General Update #7: Elevation System

Hey guys,

Just letting you all know that the seventh video for the combat tutorial series is live on YouTube. This video covers the Elevation system in depth. I previously mentioned how hit chance is affected by elevation but there are also other factors that are influenced by elevation.

Seventh video is up:

General Update #6: AP System

Hey guys,

Just letting you all know that the sixth video for the combat tutorial series is live on YouTube. This video covers the AP system that Dead Monarchy uses. At first glance, most viewers would draw parallels between the modern XCOM games and Dead Monarchy since there is a blue grid outline and separate phases for each unit, however there is a bit more flexibility in terms of how many actions you can perform per turn. The "AP System" allows you to move or perform as many actions in your turn so long as you have the Action Points for it.

General Update #5: Opportune Strikes

Hey guys,

Just letting you all know that the fifth video for the combat tutorial series is live on YouTube. This video covers "Opportune Strikes", which is basically Attacks of Opportunity for when you leave or pass by an opponent's Zone of Control. This video also covers the counterattack system that utilizes "Opportune Strikes" as well.

Again, thank you all for the continued support, seeing the wishlists and community steadily grow is really motivating for me.

General Update #1: Huge Thanks!

Hey guys,

I would first like to say THANK YOU to all those that have joined the Steam community and wishlisted my game! It is extremely encouraging for me to see a small community form around this game and to also see that there is some interest in it.

Prior to Steam, I have been quite inconsistent with my updates because I am a solo developer that also has to balance multiple day jobs. That being said, I'll do my best to keep you guys informed now that the game is more or less "official". I've decided to split my updates into two types of categories. Development updates will solely focus on any development progress and general updates will contain more or less everything else.

To kick things off, I have started on the video tutorials for Dead Monarchy. There is a written tutorial in the game, but these video may be easier to process. I will first focus on the combat side of things and then shift to the base management aspects.

First video is up:
