Dealer’s Life 1.23 Update: Landmarks and Souvenirs + Sale 20% off!

First of all, these are difficult times, we know that a lot of you are stuck at home right now trying to work or learn remotely and we really understand you because we actually are in the same situation since almost one month ago: we are from Milan, which is in Lombardy, the most hit region in Italy. Try to keep your spirits up in these days, call your friends and your family, especially the ones you know could need a kind word in a situation like this, try to stay physically and mentally healthy, play the games you like (solo or with your friends) and make the best of your time. And always follow all the instructions from your local health officials.

New Item Pack #13 - Landmarks and Souvenirs! Look for more than 30 brand new items related to landmarks and art pieces from all around the world!
You can now hire the Advertiser, a smart marketer who will attract more customers into your shop by performing advertising campaigns
Raised the cap of active employees (Restorers, Experts, Brainwashers, Forgers) from 2 to 3
So, let's start with items: in this update you'll find the new and marvelous Item Pack #13 with 30+ new items dedicated to landmarks and art pieces from all over the world!
We added many items from each country where the 7 languages currently included in Dealer's Life are spoken and some iconic landmarks from other parts of the world. We decided to use actual names of landmarks and pieces of art because we think this is better for player immersion and sense of belonging for the countries we included, also in this way everyone will recognize almost all the references. Remember to take a screenshot and share it with your friends if you like a particular item! Speaking about long time requests, we added a new employee: the Advertiser! We prepared the assets for this new employee a long time ago following the idea of a passive employee who raises the average number of daily customers, during the development of this update we decided that we finally had to include him into the game and designed his role and his algorithms. And here's an Advertiser looking to be hired: Those name and surname look familiar, aren't they? ːlunar2019crylaughingpigː ːdleggː
To discuss further about this topic, here's a list about all the things that influence the number of customers you'll see daily in your shop:
Your shop is the first (and possibly the most important) thing: every shop has a maximum number of daily customers which of course influences the highest number that can be generated!
Your inventory gives a boost depending on how many rare, epic, legendary and mythic items you have.
The total value of your Luck skill gives a boost, so having 9 skill points in Luck and a level 3 Lucky Guy for a total Luck value of 12 gives the best boost possible.
Your Advertiser gives a boost depending on his level of expertise.
There are some Ongoing Events that influence the number of customers you'll see, some are pretty strong (in increasing or decreasing them, depending on the event) and you will definitely feel them.
So, your shop changes the maximum number of customers while the other points change the average number of customers you'll see! Remember that, as always with the procedural generation, "on average" does not mean "every time" which means that you can hire a Level 3 Advertiser and still see a day with a low number of customers, but on average you'll surely see his nice boost! ːdlsuitcaseː

Moving on, the last change in this update is related to how many active employees (Restorers, Experts, Brainwashers, Forgers) you can hire. A bit of history on this topic: in the very early days of the game the cap was set to 1, using the same cap that by design is needed on passive employees (Clerks, Lucky Guys, Analysts, Profilers and now Advertisers). Those can't be hired multiple times otherwise your skills would get a very high bonus and possibly overflow all the maximum values. Back then we listened to feedback from our players and understood that "more choices = more fun" and, knowing that active employees had no real constraints, we raised that cap to 2. Following that very principle, we re-evaluated the impact on the game balance and we decided to further raise this cap from 2 to 3, meaning that it's now time to do that crazy playthrough you have in mind where you have 9 Brainwash charges every day! ːlunar2019laughingpigː

Dealer’s Life and Steam Cloud
Hello to every Great Dealer out there!
After completing our internal tests, we are proud to announce that Steam Cloud is now available in Dealer's Life! ːsteamhappyː
You asked to be able to continue your game from your laptop on your desktop at home and now you can do it! Of course also a PC change is covered, your save game will be saved on Steam Cloud every time you close the game and then the Steam client will automatically download it on all your devices.
If you are playing on just one device, everything will be taken care of automatically! Also, as everything is managed by the Steam client, there is no need of a game update and the Steam Cloud will work right now.
If you currently are playing on two different devices be sure to carefully read the "Cloud Sync Conflict" window to let the Steam client know where is your latest save! Here's an example: In this example, I am running the game on my laptop for the first time with the Steam Cloud enabled: the Steam Cloud files were just uploaded from tests on my desktop and are newer than the old save game on the laptop, the Steam client is asking me what files I want to keep. In this case, keeping the files from the desktop was the obvious choice but be sure to take a minute to decide, especially if you have two different saves.

