Corrupted Fates - The brand new expansion for Dice Legacy is now available!
The time has finally come - Corrupted Fates, Dice Legacy's expansion releases today! We're very happy to bring to you a lot of new content for Dice Legacy, including a brand new game mode. This time, we're fully embracing the dark side of the ring!
Corrupted Fates focuses on Cultists - a brand new class of dice. Invaders are at your shores and your society, weak and corrupted, falls prey to the allure of a dark and powerful entity.
Cultist add new mechanics such as a Madness meter to keep in check, Revelations that grant new powers, Corrupted Policies proposed by other classes and more. We also built on existing systems and expanded upon Corruption with the overall intent of adding new layers of depth to the Dice Legacy gameplay. Cultists are powerful and versatile but bring with them a lot of dangers.
We also added a new game mode that focuses on the ending of Dice Legacy, this time from the point of view of The Others. The council thinks that by sacrificing you they can stop the attackers. What will you sacrifice to save yourself?
Content Overview
New Dice Class: Cultists
A mysterious Cult has formed within your realm. Cultists can sacrifice other Dice to tap into arcane powers.
11 new technologies, 12 new policies and 7 new Memories to collect.
A new Ruler: The Vicar. A longstanding member of the Council, capable of hiding the Corruption that is spreading among the people.
6 new buildings: Obtain resources by sacrificing Dice in the Void Well. Generate knowledge by corrupting Dice in the Knowledge Extractor. Appease your people at the Offering Stone and generate new previously impossible combinations of Dice in the Cradle of Rebirth.
New Mechanics
As the Cultists presence grows, it will lead other classes to propose Corrupted Policies. Very powerful but with sinister downsides.
Your wicked actions will cause your Madness to rise. This could be your downfall or the key to access new powers.
Accept Revelations from an otherworldly presence. Your newfound insight will yield powerful effects based on the faces you have in your dice pool.
New Game Mode: The Downfall
Witness the end of Dice Legacy from the Other's side. Invaders are at your shores. Your society is weak and corrupted and the council thinks that in your sacrifice lies the solution to their problems. You must build a galleon and escape this forsaken land.
A whole new way of playing Dice Legacy. Sacrifice Dice to obtain Soul Tokens and exchange them for resources. Manage the Council threat and escape before the attack.
Changes to the base game
The following improvements have been made to the game and will be available to all players who already own the game.
Fixed an issue where the game could randomly freeze for some players.
Added an option to keep sounds play in the background if the app loses focus
Changed the way tutorials work. Now they unlock progressively and their progress is carried between games. This means that you can play with the tutorial enabled and only see prompts for things you have not seen yet. The tutorial can be reset from the Game options menu.
We now check for scenario completions on game startup based on the player profile. This should solve the issue of some achievements not triggering for some players.
The build menu doesn't have arrows anymore and spreads wider.
Various Balancing adjustments.
Overall we really hope you will enjoy the expansion and that you enjoyed your journey through the Ringworld with us. We'll see you on the other side!

Weather System & New Scenarios - New Free Update Released!
Hello folks, today we make good on our promises as we are releasing the third major free update for Dice Legacy which introduces a whole new Weather System as well as two new scenarios for Forging a Realm.
During the past three months, we strived to both listen to feedback and grow the amount of content present in the game. Whether we succeeded or not it's for you to tell us, but darn it we did our best.
This update tries to add more variety to both modes with a Weather System that is meant to balance itself with the other threats present on the ringworld. From Heavy Rains to Droughts, from Strong Winds to a menacing Blood Moon, there's a whole new set of positive and negative situations to deal with.
We also expanded on Forging a Realm, bringing it to a more proper level of maturity with new demand types and two new scenarios that are definitely crazier than usual.
We truly hope that you will enjoy this update. If you do make sure to tell your friends and family about Dice Legacy this holiday season and if you appreciate the game and our efforts, consider leaving a positive review - they help a ton!
