Deliria

To Hunters and Survivors And The Deliria Community

Hey Survivors and Hunters,

It's been a while... Unfortunately I do not come bearing great news. It is with a heavy heart that I need to share some unfortunate news about the future of Deliria. After an incredible journey encompassing two open Betas and nearly a year in Early Access, I have arrived at the difficult decision to retire Deliria for now. With this I want to take a moment to shed light on the reasoning behind this challenging choice.

In my pursuit of innovation and creating a fun and unique experience for horror genre fans I have hit a bit of a brick wall due to having not achieved the commercial success necessary to sustain the game's on-going development at this time.

My gratitude knows no bounds for the incredible community that has gathered around Deliria, whether it's here on Steam, Discord or TikTok. I want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every single one of you for an incredible 2 year experience. I had an absolute blast listening to your feedback and it has been my absolute pleasure working on this project along with you all.

I am immensely proud of the game I have crafted with all of your unwavering support. Do not think for a second that this marks the end of me developing games, I will be back and better than ever, but with a more focused vision and invaluable experience I have learnt from Deliria. Keep an eye on this space.

Thank you.

Patch 2.24 - The Phantom

A major update that adds a new Hunter to the roster along with on-going changes and bug fixes.

Patch Notes

New Content:

Introducing The Phantom, a brand new Hunter has been added for all Players to take advantage of. The Phantoms kit primarily focuses on a stealth and deception, utilizing her abilities will give Players a chance to cause disruption and make kills off of the confusion that ensues. The Doppelgänger is active for 6.5 seconds until it is destroyed. The Doppelgänger also carries with it the Hunters ambience track making it very hard to distinguish from the actual Hunter. The Doppelgänger by Survivors with a camera stun, however, doing so will result in any Survivors in the affected area to be stunned for a short period of time.

Cloaked - Allows The Phantom to temporarily disable her Hunter ambience track for 12 seconds, allowing for a new way to sneak up on her prey.

- Added The Phantom into all Players Hunter selection pool and random Hunter selection pool.
- Further optimization has been done to all existing maps in order to increase performance.

Developer Update: The Phantom

Hey Survivors and Hunters,

I hope you're all doing well, I wanted to just give a quick update on the current state of Deliria and it's upcoming content. Let's start with the most exciting news:

Upcoming content

In Update 2.24 Deliria will officially get it's first post-launch new Hunter: The Phantom. I won't divulge too much in this post but the new Hunter's kit is all based around stealth and deception, allowing the Hunter to get the jump on any unaware survivors and causing chaos with a new disruption ability.

To give you a little insight into the character behind The Phantom, her official description is as follows:
The Phantom was a recluse who watched horror movies to study the tactics of the killers. She believed she could do a better job than any of them and her mind twisted as she plotted her next move. Her custom-made Halloween mask struck fear into the hearts of those who saw it, and whispers of her reign of terror began to spread throughout the city. When The Phantom was around, no one was safe.

Bug fixes and improvements

My goal is to also continue supporting Deliria through regular maintenance and bug fixes. But in order to do this I need your feedback. If you have any suggestions for improvements I can make, or if you want to report any bugs directly to me you can do so on our community Discord server .

A few improvements have already been raised and rest assured, they are on the to do list. One area of particular focus is the potential of adding bot lobbies in a future update. At the moment this is still a ways off but this is of extreme interest to me to pad out lobbies that are not full. I'm also going to be pushing more on the marketing this month to get Deliria out to more people.

Thank you all for your constant support of Deliria, it's an absolute pleasure to update this game and get more content out for you. Oh, I think I forgot to mention all future Hunters will be free for all!

All the best and see you in game,

DotNET

The Launch Day - Deliria goes into Early Access!

Hey Survivors and Hunters,

Let me take a moment to breathe and express my excitement that we've finally made it. After 4-5 years of developing Deliria from the ground up, my first ever independent horror game is launching on Steam, and I couldn't be happier.

Deliria began as a passion project for me to learn the ins and outs of game development, but thanks to all of your love and support, it has flourished into a fully-fledged indie horror game. I want to take a moment to thank you all, not only for reading this but for giving me a chance to entertain you with a smaller scale multiplayer horror game ː8bitheartː.

With that out of the way, let's talk more about Deliria's launch on the 22nd of February!

The Early-Access launch

Deliria has been a work in progress for some time, but I finally feel like I'm ready to share it with you all. To give me the time I need to continue to develop and polish the game, I've decided to go down the Early Access route.

The game will be available for purchase early-morning on February 22, 2023, and will be available for all regions simultaneously.

The Maps

The game is launching with three maps that I have already shown you small snippets of: Camp Overlook, Red Oaks and Green Valley Mental Institution. It is my plan to tweak and improve these maps in response to your feedback, so feel free to share any improvements you'd recommend either here on Steam or on our Discord server.

The Hunters

Now, onto the main highlight, the Hunters! The game is launching with four Hunters out of the gate, each with their own unique playstyles and strengths: The Maniac, The Experiment, The Skinner and The Revenant! All of these Hunters are included in the base game, and my current goal is to release new Hunters on a semi-regular basis, and for the low low price of FREE. More updates regarding future content will come, but I need to currently focus on one thing at a time.

The In-Game Store

Regardless of the role you play, you'll earn Darkness Bonds for performing certain actions, such as opening chests, completing objectives, or as a Hunter using your abilities and injuring/killing Survivors. These will all be tallied up at the end of the game and applied to your Darkness Bonds pouch!

