Not many people can keep a cool head under the barrage in Deflector, but Jawless Paul did just that in his hour long experiment! Some bosses prove harder than others, but Paul remains undeterred and applies what he's learned in his gameplay!

New Virus Strains & Anomalies
In Deflector it's always an evolutionary arms race between you and your bioshells, and the hostile envrionments. What new twisted threats can you look forward to post update? Let's find out!
New Virus Strains
Virus strains represent an additional injection of difficulty into the already familiar environments. Whenever you play Virus Strains, you choose how many there will be. But as to what they will do? That is up to chance. And now there are several new ways that Virus Strains can turn out:
- Mixed virus: This area may contain enemies from all the areas. Maybe those Flipbugs got lost.
- Overgrown viruses: Powerful enemies may now appear in Cell Extraction rooms. Don't get too relaxed!
- Fragile bullets: Most bullets may break when deflecting them. But they'll still hurt if you don't!
- Vengeful virus: Some enemies may shoot a bullet at you on death. Best be ready for these little final gifts.
New Anomalies
Certain rooms on your playthrough may be affected by anomalies, and there are now several more that you can come across while exploring!
- Lights off: Reduces vision.
- Rockets: From time to time, rockets will appear and chase you.
- Poisonous ground: Poison puddles appear around the room from time to time.
- Larvae swarm: Enemies spawn a Larvae when they die.

Challenging evolutions
In our most recent update one of the newest additions to Deflector are brand new evolutions. For those of you that need a refresher - these are upgrades unique to each bioshell and acquired by defeating Great Viruses, the mid-bosses of Deflector's biomes.
Today we're taking a closer look at the brand new evolutions! There's one for each bioshell and each has to be unlocked through a challenge before you can acquire it. Let's dive in!
Bioshell: Eradicator
Evolution name: Boomerang Orbit
Evolution function: Every consecutive deflection of the boomerang generates a boomerang that will orbit around you. They are lost when retrieving the boomerang.
Required challenge: As Eradicator, kill 10 enemies with your boomerang before retrieving it.
This evolution is a real treat for the dedicated boomerang-bouncer which is reflected both in its challenge and in its function! Get those kills without ever catching your boomerang!
Bioshell: Slasher
Evolution name: Combo Slash
Evolution function: Defeating an enemy with Radial Slash will release a Radial Slash at the enemy's position.
Required challenge: As Slasher, complete 3 survival rooms without dashing nor receiving damage in a single game.
Radial Slash kills will now make enemies explode into an additional Radial Slash! Can you handle the challenge to unlock this powerful evolution?
Bioshell: Gunslinger
Evolution name: Wall Burst
Evolution function: No longer shoot bullets while holding the wall, but release a burst.
Required challenge: As Gunslinger, kill 100 enemies with bullets deflected with your wall.
Project the entirety of your defensive wall at the enemy whenever you fire your weapon with it raised! Of course weaponizing your defenses in this way will require you to first prove you can do it by deflecting!
Bioshell: Spark
Evolution name: Orb Blast
Evolution function: Deflected orbs release a wave when hitting an enemy.
Required challenge: As Spark, kill 10 enemies with a single use of the active.
Spark's active ability packs a punch. This evolution's unlock condition challenges you to prove it by burning through a crowd of enemies in a single use! And in return you'll unlock the evolution to add more of a punch to your orbs as well.
Bioshell: Lightfist
Evolution name: Superfist
Evolution function: Releasing deflect at full charge fires a piercing fist.
Required challenge: As Lightfist, kill 6 enemies with a single double punch of the active ability.
You might want to group up your enemies before trying that challenge. Your reward? Lightfist's fully charged fist becomes a full high-flying piercing projectile!
Bioshell: Corrupted
Evolution name: Multiple Shards
Evolution function: Release two additional Crystals Shard lines when attacking.
Required challenge: As Corrupted, absorb 10 bullets with a single absorb.
That's one challenge for the specimen with a voracious appetite. Fed on enemy projectiles the Corrupted will be able to evolve to release three rows of crystalline shards with every attack!

Deflector's Summer major update
Greetings, Specimens! You may have witnessed the full release of Deflector, but we did tell you updates were still going to happen! And it's time for a big one.
This scorching Summer update brings with it multiple ways to become stronger both for you, and for your dire foes. We'll cover them in great detail further down the line, but for now let's dive right in with the broad strokes.
New evolutions for each bio-shell
Whether you just can't stop bouncing boomerangs as the Eradicator or bully viruses with Lightfist's punches - every bio-shell in the game is getting a brand new evolution! Unlocking them however isn't as simple as looking the Deflector AI straight in the eye(s) and saying "Pretty please". You'll have to complete a challenge to unlock each of them.
New virus strains
Since you've been doing so well against the existing virus strains it's time to add some new ones to the mix. With a total of four, you'll find them doing interesting things to the bullets you're used to deflecting and the enemies you're used to seeing in a given biome.
New anomalies
Rockets and larvae and poison puddles - oh my!
New languages added to the game
Deflector is now available in Traditional Chinese and Japanese!
Balance tweaks to Lightfist's Multiple Strike Evolution
Now breaking 6 marks instead of 3 and having twice the range!
We are far from done with Deflector and you can expect more updates further down the line. In the meantime - have fun in the petri dish!

Survival Competition - Crowning the winners!
- Raiser made an appearance as our number 2 on the scoreboard early on, but very nearly risked vanishing throughout the following weeks. Reemerging like a Giant Centipede burrowing out of the ground, Raiser now stands among our final winners in third place!
- Emerging from the very last week and jumping high from the get go is J_G112! A real burst of a performance that propelled them all the way to second place on our leaderboard! Fantastic work and sincere congratulations!
- ZombiZ first made themselves known during the very first week! They set a record that became the first one to get to the top, but was eventually outmatched. Not to be discouraged, ZombiZ kept coming back every week until they reached a score more than 20 times greater than their original! It's this juggernaut of a score that we're celebrating today as our winner in the first place!
