0.2.5.62.18 - Hotfix, and improvements!

Hi everyone!
I still can not believe it's been just over a week since the release of Die Young on Steam.
Once again I take the opportunity to thank all of you for the warm support.
Your comments, your praises, your criticism, and the hours you spend playing Die Young give us the power to improve and extend Daphne's adventure.

Here in Rome while i write this there are 35 °C and weather is hot, (I love it). And from my window I see a desolate countryside. Looks like our mysterious island, right?
I know that many of you have already reached the limit of actual playable area and can't wait to see what's next.
Trust me, there's is a bunch of stuff to see and lots of things that still have to happen! We are working for you.


Meantime, we release 0.2.5.62.18 patch that introduces support for some few things you've asked for (mouse settings anyone ? ;-) ), also some calibrations we've been able to review based on your feedback, and of course our weekly dose of bug fixes!

- added mouse sensitivity setting in general options menu
- added saving icons on screen
- added post process effect when in poisoned state
- added Daphne look change in inventory when wearing an item.
- weapon balancing
- rat health tweak ( should die after 2 hits max with stronger weapons )
- fixed manor farm boxes unable to fall down
- fixed some rocks not triggering climbing animations
- fixed frame rate drops in coastal tower and beach house
- fixed PP bug
- fixed key order bug
- fixed keybinding auto reset to default values
- general graphic bugfixes and improvements

0.2.5.40.18 - Fixes, improvements, FOV settings & more.

Hey everyone!

With this patch we introduce few features, tweaks and improvements.
We also have fixed several bugs and added graphic optimization.

Above all we added dynamic FOV change while running ( sprint FOV )
this adds more speed feeling.
It is now also possible to set preferred FOV from graphic options,
it ranges from 81 to 109.
Several improvements in parkour system were made also, now is possible to grab ledges with a bit more precision.
The annoying bug of snake sound present in open countryside, even if no snake around,was also fixed

We also reconsidered the durability of all weapons and now they should last longer. Especially stock weapons ( not crafted ones ).

- wearable items now visibile in Inventory

Meanwhile we keep working on new areas. A new area will be unlocked in the next few weeks, and then we will focus on the big tower you see in the background.

Do The Dog Barks Sound Like "Thank You"? - 0.2.5.8.18 hotfix



Ciao survivors!

So, by now we are more than sure that most of you have had a run-in or 100 with some of the lovable dogs you'll find freely roaming the island but who attack only you! ːsteammockingː It's all in good fun!

On a serious note, we wanted to take a minute to thank you all so much for the warm reception with which you've greeted Die Young! Your support for our Early Access release has truly exceeded our expectations and we're absolutely humbled by your appreciation.

We're not going to pretend that we don't know the stigma that surrounds the phrase "Early Access" and so we just want outline our main promises for the Die Young community:

  • This game will exit Early Access. We still cannot say when for sure but you can expect frequent updates as we explained them in our Survival Trail.
  • You've got our full attention! We are listening to all of your feedback and everything you tell us (this is the case since our alpha) is extremely helpful in guiding us towards improvement. So keep it coming!
  • It will only get better. As an EA title it's obvious that there will be the occasional bug and/or glitch, but by the time we exit we would have cleaned house. We're dedicated to making sure that the wrinkles that may irritate you today won't be there tomorrow.

We're also very grateful for all the videos that are coming out!

Hey everybody!

We can hardly believe it ourselves but we're now just 3 days away from Die Young's Steam release and we couldn't be more excited! The results of our Open Alpha seriously exceeded our expectations and we're humbled to have so many early-adopter fans and such a supportive community.

If you haven't already, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter where we'll be dropping frequent updates along the path to our launch and after it.

Whether you're already knee-deep in Die Young's adventure or you're still about to join the thrill-ride of the summer (launch price info coming up), let's have a look at the survival trail...

Survival Trail


We've already made good headway with development. Our Open Alpha gave access to a part of the island about 5 square kilometers large with nearly 25 quests/missions (~15 hours of gameplay).

As we release on Steam, we'll be periodically rolling out a total of 70 quests over a surface area of 12 square kilometers. Some features we intend to add are (in no particular order):

  • More enemies: There are currently 4 types of animal enemies and 2 types of human enemies; we plan to double the number in each category.
  • Drug-Induced/Hallucination State: Players will have to fight with mind-generated monsters and mobs.
  • Environmental Damage: Areas destroyable by fire.
  • Contraptions: Booby traps, killing machines, etc.
  • More bosses

Rounding up the main storyline and polishing up game features will be the focus of the following months.

Price


We've decided to release the game at a price of $14.99 USD. As we progress and update the game with new features and added content this will mostly likely increase. However, as a warm welcome for this summer's survivors, we'll be launching at 10% off. Meaning you'll be paying just a little over $13 for the game.

Remember, everyone who jumped on board during the Open Alpha will get updates automatically. These players can also vouch for the quality and quantity of content already in the alpha version.
