Hey everyone! Dinkum's latest update “Flaming Winter” is live and ready to play!

When you start playing, you might notice that winter in Dinkum feels a lot cooler.
Snowfall can now occur in winter! Sometimes during winter, it will snow on your island instead of rain. If you get super lucky and it snows in the morning, your island will experience a snow day. On these days, snow will cover the landscape of your island, you’ll hear the snow crunching under your feet and you might even find some other unique occurrences around your island. So be sure to go exploring on a snow day.
Snow days will be somewhat rare, but they will occur more often if you have a way to to control the rain on your island…
Now, there’s a sneak peek at the “winter” part of the update. What about the “flaming” part I hear you ask?
Well, I’d like to introduce a new level of the mines, a level even deeper than the Undergrove…
Welcome to the Hot Hot Hot.
This 3rd level of the mines is the most dangerous level yet. So dangerous in fact, that the peaceful wish doesn’t seem to affect its denizens.
This mine level is intended to be visited by late game players. You’ll want good gear, good food and maybe some good friends to help you explore the lava filled depths. There are large dungeon-like structures to loot for new treasure, and rare Berkonium nodes to find and return to the new Gem Crusher near the mine's entrance.
Well, I think that covers both the Flaming and the Winter parts of this update. I'll leave it up to you to discover all the other new things you can find in this update. But, if you're the type of person who needs an even more detailed breakdown, the patch notes are down below.

If it snows in the morning on some days in winter, your island will experience a snow day
There are new activities to discover during a snow day, so go exploring!
Added a new animal that can only be found during the winter months
Added two new enemies found in the new mine level - These aren’t animals, so the Peaceful Wish won't affect them.
Added a sit emote to sit anywhere.
Clover now sells Mannequins in her shop. Use them to store and show off your clothing
There is are two new items available to buy at the museum that help display your prized possessions
Added Recipes for tool racks. These can store your tools and show off the first 3 put in them.

Jimmy now sells a new very silly item to help trick your friends
Added a way to create cosmetic “Lava Beds” which work similarly to water beds

Catching a fish from a pond no longer counts towards your pedia total
Improved and changed the visuals of some cosmetic items
Made a change to critter bubbles appearance
Item signs now use “interact” button to set their image
Pocket Watches no longer work in the mines or on the Island Reef
Dev command menu now requires players to hold the C key

Fixed a bug that prevented writing on signs while inside a house
Fixed a bug that caused raffle wheel to not work while inside a house
Fixed a bug that caused auto stackers to place items in fish ponds, preventing them from being picked up
Fixed a bug that caused the chat text caret to behave incorrectly when sending longer messages
Fixed a bug that showed Miner’s Helmet remaining fuel incorrectly in head slot
Fixed a bug that would sometimes prevent vehicles from jumping
Fixed a bug that would cause some weather effects to show when underground
Fixed a bug that would sometime cause NPCs to walk into unescapable tiles on the map

Fixed a bug that would not store the stacked amount of clothing on a player when they saved and returned to the game. Including the miner’s helmet remaining fuel.
Fixed a bug that caused carriables inside houses to appear at ground level outside when terraforming
Fixed a bug that prevented item signs from working correctly when inside a house
Sign’s content inside of a house now moves correctly when a house is moved
Signs with writing now sync correctly when visiting players enter a house for the first time
Fixed a bug that would cause players to lose the flooring or wallpaper on the house walls/floor if they changed it while having a full inventory
Fixed a bug that caused special flooring and wallpaper to appear in Melvin’s shop

Celebrating two years of Dinkum
G’day everyone!
Did you know that Dinkum was released on July 14th two years ago? Back then, I wasn’t sure if anyone would play my little game. Now, two years later, I cannot express how wonderful it is to have a community that is so involved and enthusiastic, as well as patient, while I’ve continued to work towards version 1.0. So I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has played!
To celebrate the second Dinki-versary, John once again has his anniversary event running full-time. He’ll give you a ticket for every fish sold to him. So try and collect as many tickets as you can to claim some of his rewards. Once the anniversary event has ended, John will return to running this event only during the first week of every summer, starting in year 2. So get out there and do some fishing!
I’ve also heard that Franklyn has invented a handy new tool that might be of interest to any industrious wattle or fruit farmers out there - The Har-Vac.
The Har-Vac can suck fruit and flowers straight off the plant and into your pockets. This item will be available for people who have found a lot of the mysterious ore known as Berkonium. Oh, and Franklyn might need a disc or two to learn how to make it.
Finally, Milburn is selling something in the bank. I’ve heard that it makes banking more convenient on the weekend? That might be something you want to look into as well.

