We are taking it a bit more easy at the moment. We hope you are having a relaxing summer as well. After working on Dealer's Life 2 non-stop for a few years we just need a little bit of a break before we start ramping up work on the next game. Yes, it will be another Dealer's Life but not what you might expect. We are not ready yet to show anything but it's gonna be amazing. And rest assured, there will still be plenty more updates for Dealer's Life 2!

Dealer’s Life 2 - Update #40: Summer Theme!

Today we are happy to announce the release of the new Update #40! ːdlgiftː
With this update we introduce the first theme: Summer Theme! During the year we will have different holiday themes unlocking during specific periods of the year. These changes are only cosmetic but hopefully will bring you some joy and a little change once in a while since running a business can be quite grindy sometimes!

Summer theme! To celebrate the warm months on the northern hemisphere we've spruced up the shops a bit.
ːdl2_diamondː Brainwash done deals: in case you want to try to improve the outcome you can now use brainwash charges on completed deals as well.
ːdl2_diamondː Active effects from encounters limited: there will now be only one effect per type active at any given time. No more cumulative multipliers.
ːdl2_diamondː Added percentage of change in price estimates after restorer, forger and expert tasks
ːdl2_diamondː Slightly increased average profits from bank investments

Dealer’s Life 2 - Update #39: Balance Changes!

Win threshold is now checked against all your assets: this means that My Home assets value, your shop value, your item estimated value and your current investments are now included for the purpose of reaching the threshold for the final quest. The asset total can be checked in Bank - Overview
Forger boost: the Forger can now forge items with one special feature too. Before he was able to forge only items with zero special features.
Expert boost: this is applied to the Expert Hidden Treasure feature too since late game more items will have a hidden treasure discovered by him as a side-effect of all the other changes.
Item price increase: we rebalanced ALL the item prices. Average price increase is +50%.
Item generation boost: increased both special feature and production year algorithms for much higher (+100%) late game item prices.
Item rarity balance: we balanced the distribution of rarities in our item database, lowering the rate at which items with the same image are generated again. This is applied to the Mythic rarity with a bonus goal: have enough items to maximize the probability of having a surprise factor (i.e.: new item) when a Mythic is generated. Changes here: more common, epic, legendary and mythic items, less uncommon and rare items.
Balanced encounter cash prizes/taxes to reflect the new averages. It's a value per Fame Level that depends on the average price of an item per level. This raises the maximum loan per level limit too.
Increased shop and skill cost/prices to reflect these new averages: getting to a skill to 9 is now more expensive, same to reach the last shop.
Increased the frequency of encounters in the last District (Luxury Tower) by lowering the average number of days between them, which means moar encounters in the late game!
Two core plot (PJ Cash) encounters happen now instantly when conditions are met. Before this change these happened in the next encounter cycle; after a few days.
The reasoning behind most of these changes is that we feel it's better to boost a lot and then cut/tweak after your feedback than change a lower % and risk that these changes are not felt/experienced.

Meanwhile we have started working on balance changes, mainly concerning the late game. Expect this to be the next update to drop in May!

:dl2_diamond: New item status icons in inventory: Now you can have a visual idea of what items are fake, locked, pawned, under restoration, etc. simply by looking at the items on the shelves in your inventory. No more clicking every item to find what you're looking for.
Item Pack #26: Sweet Dreams Pack! All beds you could possibly want, a couple of mysterious music devices and... surgical instruments! Wait a minute, what? 🤔
:dl2_diamond: "inventory status" icon on the tablet on the table: so you can always know how many free items slots you have in your inventory, without opening the tablet!

Pay off a bank loan early: we've added a simple button allowing you to pay off a bank loan before it naturally expires.
Employee task details and links: we now show you what your employees are up to and what items they are working on. The information will be visible above the task slider. It is also now possible to switch between item and employee details by selecting the task slider itself.
Early game balance change: in the beginning you will no longer face encounters that could cause you to lose the game by taking all your money.
Auction AI improvement: bids will now increase more than once when you are not the winning bid to make it more realistic. To prevent misclick it will not be possible to bid for a fraction of a second after an AI bid.
Investment duration: lowered from 35 to 14 days.
German & Italian text fixes