Dealer’s Life 1.22 Update: Games and Legends!

We hope you had wonderful holidays! After a small break for Christmas, we are again full of energy and ready to release awesome new content for Dealer’s Life! :D Today we are proud to announce the release of the Games & Legends 1.22 Update, with a lot of new content and nice changes! ːdlgiftː
Here are the release notes:
V. 1.22
- New Item Pack #12 - Games and Legends! Look for 25 brand new items related to iconic video games and cartoons! - Improved background quality - Dynamic "max year" for modern items, VIPs and historical contexts - Enabled share button for taking screenshots - Performance improvements - Bug fixes ("Hire" label on the "Hire Employee" article)
First of all we gave some love to PC platform by greatly improving the visual quality of shops, so now they look much better on a PC screen. On Steam we also enabled a dedicated in-game button to take screenshots of items, just like the mobile version.
Talking about items, we improved the year calculation of modern items and features by automatically considering the current year as the maximum year of production available! With this change, the game will automatically consider the current year (e.g.: 2020) in ranges for all modern items, VIPs and historical contexts, instead of a fixed year (e.g.: 2019).
But the biggest improvement we’re releasing with Dealer's Life 1.22 update is our third and final step into the geek world: the new and shiny Item Pack #12 with 25 new items dedicated to video games and iconic characters!
This item pack, along with “Heroes & Bad Guys” and “Movies & Games” packs previously released, would like to be our personal and most devoted tribute to all great titles and characters we loved in the years, from the far 80’s till recent days. We have to say we are particularly fond of these items since many of them were an important part of our childhood as gamers and anime fans, along with many others we didn’t manage to include but we love in the same way. It’s thanks to them that we are now here, developing Dealer’s Life and hopefully many other titles in the future. That’s why this specific update is very important for us: it defines a very big milestone for Dealer’s Life, a big accomplishment for us with a personal touch to celebrate in our way the whole world of entertainment that has a special place in our hearts.
As of now, developing Dealer’s Life took us more than three full-time years and it now includes over 540 different items combined with nearly 200 special features (from connections with famous personalities to historical or fictional events), more than 100 different special characters encounters and random events, and literally countless references to movies, video games, real life events and much much more! We spent really a lot of time and energy on our creation, polishing, improving and creating new content for it. Everything was released in more than one hundred free updates since our very first Alpha release on Android devices in September 2016.

Now that we feel that our game is solid and polished, we want to increase its price a bit to include all these years of work and all these free updates. ːdlgiftː This is something that will help us but will not affect at all any player that has already bought the game, which we think is very important as we always want to be as fair as possible, especially with all the players that have already supported us!
What will come next, you say? Well, it’s been quite a while that we’re talking about something big coming out soon. Actually, all I can say about it is that big news require big effort to be announced. Be patient, Great Dealers, as something very big is coming…

If everything goes well in Beta, it will be released after the Winter event in early January!
As time goes by, we feel that we have worked a lot on the game: we started working on Dealer's Life more than three years ago, the first internal Beta release for Android was exactly three years ago and the official release on Android was in February 2017. We spent *really* a lot of time and energy on our creation, polishing and improving it with nearly 20 free updates, till we were confident that it was solid enough to be released here on Steam, for you, our PC players.

That's why we decided to avoid Early Access and immediately go for a full release last January: we knew we would definitely keep updating Dealer's Life (one thing over all... Storage Auctions! Now we feel that, after another year of development and other 8 free content updates, this is even more true. So, starting from early January, we will increase a bit Dealer's Life price to include all these months of work and all these free updates. This is also something that will not affect at all any player that has already bought the game, in a similar way the Early Access does (low price at the beginning, higher price later), which we think is very important as we always want to be as fair as possible, especially with all the players that have already supported us! ːdlgiftː
