I believe that transparency is important when it comes to game development. It is with that note that I have a bit of mixed news when it comes to the Sequel to DashBored: Mechana. Unfortunately, around a year ago, it became clear that the Engine Mechana was being developed on was simply not going to cut it. Though it ran well on my PC, any standard PC would run that Engine at a solid 7 FPS. This is simply not acceptable in my book. Along with my inexperience with 3D games development, it contributed to a slow and arduous development process which would not have resulted in a satisfactory game. It was not an easy decision, but I have made the decision to switch development on DashBored 2 to a new engine, Unity. Unity's development process is far faster, and leads to a far more performant game than the previous engine. However, this didn't cover my own inexperience with 3D development. That is what DREAMWILD has been for, to learn the tools necessary to build a full scale 3D game. With DREAMWILD, I have become so much faster and skilled in 3D, I can easily outpace my previous output. This isn't to say that the entire game of Mechana has been scrapped. The graphical assets, Soundtrack (of over 70 tracks currently), story, and certain mechanics will carry over. This, along with my new skills in developing in a 3D environment, I believe will allow for a development which is both more efficient, and leads to a much better game. Mechana is still in heavy development, just in a new engine, which will allow for MUCH more powerful and unique gameplay. I promise that I am working hard to make the best games that I can, and Mechana is no exception. Look forward to more updates on DB2: Mechana in the near future, I'm very excited to show off what I have got! In the meantime, please check out DREAMWILD, I think that any fan of DashBored will find it to be a unique and fun adventure!
Thanks for everything, -Karbonic

DashBored: Crystal Clear! Update Now Available!
A Brand New Update is now available for DashBored!
This update is mainly an improvement update, meaning that it seeks to clean up and update a lot of old content in DashBored. Even so, a LOT has changed. Let's take a look!
Improved Face Sprites!
Though the Face Sprites have been slowly changed over the years, many of them have remained old and unedited. A lot of them were rather ugly looking. Now, many characters have had their faces updated to be both more expressive, and more on-model! Take a look! Almost all of the main characters have been affected in some way, as well as many of the background characters as well!
Improved Battle Backgrounds!
Every single old Battle Background has been remade to fit the resolution of the game properly! If I do say myself, it makes a big difference in how battles look.
Improved Dialogue!
A lot of old dialogue was somewhat stale and outdated, now, many important scenes have been totally overhauled to be more lore-friendly and less sloppy. I hope you'll enjoy checking out these improved scenes!
Improved Overworld Sprites!
Even More Characters' overworld Sprites have been improved or totally redone! Some Characters that have redone include:
Eloise

Old Men NPCs
And a lot more! Have fun checking out these characters in a new crystal clear vision!
Brand New Music!
A whole collection of new and improved music has been added! Areas with new music include:

Russian Hideout
Undersyde
M&J area
Precipice
While Driving
New Boss Music
New Special Enemy Music
And more on top of that!
Improved Area Graphics!
A few places have had their tilesets improved, but most notably Gourdemoore and Undersyde! Check out these places with a fresh coat of paint!

On the topic of Mechana...
For those of you looking forward to DashBored 2: Mechana, Development is moving forward smoothly. I don't have a crazy demo video to show off right now, but I've got a lot of really cool stuff that I can't wait to show off in the near future! Take a look at these screenshots! (Click to Enlarge)
I hope you all enjoy everything this update has to offer! I really gave it my all, and I'm very happy with the results. As always, if you run into any bugs, or just have some feedback, feel free to let me know, I'm always happy to hear from you.

Follow the Development of DashBored 2!
The Sequel to DashBored, Mechana, is heading into full development!
Development is in full force, and it's my goal to make the best game I can!
DashBored 2: Mechana is the story of a lost soul who finds herself aboard a massive lifepod known as the Fragment. Within the Fragment, entire chunks of land have been taken away from their original resting place, along with all of the people and entities which resided on them. Will you be able to discover the secrets deep inside the Fragment? What lurks in the bizarre dark space beyond? Who created the Fragment, and why? All of these mysteries and more lie in wait in DashBored 2: Mechana!
Featuring 21 tracks, DashBored: Extras! is a free collection of musical tracks that were added to DashBored after the Justice update, as well as some never before heard unused tracks that never saw the light of day. On top of that, DashBored: Extras! even includes four brand new pieces of music from the upcoming DB2: Mechana! Give them a listen!
This is a small patch that mainly seeks to fix certain problems. Even so, some improvements have also been made.
Improvements
Redone Parallax background for Nowhere
Redone Battleback for Nowhere
Redone Music for Nowhere
Improved Miscellaneous Tileset Decorations
Added Enoch into ending scenes he was previously missing from

DashBored Clean Up-Date now available!
DashBored Clean Update is now available! The goal of this update is to clean up as many little problems as I could find. I hope you enjoy all of the improvements that come with this update!
Changes:
Redone NPC Overworld Sprites! A lot of the NPCs' overworld sprites have remained unchanged since 2016, and because of that, a lot of them were certainly starting to look a bit crusty. Almost all old NPC Sprites have been reworked! Either they have been completely redone from the ground up, or they have been retouched to look much better and to convey more personality than ever before! Here's a few examples! And many more have been updated! I hope you'll enjoy going through the game and meeting everyone with a new look!
Completely Redone Dungeons! The caves leaving Undersyde were always a terribly designed waste of the player's time. Now they have been completely redone to have more engaging mechanics and brand new enemies!
Likewise, the caves leading to the frog king have been expanded, and now hold their own brand new dangerous enemies!
Unique Battlebacks! Certain areas now have uniquely drawn battle backgrounds! These should really set the mood!
Redone Mini-Boss Sprites A few minibosses have recieved completely new sprites! These should give them more personality, and give them a bit of unique flair during their fights!
Minor Changes
Fixed Problem causing "Distressing Demigod" Achievement to be unachievable
Fixed glitch allowing players to stand still and survive electric panels in satellite dungeon
Made Electric Panels more forgiving, they now have a charge up time and more visually apparent graphics
Fixed a problem causing the heat wave visual effect to not appear in Satellite Boiler
Added visually notable and animated buttons to Vurrus door code puzzle
Redone various cutscene graphics
Redetailed various tilesets to make world graphics pop more in certain areas
Redone Common Attack animations to be more visually interesting
New Car Overworld Graphic
Nic now appears smaller and moves slower on the main map
Buffed Insult, now more likely to inflict 'Sad'
Buffed Champion Shawl
Added higher speed Debuff to Heavy Shawl
Nicolas now starts with Violent Grab and learns Insult, rather than vice versa
Added slight visual effect to underwater section of water treatment plant
Fixed problem where Occidere would lead the group in the water treatment plant instead of Isaac
Fixed issue causing two Midori and Jacks to appear in Day 3
Extended various musical pieces into full tracks
Fixed glitch where Nic could enter an empty house from the overworld
Changed audio levels in various places to make the sound levels more uniform (Still needs work)
Fixed Cutscenes still using old Nicolas sprites
Redid town introduction logos to be more interesting and visually distinct
Added boarders to overworld map, should now look more visually pleasing
A new door has appeared in the world map of Day 3. What could it be? Only time will tell!
Thank you for playing DashBored! It always means a lot to me to see people playing and discussing my work! I hope you enjoy playing this update, and the new content it brings to the table! I'm always open to hear feedback, so if you have any, just go ahead and shoot me a message! Have a great day!
Sincerely, Karbonic
