Devilian Producer’s Letter – June 2016
This is Andrew “Drewcifer” Sipotz, Producer on Devilian, and I’m excited to talk about what’s coming to Devilian in the next few months! The teams at Bluehole Ginno and Trion have been focused on delivering some great new content for summer that I want to discuss, plus there’s also a bunch of other stuff that has been going on since the last Producer’s Letter, so let’s dive right in.
Terror from the Depths
Introduced in our “Stormfront Invasion” update, Terror from the Depths is a massive battleground for up to 120 players that splits players into attacking and defending teams who must battle it out in Devilian form for control of the Stormfront Invasion Site. It’s unlike any other battle in Devilian, and quickly became a favorite thanks to its great gameplay and even greater rewards. Terror from the Depths is open on Thursday and Sunday evenings, so come join the fun! And yes, the rumors are true, Terror from the Depths will be getting a name change in Devilian 1.4 and will be known as Stormfront War from here on out.
Changes to PVP
We’re happy to see an even more active and competitive PVP scene since our changes in 1.3.5. We combined Devilian form PVP and class PVP into one type of PVP battle. Now in 20 vs 20 battles you’ll gain Devilian gauge as the match progresses, then proceed to lay waste to your enemies when you’ve shifted into Devilian form. We also saw the removal of pre-made groups in Decayed Sanctuary, making 3 vs 3 battles much more dangerous than ever before.
Megaservers
Our latest update saw us combine our playerbases into two new Megaservers: Bolton for North America and Elara for Europe. I want to take a minute to thank all of our players in both regions for their patience during the extended downtime. It’s great seeing the community come together and meet new friends. It’s exciting to see new challenges for guilds participating in Devilian War and Guild Tournaments and I’m having a lot of fun fighting new faces in PVP on the new servers.
What’s next?
With the Megaserver up and running, we’re looking forward to our next major update. I’m happy to announce Devilian Update 1.4: Alvir’s Legacy is coming this summer.
Devilian 1.4: Alvir’s Legacy
In addition to increasing the level cap from level 54 to 56, Alvir’s Legacy will also introduce many new challenges and trials for the Devilians to overcome. While the forces of Bezda wage war at the Stormfront Invasion Site, Kavel has resurrected one of his most loyal servants and works to unleash ancient and terrifying devils. If the Devilians hope to prevail against these ancient evils, they will have to find a new source of power that can rival Kavel’s own.
New Heroic and Hell Dungeons, New Archdevil Dungeon and Heroic Archdevil Dungeon
Alvir’s Legacy will introduce 4 new Heroic and Hell mode dungeons, 1 new Archdevil Dungeon, and a brand new dungeon type: the Heroic Archdevil dungeon. Designed for only the most powerful Devilians, this new type of dungeon will challenge even the most battle hardened half-devils.
New Gear Sets: Dark Knowledge, Wicked Souls, and More!
To get you prepared for the challenges in Alvir’s Legacy, new high level armor sets will be made available in both PVP and PVE. Collect the new Blaze, Dark Knowledge, Wicked Soul, and Sacred armor sets to protect yourself in battle against Kavel’s forces. New Malefic accessories will also be available from the Abyssal Tower merchant.
In addition, Devilians who are victorious in PVP battles will earn a new type of currency: Victory Certifications. These certifications can be used to acquire unique cosmetic items and a new title. Show your prowess on the battlefield to everyone around you!
Alvir’s Artifacts and Greater Artifacts
The new challenges that await in Alvir’s Legacy will require a new power: Alvir’s Artifacts. These new Artifacts will greatly enhance your gear and, once leveled up to +9, can be awakened into Greater Alvir’s Artifacts by the Legendary Blacksmith in Asperon.
Spent a lot of time and gems on your previous artifact? A legendary crafter has come to Asperon and will exchange your Alon’s +5 or greater Artifacts into the equivalent Alvir’s Artifacts.
Support Medallions
New characters will receive a currency called Support Medallions as they level up that can be exchanged for items such as Gemmed Talisman Boxes and Inventory Expansion Scrolls. A box of Support Medallions will be earned every five levels, containing a number of Support Medallions equal to your level. To give you an idea of the rewards and cost, a 3-day Elara’s Blessing (+50% Bonus EXP) costs fifteen Support Medallions.
Patron players will be able to open two Support Crates every 5 levels, doubling the number of Support Medallions you receive. Be sure to check in with Wilson, a new merchant who will be hanging near the gates of Asperon, to check out the rewards you can claim!
This update will be hitting PTS in the near future so please come check out the changes. I’m excited to dive right into these new challenges when Alvir’s Legacy comes to Devilian this summer. Battle on Devilians!
The absolutely massive Terror from the Depths PvP event has arrived in Nala at last! In this battle for the Stormfront, you heed the call to battle as either Bolton or Heimdas, where your battle to claim capture points and kill bosses will begin. This Devilian form unbolstered PvP event starts when 40 players join the battle. This event can host up to 60 players on each side for a whopping 120 players total!
Find this fight every Thursday and Sunday from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM PDT/UTC.
In this immense event, you’ll first select an instance to join. Find the prompt for Terror from the Depths at the bottom right-hand side of your screen, select your instance, and you’ll be transported to the staging grounds. When enough Devilians have heeded the call to battle, it will begin!
As the attackers, your objective will be to destroy the Guardian Tower at the center of the PvP map. You have 10 minutes to complete this task, but you can extend this time by capturing objectives or destroying defensive barriers.
As the defenders, your objective is to protect the Guardian Tower at all costs. After the first match completes, the teams will switch sides, and the battle will begin once more! The team that destroys the Guardian Tower fastest will win.
Rewards:
· Participation: All players earn gold, experience, and Devil Soul from participating in the Terror from the Depths event. Members of the winning team will receive more.
· Class Contribution: The top 10 performers per class receive rewards including Devilian enchanting materials and Devilian gear.
· Legacy Reward: The player with the highest contribution from the winning team is announced via system message to the server and rewarded a Devilian weapon and Necklace, there is a small chance to earn Heroic Devilian gear from the legacy reward.

You can gain the pet appearance of Greedy or the Venomous Larva by finding these Soulstones in-game. Once discovered, you can craft a Pet Core to embody the soul within! Pet Cores can be unleashed with the sacred Bloodstone, available now in our Marketplace.
