Challenge your friends with the new Multiplayer Modes
Summer is around the corner and a new version of Debris Infinity is available. This is a big one!
Multiplayer modes:
If you want to play with a friend you just need 1 controller. That's right: One. Player one will use the gamepad and player two will use Keyboard and Mouse. And of course you can just plug-in 2 gamepads for the best head-to-head experience.
There's 2 multiplayer modes:
Coop: Both players can play the standard single-player modes but with a twist: One player is the pilot and the other is the gunner. As a pilot you control movement and time slowdown. The gunner controls all weapons, including bombs. Be sure to communicate and remember that there's only one energy reserve for both bombs and time slowdown.
Versus: Both players fighting for the highest score! Several strategies can be used, ranging from luring enemies into the other player, to spam slowdown to throw off the oponent's rythm, get the last hit on big enemies, launch a bomb to "steal" some kills from the rival... The player with the higher score wins. If the loser dies, that's it. BUT if the winner dies, the loser still can make a comeback if survives long enough.
These game modes have proven quite a success in public events, so be sure to try them with friends and family!
Online Rankings:
Due to a problem with the library used to access Steam's leaderboards the online rankings aren't avaliable at this moment. Fortunately Steam is looking into it so they will be accessible once it's fixed. Anyways we are already looking for alternatives and a future update will address it (if it's nof sorted out before that).
Don't worry because achievements, stats and other Steam-related features work like a charm :)
Other changes:
Several improvements have been made to the whole game, ranging from cosmetic (UI, graphic tweaks) to user experience. Also optimizations and minor bug fixing have been made.
Thanks to all for your feedback!
Steam Leaderboards online!
In this update Steam Leaderboards have been enabled, so you can check your world rank online.
Each game mode have it's own world ranking, so try to reach #1 in all of them!
For now it's an initial version. Later down the road you will be able to navigate the leaderboards to check other players' score, but right now you can make a high score and it will be there in the future.
Also, now you can skip the results screen animation by pressing A on your Xbox or similar gamepad (or Enter if using Keyboard). That way you don't have to wait as much for your next play.
Best regards!
New January 2018 update avaliable now!
A new version of Debris Infinity is now available with the following improvements:
New interface:
Now the player status is shown around the ship. The left half represents the Shield level, while the right half represents the energy level.
Also while playing in Power Wave mode there´s a central circle representing time, so you have all the basic information at a glance.
In Time Attack, the left bar represents the remaining time, since there´s no Shield Level to display.
Along with these changes, the score interface has also been modified. Where previously the energy was shown, now you can check your position in the ranking of the curent game mode. In a future update it will also show the position in the world ranking, so you can have an idea of your performance.
Integration with Steam and achievements:
When you start the game it will show if you are connected in the title screen. A first wave of achievements have been included, that will be expanded later in future updates.
New tutorial, with more information:
The tutorial has been completely changed. In addition to the basic controls, different game mechanics such as combos, chains, streaks, energy recovery, etc., are now explained too.
Other changes:
Improved support for controllers: The D-pad should now work when using a Dual Shock 4 controller.
Star Attack warning: In addition to the arrow shown in the center of the screen, small arrows appear on the edge of the screen on the side where the attack is coming.
Enemy's spawn points: The generation of new enemies have been revised so there's more distance between them and the ship when they appear.
Voice volume settings: Now the voice volume control works correctly.
Playback of songs: The first song of the playlist changes each time the game is started.
Other minor improvements
Thanks to Abian36 and Laquin for giving notice of some of the bugs that have already been solved in this update.
We will keep you updated with new features!
Merry Christmas to everyone!
Have a nice time with your family and friends!
Hard at work
It has been a week since the release of Debris Infinity but that doesn't mean that we are celebrating just yet ... it's an Early Access release and there are many things to do!
The interface is being modified, since we have observed that some people have problems monitoring the energy level of the ship. Now the circle that surrounds the ship that previously would have changed size with different shield level has changed its function!
The left half of the circle will represent the shields, and the right half represents the energy: This way both parameters can be seen at all times.
This change implies the modification of the existing tutorial. No problem since that was already planned! Also we need to add tutorials that cover beyond the controls (ex: Explanation of the interface, mechanics to obtain higher scores ...)
Some achievements are also being prepared as a first step of Steam's integration.
Soon you will have these and other new features available.
Regards!
