Ladies and Gentlemen, we’re proud to announce that Dead Effect PC/MAC is finally completed. Thanks to the success of the Early Access version, our game is ready.
Successful Early Access !!
We’d like to thank Valve for giving us the opportunity to release Early Access on Steam. This feature helped us immensely and without it, we wouldn’t be able to finish the game. During the Early Access stage, we had the chance to work on Dead Effect and finish the game in its entirety. We were also able to give it a much higher quality than we’ve originally expected. Thanks to the support and resources we’ve gained in the Early Acess stage, we had the chance to add many new core features for the PC/MAC version of Dead Effect (for example new enemies and visual enhancements). We were also able to add many improvements and innovations that the fan community asked for.
We also want to express our deepest thanks to the whole community. Your comments, reports and observations have helped us to fine-tune the game to its final shape. We could not have done it without you. Thank you!

Beta Update 1.4 (Is Live!)
Dear DE community,
Before the final release of Dead Effect, we have one more update to share with you. It will bring some more changes and improvements which many of you asked for.
One of the most important things this update fixes is the technical glitch that caused many of you to get a black screen. We’ve looked into it and found that the problem was in the Unity engine. Unity version 4.5.4 has fixed the problem and so DE should be fine as well.
You can find more info from Unity here – http://unity3d.com/unity/whats-new/unity-4.5.4 - “Fixed full screen rendering at less than native resolution.”
After a long debate among our team’s members, we’ve also decided to change the graphical interface and the design of the main menu so you’ll be able to interact with it more easily and also use the controller. The change was a lot more complicated than it may seem at first glance. We had to go all the way down to the core mechanics of the game and change things there, so the implementation has taken us quite a long time.
We’ve implemented German into the game and we’re still working on the small bugs that came with it. We’re also preparing a French version of DE.
Currency has been rebalanced in later parts of the game.
We’ve prepared a little Christmas surprise for you as well and added a small sandbox testing level for you all to play around in. It’s the level the team uses for testing and though it’s simple, we hope that many of you will have lots of fun with it.
We’re still working on the multiplayer part of the game, so you don’t have to worry, we haven’t forgotten about it. It’s simply a process that takes a long time because we need to add features we haven’t counted on when we were creating the core build of the game. Changing everything so that it allows for multiplayer is very time consuming, but we won’t abandon the idea. You can expect to see it in one of the future updates.

Dead Effect - Beta Update 1.3 (Is Live!)
Hello, Dead Effect Community!
After a period of silence, we’re happy to let you know that we’ve almost finished work on the promised update for Dead Effect, which will definitely push the game into Beta! We’re still squashing some bugs, but the update will come out soon.
Before that happens though, we’d like to give you a list of things you can look forward to:
• Added 6 new missions to the single player campaign. It’s now entirely finished.
• Added 2 new survival arenas.
• Added the ability to sprint and dodge enemy attacks (to the right, to the left or backwards). These features will use a new player resource – stamina. Stamina will determine how long you can sprint and how many times you can dodge an attack before getting tired. Stamina will regenerate on its own over time.
• Added a new player ability – Devastation. It will enable you to use a strong area of effect attack, which will destroy everything in a 7 meter radius around your character. We believe that it will help you create better survival tactics, especially when you’re up against a large number of enemies.
• Added new ammo for the bow – Electrical Arrows. They cause more damage than the regular ones, so you’ll have a fighting chance against large groups of zombies.
• Added a new weapon – Deviant ARC
• Added a new type of enemy – the Cannibal. A deadly foe that’s faster and a lot more aggressive than other zombies.
• Added the ability to shoot off enemies’ arms and legs.
• Added new achievements.
• Added a few new cutscenes.
We have also fixed a few things that were causing problems:
• Improved the graphics on low settings. Things shouldn’t be as dark anymore.
• Added new graphical options – resolution, gamma, vertical sync, etc.
• Added new mouse options – acceleration, smoothing, etc.
• Added new FOV options.
• Weapons have been rebalanced according to the suggestions on Steam.
• From now on, when you aim, you will see a red dot indicating where you’re shooting.
• Added an indicator of the number of zombies you’ve killed and the number of credits/gold you’ve collected in the level.
• You can now view the tablets you have previously picked up in the main menu.
• Alt + TAB should no longer cause the game’s graphics to glitch.
• The environment should now react to damage – dents, bullet holes, blackened walls after explosions.
We have also implemented various language versions of the game, such as Russian, Spanish, Hungarian, Czech and Slovak. We are also planning to add German and French in future updates. Some parts of the game are still being translated, however, so you may encounter pieces of English text here and there, as well as other technical problems. We have to ask for your patience until we receive the feedback necessary to fix possible issues. We would also like to ask you all to keep in mind that these translations are fan-made and mistakes may appear.

Big things have small beginnings!
It's finally here. Another huge step for our team, which will keep us alive. We've managed to find a partner for the development of our games - Synot.
Thanks to this lottery giant's considerable financial support, we were able to boost our development and bolster our ranks. Synot has also allowed us to have complete creative freedom. Together we have established a new company, BadFly Interactive a.s., with a goal to develop great games.
Our main goal is to finish our new title, Dead Effect 2, within the next 10 months. We’re also planning to finish work on Dead Effect 1 for the PC and MAC by Christmas of this year, including various language mutations.

Future Updates!
Hello everybody,
after a period of silence, we're back with news about the game.
The team is working hard on finishing and improving the game. We're closely watching all of your feedback on this forum and we're trying to solve the issues you're reporting to make the game the best it can be.
Currently, it is our goal to finish the entire game with all of its features within two months (if everything goes as it ideally should). The game could then be released at the beginning of November as the Beta version. It should have the Single Player Campaign including all the weapons and enemies, achievements and other features such as the Survival Mode and Biohazard Arenas.
Sadly, not all of the features you'd like to see can be implemented into the game. This is because the game's technology doesn't allow us to do so, since we didn't count with such features when we were originally creating the game. Trying to add them would mean changing its core techonology, which would set us back and add a lot of work.
If the game is finished and we are entirely happy with it, we would like to publish it before Christmas of this year.
All the best from
Dev. Team