Full Changelog
Weather System
One aspect of the game we're trying to improve is providing new challenges for experienced players and increase the variety of games. Today we are introducing a whole new Weather System that brings a whole new layer of challenges to the game. The system can be toggled in the Game Options right before starting a new Scenario and is on by default.
Added a new Weather System that is present in all game modes. From Rains to Droughts, from Ice Storms to Strong winds, face a whole new set of challenges!
Occasionally a particular Weather Phenomena might occur. Weather Phenomena is forecasted at the beginning of the season and occurs in the middle portion of a season. Weather Phenomena bring with them various effects that can make the game easier or harder.
Experience 8 Different Weather Phenomena for the Summer and 8 for the Winter.
Forging a Realm: New Demands
We were happy with the response to the new game mode, but we knew we wanted to expand on it further. Today we're introducing 4 new "rare" demand types to increase the variety of Forging a Realm even further.
Added some more rare demands for Forging a Realm, with the intent of increasing variety.
Added a "Construct a specific building" Demand.
Added a "Research a specific technology" Demand.
Added a "Research a certain number of technologies" Demand.
Added a "Control a certain number of Class District Halls" Demand.
Forging a Realm: New Scenarios
One feedback we got from players on the original Scenarios was that some of them were not providing enough of a different experience from the regular Escaping Fate gameplay. Scenarios were a relatively easy way for us to offer more content for the game, however with Forging a Realm we wanted to really push them into a different direction that could really offer a new - perhaps a bit wilder - way of playing the game.
Bizzarre Demands Scenario - The cost of Buildings and Technologies is randomized at the start of the game. Dice and Resource requirements for each Building, Location Structure and Threat are also randomized. Megarandom! Throw your assumptions out of the window.
Building a Following Scenario - House is disabled. Receive a random Die when completing a Demand. Gone are the super optimized builds, earn dice by completing demands.
Balancing
Revised all of the Encampments requirements in order to make them more viable. Generally speaking now interacting with the various Encampments should provide more interesting opportunities for trade.
Minor balancing adjustments done to Forging a Realm.
Miscellaneous
Demands that are about to expire in Forging a Realm now automatically open the Demands Panel.
Fixed a bug with unlocking the True Ending.
Various bug fixes and improvements.
A Storm is Coming! Get early access to our upcoming update today!
Hello folks. Today I am proud to announce that you can get early access to our upcoming December Update on the Laboratory Branch right here on Steam. Shortly after the release of our first update we put out a Roadmap that outlined 3 free major updates plus one paid DLC. So far, we've been able to deliver on everything that was promised and we've been very happy with the response. We hope you'll enjoy this update too and we hope that you will appreciate all the effor that is going in expanding the Dice Legacy experience.
Our next update adds a whole new system to both game modes, new scenarios for Forging a Realm as well as new demands, balancing adjustments and more. The full changelog is available below.
The Weather System adds quite a bit of new elements to the game, so we're very much looking forward to your feedback on it, so we can adjust things before release and in future updates.
As always, the best way to provide feedback is through our Discord server at https://discord.gg/dicelegacy or in the dedicated Laboratory section of our Steam forums.

How to access the Laboratory branch
Right click on Dice Legacy in your Steam library.
Click on Properties.
Select "Beta".
Select the branch "laboratory" from the dropdown menu.
Close the window.
This should prompt a game update, after which you will be good to go.
If the game appears in your library as "Dice Legacy [laboratory]" you're on the right branch.
In case you want to revert back to the regular version of the game, simply follow the same procedure but select "none" in the Beta dropdown menu.
Warning The Laboratory branch is to be intended as work in progress. In the Laboratory branch, the game could contain bugs, glitches or missing features. Additionally, some texts could lack translations. If you're seeking a stable experience, please play the regular version of Dice Legacy. The Laboratory branch will be considered the bleeding edge of development, and as such it could sometimes be rougher around the edges.
Keep also in mind that the Laboratory branch does not share the same savefiles with the regular branch and that savefiles are to be considered as cross-compatible between versions.
