Level 8 hotfix

Oops! Improved air control has broken the magnetic field on level 8 and completing the game turned into an impossible task. This small update is fixing this :)

All changes:

  • Level 8: weaker magnetic field on level 8
  • Level 8: red force field covering the ceiling button is slower now
  • Level 7: last riddle moved to the room with 4 teleporters and 2 batteries occupy old location of that riddle
  • The most exciting change! Now you need just 3 batteries to gain protection against red force fields instead of 10!

Update again!

Hey!

DeepWeb is still fun and there's a little update today:

  • Increased air control
  • 110 deg camera FOV, better for platforming
  • Force fields don't throw player into incorrect directions anymore
  • Death screen can be skipped by pressing any key
  • Player can take screenshots in all dialogs that say "Press any key to continue"

Jumping over the platforms is more fun now! Also, even though the death screen says you'll restart in 3 seconds, you can just press any key to restart immediately. And the best thing is that you can press F12 in your Steam to make screenshots of the level complete screen to share your records!

Not much, but it's great to have an update anyway. Many thanks to everyone who supports DeepWeb on Steam!

Minor update

I was informed that some sounds keep playing even after muting music and sound effects in the options menu. After reviewing the content it became obvious that these sounds don't have any sound class assigned. Also, BatPrince said "Type faster, mister computer!" in his DeepWeb video review and I think he's right! Would you expect a slow typing from the most advanced artificial intelligence in the world? Hell no! ːsteamhappyː So now it's faster and that an another little change.

Not much, but great news anyway! Thanks everyone for support!

Update for level 7

I'll be honest, level 7 is just impossible!

This update makes it easier to complete ːsteamhappyː

  • Adjusted positions and timings for moving platforms in the Gemini
  • Changed position of moving platform in the Lyra, red force field now has an another swing direction
  • Red force fields are now slower in the Pegasus
  • Added 2 more batteries to the Palace of Eternity, so you have a better chance to survive there now

And other improvements:

  • Trials count now always reset after leaving the level
  • If you jump, hold crouch button and then land, the character will now DO crouch, not just stand still
  • Unreal crash reporter has been removed, there was a trouble with it on some machines

Little update

I just got the first feedback about the game and found the following:

  • That riddle on Level 1 is mind-blowing! Why the numbers are arranged in a reverse order?

  • Hey you really don't need to unlock the exit door to finish the level!

  • No FPS limiter? I want my money back!

So you can read the first riddle straight now, since it's the first level and it should stay simple, the exit door bug is gone and it works properly now and finally, there's an 60FPS limitation and the game will run smooth.
