Death Crown

Vth

Greetings, Death Warriors!

Another year has passed, and our ranks continue to grow, which is something that brings us great joy. For five years now, you've been supporting us, and we strive to return the favor. This game will always hold a special place in our hearts. Death Crown was our first game, one into which we truly poured our souls. We hope you share our sentiments.

Although the time of active support for the game is long behind us, we still try to find time each year to bring you some small delights. This year, we've prepared a few small, but hopefully pleasant, updates.

1. We've added a demo version on Steam (thanks to Valve for finally making demos more visible). Unlike the previous demo on itch.io, we've included a boss battle. So, if you have any hesitant relatives, friends, acquaintances, or any other people who are important to you and unsure whether Death Crown is worth their time, make sure to show them our demo.

2. We've also added animated avatars, stickers, and backgrounds featuring your favorite Death Crown characters. You can purchase them in the Steam Point Shop. Taunt your enemies in online games by setting a laughing king as your avatar, showing them just how superior you are.

We find ourselves increasingly returning to thoughts of a Death Crown continuation, pondering what it might be. A sequel or a prequel? Will it remain an RTS, or will the game change genres? Will it retain its black-and-white aesthetic, or will we introduce color while keeping the grim atmosphere? Will it stay in pixel art, or will we go 3D? What new features will we add, and which ones will we remove? We have so many ideas, and the urge to return to Death Crown and surprise you with something new and stylish grows stronger.

I don't want to raise anyone's hopes too high, but I also don't want you to write us off. Death Crown has never been about commercial success—we never had a meticulously planned marketing campaign or anything of the sort. Everything we did and continue to do comes from the heart. That's why your support is so important. Every mention of the game, review, piece of art, tweet, and, of course, purchase of the game brings the next Death Crown game closer. We would also love to hear your thoughts and wishes regarding the continuation—what would you like to see in the next chapter of Death Crown? Your feedback will help shape the future of this world.

Greetings, commanders of the undead legions!

Following the recent sale, we noticed a boost in player activity and uncovered some bugs. We immediately set to work fixing them so they no longer interfere with your gaming.

We warmly welcome all new players and thank you for purchasing our game!

  • Boss Worm Bug in the Human Campaign - The fight now proceeds as intended, and the worm no longer dies within 10 seconds of the mission starting.
  • Old Bug with the Disappearing Cursor on the Undead Campaign Map - We really hope we were actually successful in fix it this time.
  • Several Old Animation Bugs - Missing frames in the transition states of some buildings have been corrected.

Hello, valiant Death Warriors!

Here we are, marking four incredible years of Death Crown. As time has swiftly passed by, what remains constant is the strength and spirit of this community. I'm genuinely humbled by your dedication to our game.

A sincere thank you to each of you. Your journey with Death Crown truly matters to us.

Let's touch upon what's been happening:

We might not have rolled out significant events or changes this year, but we've been diligently focused on making the game resonate with a broader audience. So, to all our Ukrainian, Serbian, Brazilian, Argentinian, and Portuguese warriors — Death Crown now speaks your language. We hope this small addition makes your gameplay just a touch more comfortable.

Ah, reminiscing about the past... Last year brought us face-to-face with that diabolical red fridge. And while I won’t spill all our secrets just now, keep a watchful eye on the horizon. The winds of change carry whispers of new tales, echoing familiar chants yet heralding unfamiliar adventures. Do you hear it?

Hold onto your crowns, warriors. The realm of Death Crown is vast and ever-evolving. The shadows ahead might be holding secrets, just waiting for the right moment to reveal themselves.

In the dance of time and war,
Death Crown Team

Update 1.2.1 In this minor update, we focused on fixing two nasty bugs that some of you have encountered while playing the game.

  • Fix for the missing cursor on the company map: We have fixed some of the missing cursor scenarios. We have also rewritten the saves, which should fix the cursor missing in other cases.

  • Fix for resetting sound settings: We've also fixed an issue that sometimes caused the sound settings to reset at the beginning of the game. Now that you have customized the sound settings to your liking, they will save reliably and you can enjoy the game.

Thanks to everyone who helped us identify these issues, and keep sharing your experiences so we can make the game even better!

All seasonal maps are now available!

Hello, Death Warriors!

Over the course of Death Crown's existence, we've made seasonal maps with interesting mechanics several times. The last one was dedicated to our new horror game, the Fridge is Red.

The event was coming to an end, we were going to remove the map, but suddenly we decided, why not keep it? And at the same time, we included the other two maps from the previous events as well! Now you can fight the Pumpkin Baron at any time, or try the Tower Defense mode!

We would also like to remind you that we have only 2 days left to place orders for the best Death Crown limited edition t-shirts! Hurry up! :)

Happy Birthday to Death Crown!

Hello, Death Warriors!

Today is a big day! Death Crown is three years old!
Death Crown was our first game and holds a special place in our hearts. We are very pleased that you are with us all this time and support our game and us. I am very proud of our game and its community!

Thank you so much, Death Warriors!

And now for the news!

In honor of such a momentous occasion, we've decided to do something that many have thought about, sometimes even asked about. Of course, it's Death Crown t-shirts!
prints if the campaign is successful!

We used a service to print and distribute the t-shirts:
https://everpress.com/death-crown
The service has great reviews and excellent printing quality! Four types of t-shirt styles in two colors each!
To get a t-shirt you need to pre-order a t-shirt on the website, wait for the end of the campaign, and get the package.
The campaign will last one month. There will be no more t-shirts with this print. But we will make other

And we have more great news! Three years is a long time. In three years we've managed to release two DLCs for Death Crown, as well as a lot of big and not-so-big updates. But you may have noticed that updates haven't been released for a while, and there's an explanation for that. We have been working on a new game!

We decided to try our hand at a new genre on a completely different engine and in a completely different style!

We present our new game The Fridge Is Red! It's a PSX-style horror game, and it's coming out on September 27th!

Honestly, I don't know how many fans of Death Crown there are of retro horror games, but I hope that you are interested in me :)

Oh yeah, there's a little update in the game, a battle with a demonic red(!) fridge!

Death Crown T-shirts?

Hi, Death Warriors!

Death Crown will soon be celebrating its three-year anniversary! In honor of that, we'd like to launch a limited edition t-shirt sale with key art of the game.

We plan to use the great website https://everpress.com/ for this and the markup will be minimal or none at all. The expected price is $21-$30, depending on the number of people who want it.

Would you like a t-shirt? :)

Small Cutscenes Update

Hello, Death Warriors!

Today we made another attempt to fix the bug that kept some players from enjoying our cutscenes. We recoded the video, and we really hope that everything will be fine.

We also have a little good news for those who haven't yet received achievements for fully improving a tower, barracks or mine. You can now get these achievements in any of the three campaigns.