New Game Mode! - Forging a Realm Update is Now Available!
Hello folks, it's been about a month since we announced our Development Roadmap and since then we've been working hard on delivering on the promised updates. One of the things that players have been asking for the most is more variety and more content. We are delivering on that today.
When we started working on a New Scenario, we went a bit beyond the initial scope that we gave ourselves. As such, a potential new Scenario became a fully fledged New Mode that we're calling Forging a Realm.
In this brand new game mode, you're a newly crowned Ruler, attempting to meet the demands of the people or risk being overthrown. We decided to call it a new "Game Mode" to differentiate it from the other scenarios, since it plays in a radically different way, offering a more economic-centric style of gameplay for folks who enjoy that aspect of the game more. We plan to expand this new mode with dedicated and more varied Scenarios and with potential new additions to its gameplay.
In the next few days we will publish an updated Roadmap that reflects our accomplishments as well as a more clear future following this update.
As always, we'd like to hear from you! Please reach out to us on the Steam forums or on our discord at https://discord.gg/dicelegacy
If you're enjoying the updates and you haven't done so already, please consider leaving a positive review. They help a ton!
Changelog
New Game Mode: Forging a Realm
Added a new Game Mode called "Forging a Realm" which unlocks after surviving the first winter (the mode is already unlocked for people who already finished the game at least once).
In Forging a Realm, the Player is a newly appointed leader that has to deal with the various Demands from the people.
Demands have a timer associated with them. Succeeding in solving the various Demands before their timer expires will build Confidence. Failing will mean getting overthrown.
Demands can be completed from a new Demands Panel, available on the top left of the screen.
Completing a Demand rapidly will generate more Confidence.
The various difficulty levels control how many times the player can fail in meeting Demands, the difficulty of Demands and how much Confidence is needed to win.
The map generation algorithm is unique for this map. Opportunities have less durability. The Others are absent. Bandit Encampments offer some resistance.
Memories unlock in this mode after completing it at least once.
We are considering adding more Demand types for future updates.
Only one Scenario is currently available. More Scenarios for "Forging a Realm" will come in a future update.
The "previous" Game Mode is now called "Escaping Fate".
Anything revolving around the "True Ending" of the game is absent in the Forging a Realm mode.
Camera Improvements
Added "Camera Bookmarks" akin to some RTS games.
By default you can press CTRL+F1-F5 to save up to 5 camera locations and recall them by pressing F1-F5.
Camera Bookmarks are shown on the Minimap and can be removed by right-clicking on them.
Added a "Camera Lean" feature which trucks the camera left or right by pressing either A or D.
The intensity of the Camera Lean can be controlled in the options.
Dice Shells
Construct Dice can now have different kinds of Dice Shells.
Each Dice Shell has a requirement to be available for a certain Die.
Dice Shells can change in-game as a result of using the Forge or the Laboratory. Each Shell has a different probability of appearing in-game.
When a die is Ascended, its Shell can be customized in the Ascended Dice screen.
We are kicking things off with 10 shells.
The "Royal" Shell unlocks after completing the game at least once.
Balancing
Altered The Market to require a Trade % Face. The Market has now a chance to provide 1 or 2 extra gold based on the power of the Trade face used. Technologies now reflect this change and increase the chance of extra gold. Additionally, the Market now changes its required resource at the change of every season if the market wasn't used recently.
The Theater has been completely re-designed. Now it consumes 3 gold to increase the Happiness of all classes that have a Class District Hall nearby.
The Tower no longer affects enemy structures, making it effectively just a defensive building.
Scholars technology has been removed from the game.
Block Printing technology has been moved to the fourth technology level.
These changes will be present in any new game created after the update. Any game that was in progress before will still have the old buildings and technologies.
Miscellaneous
Improved the readability of Meadows by removing the tree in favor of bushes.
In the Metropolis Scenario, The Others will now react sooner if the player starts building near their city.
