I just released 1.0.3 which contains some smaller fixes and improvements:

Features:

  • General - Added variable start time to custom game
  • RTS - Inform player that units will take damage if all portals are destroyed
  • FPS - Health pack icon blinks when health is low


Bug fixes:

  • FPSAI - Fixed: FPSAI will no longer report the same enemy twice, reducing reporting
  • RTS - Fixed: Strange unit alignment to the ground for ripperdogs
  • RTS - Fixed: No tabbing in UI-overlay

Update 1.0.2



Hello everyone,

Second update after 1.0 that includes new features and a lot of balancing:

Many of you have reported that the FPS AI does not seem to revive players. This was because it was focusing on killing all the nearby enemies first. Now, revival continues when more than 40% are already through the revive process. Also, they now play much more aggressively instead of passively keeping their distance from enemies, which makes them a much better companion.

In terms of RTS, there was a lot of concern that you can only spam TItans to win a match, so I have added a limit (50%) on the large units you can have at any one time, this includes Fats and Titans.
To mitigate the change, you can now buy an in-game upgrade to increase this limit to 75%.

Features:

  • RTS - Added perk -> more units with less health (without the need of a custom game)
  • RTS - Made portal waypoints better visible (through tree and underground etc.)

  • FPSAI - Should move backward, if enemies not walking towards them
  • FPSAI - Continues reviving when interrupted by a monster and already revived to more than 40%.

  • General - Extended perk tooltip
  • General - Added brightness setting
  • General - Added japenese localization

Balancing:

  • FPS - Changed loadout FPS weapons price to make multiple combinations possible
  • RTS - Titan / fat limit 50% of max units
  • RTS - Added new ingame upgrade to increase Big units cap to 75%
  • RTS - Rework prices for ingame upgrades

  • General - Increase custom game rewards to 40%

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed: FPS - Molotov close range does not explode
  • Fixed: General - Incorrect text in loadout after exchange
  • Fixed: General - Shadows with medium quality dissappear too early

Update 1.0.1



Hello everyone,

The last days, I watched a lot of games and collected a lot of problems with version 1.0.
This results in the first hot fix containing the most problematic issues:

Bug fixes:

  • FPS - Fixed: Molotov and grenades do not always register hits on Titan/Fat
  • FPS - Fixed: Flares not visible if shadow quality is set to medium

  • RTS - Fixed: Units sometimes get stuck on destroyed buildings
  • RTS - Fixed: Unit spawn buttons not always register every click
  • RTS - Fixed: Always writes to all chat

  • General - Fixed: Bot all sounds were assigned to sound groups, so changing volume had no effect


I also wanted to thank again everyone who bought Dark Prospect and thank you for all the feedback.
I'm very happy with the sales and there are a lot more people online now. I hope this continues and that there is always someone online to play.

Dark Prospect 1.0 released 🎉



After more than 2.5 years in Early Access and more than 25 updates, I'm releasing version 1.0 of Dark Prospect today. Originally I planned to leave EA after 1.5 years, but the community had so many great ideas that the implementation took a little bit longer.

1.0 what does that mean?


First of all it doesn't mean that the development ends, but that Dark Prospect is now in a stable state with all features and polishing done and I want to show it to a wider mass of players. There will still be new features and of course bug fixes (hopefully there will be few needed).

To give you a small overview of what has happened in the last years, here are the most important features:


  • 3 new maps
  • 2 new spells for RTS
  • FPS bots (that was a big one)
  • 2 new RTS unit
  • new monster models and abilities
  • RTS/FPS loadout
  • progress system / perks for RTS and FPS
  • in-game voice chat
  • private server / custom settings
  • and many many more smaller features and balancing




With version 1.0 I have added many more localizations including:

  • English
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Portuguese
  • Korean
  • Simplified Chinese


To celebrate, there's also a big discount, so grab your friends and get playing.

I would also like to thank my great community, which has supported me with many great ideas and with finding bugs. Also the many fun rounds we played together were always something special.

Hello everyone,

I just released update 0.9.9, the last update before 1.0, which is again about balancing and bug fixing.
I'm really looking forward to working on new features again after 1.0.


Features / Balancing:


  • RTS - Increased death time for units after all portals are destroyed from 40 sec to 90 sec
  • General - Singleplayer more monsters with less health


Bug fixes:


  • FPS - Fixed: Weapon shown also if mounted
  • FPS - Fixed: Pickup item sometimes shows weapon
  • FPS - Fixed: FPS sometimes cannot drop turret if placed a building before
  • FPS - Fixed: Turrets can shoot through wall

  • General - Fixed: Incorrect status of win screen


What's next:

One more update to version 1.0 :-)
This last update will include localization and cleanup.

Update 0.9.8



Hello everyone,

I just released the first update for this year: 0.9.8, which includes a requested feature, FPS auto-reload.
Personally, I like to press reload manually, but since the auto-reload can be interrupted any time, it shouldn't have any downsides.
I also increased the progress points that RTS can earn, as they were far behind what FPS can earn per game. Also, some RTS spells have been improved.

Features:

  • FPS - Added auto-reload
  • FPSAI - Improve pathfinding on Fortress map

  • RTS - Spells and upgrades now give more progression points
  • RTS - Improved spells (stronger heal, no damage to units by gas)
  • RTSAI - Can cast earthquake

Bug fixes:

  • FPS - Fixed: clang sound on mars scrab
  • FPS - Fixed: shotgun model on medium looking bad
  • FPS - Fixed: med pickup sound always hearable
  • FPS - Fixed: workbench prebuild takes too much building space
  • FPS - Fixed: Unconscious + moving = not falling completely
  • FPS - Fixed: multiple revive and instand kill -> leads to no hitbox

  • General - Fixed: Fixed: Lobby - presets not synced
  • General - Fixed: hairs visible after dissolve of units
  • General - Increased building parts explosion

  • RTSAI - Fixed: Does not cast spells if all upgrade are done


Two more updates and we exactly hit 1.0 :-)

Update 0.9.7



Hello everyone,

I just released the last update for this year: 0.9.7 which adds a waypoint system for the RTS AI.
This is important because the AI always takes the shortest route, which is not always the best choice.
So now it can use the tunnel in the Fortress map, as well as different routes on Mars and Crossroads, making it even more fun to play against RTS AI.

Features:


  • General - Added RTS-AI Waypoints.
  • FPS - Axe clang for not collectable ressources.
  • FPS - Add axe woosh sound.
  • RTS - Made waypoints more visible.
  • RTS - Added in-game tutorial for RTS.


What's coming next year?
Dark Prospect will leave Early Access in the first quarter of 2023.
Therefore, I have planned 3 updates until 1.0, which will mainly focus on improvements and bug fixes.
With 1.0 development will not stop, but the game will be in a good state to present it to many more people.

Update 0.9.6



Hello everyone,

I just released version 0.9.6, which mainly contains bug fixes and some minor features.
For the custom game mode, I added some presets which I found quite fun to play, if you have a preset you want to have in the game, just let me know!

  • General - Add presets for custom games

  • General - Add option to disable in-game tutorial seperate from tooltips

  • RTS - Flying units now prefer flying up to avoid obstacle and much faster