These bonds can be used to purchase small Camera charms for you to equip in-game, and in the future, to purchase more Survivors as I add to the existing roster over time. I would love to expand on this idea in the future, but currently, with it only being me actively working on the game, my priorities are ensuring the game is operating as it should be.

Feedback

Feedback is incredibly important to a game's future success, and in order for me to make the best product for you, I need your feedback! If you have suggestions, bugs, improvements, or just want to share your ideas, please feel free to do so in Deliria's community hub here on Steam or join our official Discord server.

In conclusion, it's been an absolutely wild ride, and I really hope you find some entertainment and enjoy what Deliria has to offer in the indie multiplayer horror sphere. If you enjoy your time, a positive review on Steam would mean the absolute world to me. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and I can't wait to see some of you in-game!

All the best,

DotNET

Free Weekend 10th -12th of Feb

Hey Survivors,

Let me start this post by saying what a thrilling ride this has been. The constant attention and support you have all been showing Deliria since the new year has been nothing short of amazing. You all constantly inspire me to keep pushing forward with my goals for Deliria and I cannot thank each and every one of you enough. With that being said, let's get to the reason you clicked on this post, the free weekend!

The Free Weekend

It's no secret at this point that I've been working on Deliria for a while, and I'm nervous to of course put the game out there, it's important that I swallow my fears and let all of you play and give me the feedback I desperately need.

Starting February 10th, Deliria will be free to play for all, this will be running until February 12th when the testing/free weekend comes to a close. The goal of this free weekend is to get Deliria into as many people's hands as possible in order to test the game and also gather feedback so I can improve the game further.

Early-Access

Deliria will be launching into an Early-Access state shortly after the Free weekend comes to a close, I'll allow myself a little bit of time to resolve and problems and bugs that may arise during the weekend but my goal is to hit the ground running and begin supporting the game in a live environment as soon as possible.

One thing to note, while I have an idea of pricing currently, I will be posting updates and getting feedback from you, the players, about what price point feels right for the game in it's current state.

Bug reporting & Feedback

For me to deliver you the best product I can, I need your suggestions, feedback and bug reports. You'll be able to post all of this in our official Discord server, which you can join by clicking here! I'll also be posting some goodies in the Discord server during the free weekend that you can all claim, but to know more you'll have to join.

One final thing to note, people who participated previously in Deliria's open BETA in October will automatically be eligible for this free weekend. Not to mention they will get exclusive early access to the live build as of the writing of this post. Just look for Deliria BETA under your Steam library to download it.

Thank you all, and I can't wait to see you in-game!

Happy Holidays & What's new for 2023?

Greetings, Survivors and Hunters!

Firstly, let me start by saying what a tremendous year 2023 has been for Deliria as a whole. We started the community Discord server that you can join here, successfully launched Deliria's first ever open BETA and got some incredibly valuable feedback from the community.

I also want to wish each and every one of you a relaxing and prosperous happy holidays! I could not ask for a better group of people supporting myself, the development and Deliria as a whole. With all of that out of the way, let's dig into some of the questions I keep seeing pop up from time to time:

When is Deliria launching into Early-Access?

Lets get the most requested question out of the way first. With the current rate of Development and in it's current state, I'm of the belief that Deliria can launch into Early-Access during Q1 of 2023. I don't have a specific date in mind just yet, but that's my current plan.

What new content will launch with Early-Access?

I've been working to have new content ready for launch alongside Early-Access to give everybody new toys to play with (especially for the Play testers over on Discord, you guys are the best). So to start, a new Hunter will be launching with the game: The Revenant

The Revenant launches with a new range of abilities that make him an offensive powerhouse. If you like a fast paced and aggressive play style then you will absolutely love The Revenant.

But that's not all, included with the Early-Access launch you'll also be able to play our newest map: Green Valley Mental Institution

A corrupt institution for those most vulnerable has been abandoned. You'll get to experience this haunting location for yourselves first hand! I'm beyond proud of this map and I cannot wait for you all to try it out.

With more improvements to the Voicechat system, HUD design, gameplay and sound design in the pipeline I think 2023 is going to be a fantastic year for Deliria. When I have more to share closer to Deliria's release, expect to see another post here! Thank you all once again for your constant support, I can't wait to see you all in-game.

All the best,
DotNET

DELIRIA's Satisfaction Survey

Hey Survivors,

What a week! Where do I begin? Deliria's BETA amassed a total of over 500 players willing to try my small indie game out! I'm blown away by the amount of support you all have shown Deliria over this last week and I cannot wait to keep improving on the experience as a whole.

So what's next?
As stated previously my goal is to get Deliria into Early-Access sooner rather than later but I have a few things that need to be addressed before I can get there. So far, there's been a handful of bugs that I have already fixed but there's still more to do.

My focus is going to be tweaking the gameplay until it's to a standard I am happy with, and to address concerns/bugs that members of the community have brought to my attention. There may be another BETA down the line but it really depends on the results of this Satisfaction Survey.

I want to hear your feedback!
As mentioned in the title, I'd love to hear your personal feedback with Deliria. If you could take 5 minutes out of your day to give me your honest feedback using this feedback survey I would be extremely greatful. It gives me a better understanding of what I should be prioritizing before Early-Access.

Once again, a huge thank you to all of the amazing folks who tried out Deliria's BETA and I cannot wait to show you more very soon.

All the best,

DotNET