The Breezy Autumn Update is Here!
G’day!
Can you sense the cooler breeze on your face and notice the trees changing colours? Do you find yourself reaching for a blanket at night or an extra jumper in the early morning? Are the temperatures outside rather comfy, with the sun no longer scorching you in seconds? If you’re feeling that cooler change, it can only mean one thing: Autumn has arrived in Dinkum. And this season’s Autumn has brought along the Breezy Autumn Update!
When you stroll around your island, take a look around and see how more colourful this Autumn is. The trees have changed to shades of gold and orange, and if you’re paying attention during the night, you might see a new weather event. This rare event will happen more often during the Autumn and Winter seasons.
But don't just look up at the sky; take a moment to notice the Mushrooms sprouting from the ground. Different varieties of mushrooms will appear across the island during autumn mornings, but they will wilt at noon. You’ll want to gather these mushrooms nice and early, so you use them to cook up new food recipes or utilise them in crafting new items. Who knew these tiny fungi could be so versatile?
As the nights grow chilly, there are always some ways to stay warm.
But it’s not just the weather! With this update, I’ve added some new items and quality-of-life changes that will make gameplay a lot more breezy!
John now sells the handy Hand Trolley, capable of moving full containers! No need to empty containers before relocating them - convenience at its finest. In addition, building licence level 3 now gives access to the crafting recipe for the Advanced Crafting Tables. These fancy new tables can pull crafting resources from nearby chests, allowing players to craft up a storm.
Oh, and Franklyn now offers a new contraption that will make sorting items from your inventory and into containers much easier. You might need to give him a shiny disc to make him learn it, but I’ll leave that as a surprise for you to discover!
If you're looking to lighten your workload, consider investing in a Hand Trolley.
Another big change I’m excited about is the Wish Fountain. This new deed is available from the beginning of the game, so you can speak to Fletch if you want to build one on your island.
The Wish Fountain can be used to make “wishes” that change how your Dinkum island behaves. These wishes last forever, but you can only have one wish in effect at a time.
For example, you can wish for your island to be peaceful, which makes animals only attack you if you attack them. You could also wish to make your island more dangerous, but this will make animals drop twice as much loot. There are a few more wishes, but I’ll let you discover them for yourself.
What will you wish for?
This is just a taste of some of the new content that’s available to you with the new update. There is a new seasonal event that appears in Autumn if you have a Band Stand on your island. There is also a new stamina system, new fish, bugs, crops, clothing, and crafting recipes to discover.

- Autumn is now much more colourful! - There is a new seasonal event - Sky Fest. Improvements and Changes:
- The wandering hunter will now only visit after 3:00 pm on Saturdays, unless certain wishes are in effect. - Aggressive animals will no longer spawn right in front of the mine entrance. - Dresses now have physics and should sit nicer on the character. - Dresses can now be placed in the pants slot and worn like skirts. - Bug and Fish books now require the museum to be 50% completed. - Food items cooked at cooking tables are now worth the value of their ingredients. - Improved performance of lights and lamps. - Improved performance of some placeable objects. - Tooltips should stay on screen. - Corrected Defense and Hunting buff amounts. - Villagers and animals can now walk under pergolas. (Pergolas placed before this fix will need to be picked up and placed again). - Crops that sprout out to other squares are more likely to do so multiple times. - Crop seeds now show how many days they require as well as the season. - You can now place items on top of fish tanks. - Machine Manual now shows compatibility with windmills and solar panels. - Using a tape measure on an object that has an effect at range such as tanks, silos, and windmills will display its range. - Villagers are more likely to give better rewards if you are good friends with them. - Flying Vehicles can now get higher. - NPCs won’t ask for clothing in the first month of gameplay, and won’t ask for furniture in the first two months of gameplay. - Keyboard players can now walk by holding shift. - You can now pick up and place the old broken fences found in the first layer of the mines. - Mowers can now raise and lower the blade, similar to how tractor attachments work. - Increased the size of the gacha machine’s loot table. - Dropped Dinks now have their own cute lil’ bag with a Dink sign. - Added a prevention method for falling through the world when terraforming on a tile a player is standing on. - Pet Diggos now react to whistling. - Minor balance changes.
