, ultima drone witrh lasers, last 50 ticks longer (about 1 second).
  • Second boss, blackhole part, time reduced from 90 to 45 seconds.
  • Shotgun reworked (and buffed)
  • Shotgun projectiles goes through the end of the screen, they dosnt disappear anymore.
  • Fifth upgrade removed, now it increases projectile speed.
  • Initial bullet spread radius reduced from 100 to 80, and -14 per level.
  • Third boss, where the head stay centered, life reduced from 200 to 80.

4:3 resolution with letterbox
For those who uses a 4:3 monitor, now you can use this acessibility option to add a letterbox to the game, this way the game dont cut the edges anymore.

Description of weapons in select ship screen.
During the classic menu where you choose the ship, now you can check what which weapon and ability do, with individual descriptions for each weapon of that ship.

New update! Stage selection and some corrections
- New content

* Added a new stage selection, where you can choose a already reach stage, continuing with the same crystal amount you had at the time.
º Sadly, this is not retroactive, so you need to reach that stage again to unlock the stage in the select screen.



- Corrections

* The Aliens that is part of the third boss body, now they blink properly when hit

- Balance

* When the second part of the second boss is destroyed, it will drop 4 life crystals in normal or 2 in hard.
* Resets on upgrades, can now be uses once per stage.

Now on Linux/SteamOS too!
Finally the game is available to all 3 major platforms! PC, Mac and Linux!
