Data Hacker: Reboot

We've gone to retail!

Hurrah! Confetti, cheering people, hands clapping!

It's been a long, long road to this point. And there's much more to come - no doubt there will be a couple of minor bugs here and there (such is the nature of software) which I'll address as they're mentioned in the forums.

I have some pretty cool idea for free DLC packs for you guys, which I'll get to working on right away.

There's also the inevitable sequel which is planned, but for the moment I'm going to start on something a little... different to my usual work. I'll keep you posted on that one, of course.

For now, old fans and new, please do enjoy the latest in the Datastream Saga. There's much more to come, so < insert cliché here >.

Build v1.0.0 is here!

We're pretty much ready to go to retail! Thank you all, so much, for your help in addressing bugs and balancing issues during our time in Early Access.

I'm going to give it another few days, during which time I'll be playing through the game again in the hope that taking different customisation paths will open up some more opportunities to fish out and tweak any abnormalities throughout.

Thanks again guys! We did good.

Please, please drop by the store page and stick a review up. It really helps for potential customers to see what you've enjoyed and disliked about the game (if anything at all) during your time experiencing it.

V0.9.8 Change Log

We're at a point now where I'm relatively happy with the content level of the game, though I do have some ideas for free DLC updates after the retail launch.

Now all that's left to do is thoroughly test the game to ensure balance and compatibility! To do this I'm doing a thorough play-through myself, as well as taking on board the observations of the other beta testers.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the testers for helping the project to grow and ensure that the game is as enjoyable as possible for all Data Hacker fans.

V 0.7.3 Change Log

So! I intend to be releasing patch notes every time I make a significant update to the game. Today is mostly fixes and tweaks, but most notably, I've dropped the script that was used to fullscreen the game, in favour of one that resizes to the monitor's proportions.

For those of you with an existing save file, you can save your preferences (that would normally be set at game start) by opening up the Beta console and hitting 'resolution settings'. There, you can switch between 960x540, 1440x900 or what I like to call 'fitscreen' (kinda like fullscreen, but it's still technically in windowed mode).

# v0.7.3

# Fixed more collision errors
# Fixed Thanier's spritesheet re floating pixels
# Selecting God Mode will now toggle.
# Selecting Ghost mode will now toggle.
# Confirmation message added to ghost and god mode toggles
# You can now summon Anyia manifest and recall as often as you like
# Stopped plateau monsters from enraging too early in the game
# Fixed a bug whereby the parallax in the plateau forest would repeat
# Fixed a looping error on the victorium skeleton
# Fixed victorium's south-eastern bridge
# Shady looking man speech now doesn't offer a 'yes' function.
# Shady looking man's graphic has been updated
# Ages Warrior man's graphic has been updated
# Fixed Organis doors.
# Hopefully fixed all Totemas
# Stopped the Navigation Tutorial from repeating
# Fixed an overlay issue with the Vic. Workshop
# Estate Agent no longer respawns
# Beta console no longer has a target, just works when selecting it
# Jump tutorial is now centred on the screen
# Added current build version to the title screen
# Experiment - you will now get the option to fit the screen to your monitor at game start, or play in the default resolution. Existing save files can select their default through the Beta Console.
# Reduced the game's overall install files by (safely) removing a duplicate folder
# Updated soundtrack with a couple of new tracks
# Updated Damasc's profile document description

Much love, hackers. Hope you enjoy the update!
