Updates

Since the game is moving along at a decent pace, weekly updates will be changing a bit. Instead of an update just saying still working on this or that, updates will now come when something is patched, or a new feature is added. Videos will also be added to explain things better as they are implemented. Currently to avoid delays and long gaps in progress on Devoured Time, any video or other media related to Devoured Time will not be top quality stuff. If you have prevously watched any other videos you can already tell that my skill in making them is low, but thats not due to an inability to improve its a lack of time. At the end of the day I think its more important to focus most if not all the extra time available into the game. As always thanks for your support.

Building System

Weekly Update 16

Started work on the building system, will release that early like the combat system. As mentioned in the patch notes, the combat system is still a work in progress so it will get better as time goes on. The plan is to get the building system working better and create a few survival style scenarios so people can have things to do during development. Those scenarios will play out like hybrid tower defense games. You will have to survive wave after wave of enemies while repairing towers. Killing the enemies will give you build points and health potions. Pretty simple for now, more or less something to play while the single player is being developed.

I plan to release the building patch soon, then follow it up with those scenarios. As always thanks for your support.

Weekly Update 15

A new patch will be coming out soon with the early version of the combat system. I’m currently just working on a new video series going over the ins and outs of the system, and showing its current state. When that’s done I’ll release the patch. As far as the combat system, it’s still been a smooth ride. The coding of it hasn’t had many issues, not has the visual aspects. After the combat system us fully coded, I will make some scenario games to play so the combat system can be tested properly. The home base system is huge, its over half of the gameplay experience so it will require many videos and patches before it’s done. Look out for the next patch and videos this week. Weekly Update 14

Combat system is coming along quickly. As soon as the core of it is complete a patch will come out added it in the alpha systems section in the main menu. At that same time a video will be released, probably a multi part one focused on the combat system. Not sure how many parts it will be, but it will cover the reason for going with this system, how the system works, and the last part will be sort of a video tutorial to help people understand the system as you would be using it. After combat it’s on to home base. Thanks for your support.

Those are the features seen in this version, but the base code was rewritten and all the features planned were built and tested in this new code. Basic gameplay test have been completed, but please if you run into a bug or something looks wrong leave me feedback.

Began work on combat already and its coming along great. It’s much faster and looks better. Timeframe looks to be about two months, maybe less. After that patch will begin on the home base system which will come out in stages as it’s the largest system yet. Between those updates will do bug fixes and release minor patches.

A kickstarter was created in hopes of getting more funds and fans. The funds would be used to get better 3d models and animations. So far it’s not looking good, but as I continue to advertise I hope to at least spread awareness of the game. Please spread the word and send people to the link below or strait here to help support the game. While the funds the kickstarter would help a great deal, it doesn’t change the fact that the game is going to be complete with or without those funds, only that it will look a bit better. Weekly Update 13

The 27th of this month is the release date for this first major patch. As mentioned before it will lack combat, but not to worry I’ve already started on that last week. The tutorial will miss that part as I didn’t see a point in going over the existing system only to completely change it. Patch notes in detail will come out the 27th.

The combat system has been mapped out along with the home base system. If you want to follow up on them I will be adding a discussion about those two in a few days. I’m excited to talk about the combat and homes base.
