Quick Progress Update 2: Electric Boogaloo Just wanted to let you guys know how things are going with the level 50 update. Here is my progress so far and what is left to do:
40 New Weapons (including assault rifles) COMPLETE
New Boss A COMPLETE
New Boss B COMPLETE
New Boss C COMPLETE

Crafting System COMPLETE
Various bug fixes and optimisations COMPLETE
New Zombie Variants (eta 2 weeks)
Story Line Final Implementation (eta 1 week)
New Uniques, New Consumable Items and miscellaneous code for level 50 (eta 1 week)
Testing and Balancing (eta 1 week)
As you can see some things have changed from the previous plan. I ended up adding an extra boss and a crafting system (partly because I needed it for Easter). I've also added a week to implement the story as this has ended up being a lot more complex than I had previously thought.
Unfortunately I've decided to remove the new clothing from the plan because our character artist (Dobrin) has been sick with a heart condition recently and therefore he's had to slow down the pace of his work. The new clothing will be here eventually, but it won't be finished in time for the level 50 update unfortunately. We are adding a lot of new stuff though so when it finally drops it should be worth the wait :)
Right now I am 100% focused on getting the Easter events ready in both games (I'll be announcing them on Monday), but starting April 5th I'll be able to put all my energy into DF2 again and hopefully have the level 50 content out in early May.

Quick Progress Update The good news is that everything for the level 50 content update is moving along nicely. I've already finished all the new weapons + one new boss + some prep work for 3 other bosses + balancing adjustments and a whole bunch of little bug fixes and optimisations that were made on the way.
The bad news is that I wont be able to release the new weapons as cosmetics early as I had originally planned :( I've essentially bitten off a bit more than I can chew, and gotten quite far through several different big code changes at once, but without finishing them to the required level that I would feel confident putting it into the live version of the game. I've also done so many of these changes that it's not really possible for me to roll them back without breaking something. Basically I think it's just better if I finish everything off at once, and release it all together rather than attempting some kind of mish-mash of which is just bound to go wrong.
However, so that I end this update on a happier note, here is a quick work in progress teaser of one of the new bosses. Hope you like it! :)
