Meet the Garage Sale — Hugest dead_file.exe update!
We always wanted to reward players for their aspiration and interest in our game, even if they have completed it. It is a reason, why we have released 5 updates and a free level pack since release date.
But, in addition, we wanted to implement something more different and interesting. Before Steam Direct system release, it was quite easy — we could just add Trading Cards. But now there's
really no way to add them.
Oh, wait, we guess we were too long with our lyrical digression! Well, it's time to announce the changelog.
Recent major dead_file.exe update includes some сompletely new features such as Item drop system and shaders (game effects) customization.
You can learn more about dead_file.exe item drops and inventory system in our guide. But now we suggest that you read this post and try the new version of the dead_file.exe! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
» General changes
Now game has got game economy and item drop systems
New game economy feature: Inventory (synchronized with Steam)
New game economy feature: Crafting
New game economy feature: Rewards for completing game levels
New game economy feature: Floppy disks system
New menu design
Some levels design was changed due to its difficulty
Soundtracks were improved with a new sound technology called Cinnamon Surroundings
Now game progress can be erased, just hold DEL button for a second
Cinnamon Core shaders and game effects (CRT, VHS and Color Correction) can be now configured in config.dat file ("Config" menu option)

6 brand-new items called "Recorded floppy disks"
3 brand-new player visual effects called "Move Trails"
1 brand-new case with Garage Sale update items called "Garage Sale — Gear Case #1"
» Optimization improvements
New way to display video&image was implemented to dead_file.exe
Performance and game effects were slightly improved.
Game resolution was improved

Hello! Recently we have uploaded a new version of dead_file.exe. Today's update contains new improvements and some new content! But, before we designate the changes, we want to notice that today is the last day of sale with the up to 85% discount! (discount bases on your currency) This is really the last chance to become a test subject for a very small fee!
This update hasn't got a lot of big changes, because we're preparing something more bigger, but it still has new features:
General:
New public level minigame - Elektronika (Menu -> Public Levels -> Public Level 6: Elektronika)
Seasonal public levels small design fix
Optimization:
Cinnamon Core effects was optimized
Cinnamon Core particles was optimized
Rare game crashes on old PC were fixed

We Wish You a Merry Cheatmas! ^̮^
Hello! Recently, we have uploaded a new version of dead_file.exe. Today`s update contains new important improvements and new content! And, of course, spirit of christmas! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
First feature is the most important:
We have replaced all objects and facilities in the test rooms to the their snow made analogue. First version of them was made from bones of our dead test subjects. Enjoy this knowledge! • ◡•
New game mode:
We have added new public level called DeathHall (you can play it in the Public Levels menu). This level has got unique gameplay, which turns platfromer into runner! (~˘▾˘)~
New public level:
Besides of DeathHall public level, we have added a new level specially for Christmas - DEAD MOROZ (check it in the Public Levels menu). This level contains spirit of christmas and surprise at the end. Don't want to spoil, just check it! (˚▽˚)
Leaderboards:
You can submit your record achieved in the DeathHall level and check it in the TOP here or in the game. But remember, that normal scores aren't worthy of respect, because leaderboard is only for the unfair submittions! Hack it and send 1000000000 scores record! Now! Immediately! （╯°□°）╯
Game resolution improvements:
Now you can switch game to the windowed mode, just press F6. If you want to enter fullscreen mode again - press F5 button.
Optimization:
We have fixed some optimization issues on Windows 10.
Minor bug fixes:
Halloween trash bug was removed
Keyboard now works even with connected gamepad
First level hints were improved

Hello! Recently, we have published a new supplemental content as a DLC. You [url=http://store.steampowered.com/app/754210/without_an_outputmapcan download it via Steam and try right now! ^̮^
DLC contains new public level and can be accessed through menu. (Menu -> Public Levels -> Public Level 3: Without an output)
There are 5 rooms and new gameplay features inside the new public level. Also there are about 10-15 minutes of gameplay.
We will create more free different supplemental content, if you want so! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

Spontaneous Update #1
Hello! Recently, we have uploaded new version of dead_file.exe which contains some enjoyable features. We suggest you read this post ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
Public Level #2 You can play new public level (Menu -> Public Levels -> Public Level 2: Dream) right now! Notice: firstly you can think that this level is impossible, but it's not. There are some riddles at the sides. That's all we can say. (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
Gamepad fixes We have changed Public Levels menu and fixed the gamepad control inside it. (~˘▾˘)~
Second chapter achievement This achievement was broken, but now it works fine. You should complete the second chapter to get this achievement. And no achievements hack software please ಠ╭╮ಠ
Minor fixes Minor optimization fixes in the game engine. Nothing special, but now players with bad computers can play with the better frame rate. (ᵔᴥᵔ)

Public Level #1 Hard system of the secret codes was changed to the new Public Levels system. Now, you can play unusual levels, which will be activated on special events or when you reached some game progress. ( ﾟヮﾟ)
At the moment you can play new Public Level #1, designed specially for Halloween! (open "Public Levels" in menu and then left mouse click on level or A button on gamepad)
This level available until the end of october.
Halloween content Now, levels have got new decorations, shaken out of an old closet, and spirit of the Halloween! (~˘▾˘)~
By the way, it looks pretty atmospheric! You should check it!
Minor fixes We fixed some bugs on the chapter Calibration and improved gamepad controls.
