Hi everyone, We are very excited to announce that Dinosaurs A Prehistoric Adventure 2 has been fully released on steam
Dinosaurs A Prehistoric Adventure 2 is built upon Dinosaurs A Prehistoric Adventure and further expand its predecessor with 30 playable dinosaurs, numerous unlockable skins, customizable RPG elements, and a variety of environments for players to explore.
To celebrate this launch, we have updated Dinosaurs A Prehistoric Adventure to Version 2.0.0.1. This version brings numerous improvements to further enhance performance and gameplay experience.
As usual we will only highlight the major elements so let's get started:
Engine updated, from unity 5.4 to 2017.3. Updating the engine brings better overall stability during development and to the build.
Upgraded to 64 bit. We have decided to upgrade the game to 64 bit to improve stability. However, if you are running a 32 bit machine, you can revert to the 32 bit version of the game which is available in the legacy 32 bit branch.
Auto attack implemented. Players can now perform auto attack by simply left clicking on an enemy unit.
Remove hunger and thirst depletion rate. Food and water sources will now solely be used to replenish health points.
Added objectives UI that would help guide players during gameplay.
Optimized AI detection method.
Additional texture compression and model optimization to reduce memory usage.
New reset button on the main menu to better prevent accidental reset.
That’s currently it for this update. We hope that you will have a great time with the game and if you're interested about the sequel, you can visit the link here to find out more. Thank you for your support.

Ontogeny and Heavy WIPs
Hi everyone,
Wanted to show you guys an exciting new feature we’ve been working on for the next game, ontogeny. Based on the feedback received from DaPA, one of the things requested is a leveling system or progression system for the dinosaurs. We decided to take the extra mile with this and instead make the dinosaurs grow when they reached a certain level.
There are only two dinosaurs that can grow, Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops, and players will be able to play them in the main campaign mode where the objective is to grow and survive. Currently only the Tyrannosaurus is finished and the triceratops is still in the works.
Adult Tyrannosaurus modeled by Siaka Juvenile and sub-Adult Tyrannosaurus modeled by myself
Heavy WIPs
So, I realized that it always takes us a really long time to post an update and that’s because some of the stuff is in a really REALLY heavy WIP. So I decided to show you some of these heavy WIPs so that you could get a regular update. Warning, some of these will probably not make any sense, Here they are!
Sarcosuchus - New Skin
Yup, this guy will be in the game and playable! Currently painting it in Substance painter. Since the shift to third person view, some of the details for the dinosaurs would need to be redefined to make them look better and much sharper. For Sarco, I wanted to take the extra mile and detail the scales by hand. It will however take a very long time, and I’m currently doing this in between coding sessions (mostly to avoid frustration) so I can’t really promise that this skin will be included in the first early access build. In the meantime, enjoy this picture of a Sarcosaurus swimming instead.
Skill Tree
The main event! What good is a leveling system if you don’t have skills that could be assigned and make the dinosaurs you play be more badass overtime! A bit of a disclaimer though, the skill tree isn’t actually a tree since it doesn’t act (or look) like a tree, but rather a selection of skills to improve the general stats. Yeah, I know, but calling it a "Selection of Skills" is too much of a mouthful, so until then, skill tree it is!
That’s currently it for now, let me know if you’d like to see more of these heavy WIPs, it’s easier to post because I don’t have to be too formal about the announcement.
More updates coming soon!
Also, I’ll be posting new info here until I can make a solid landing page. Once it’s done, I’ll let you know.
Expanded Version – Delayed
Hi everyone,
Thank you all so much for playing the game and for giving feedback. We’ve received lots of interesting ideas and also criticism that really help us gain insight to what works, and what’s not. From the feedback received, it is clear to us that the core concept of the game and a lot of elements needed to be improved and reworked in order to move forward and meet expectations.
Because of this, we feel that it is best for the expanded version to be delayed.
To give some insight to our progress, we have been reworking some of the core elements and we’re happy to announce that we have succeeded in making a decent prototype. It is still very basic, with only the core mechanics applied, but we’re confident that it’s a solid foundation to build from. We will definitely keep you updated once we have more to show.
Thank you so much for your understanding.
Patch 1.1.1.2
Added:
Ground highlighter: Will highlight ground that is clicked.
Fixed:
Stop distance: Player dinosaur can now move even when clicking on the ground near it.
Zoom in: Will be able to zoom in further.
Jump: Will not damage enemies, only stagger.
Note: let me know what you think!
A Free Game and a Sequel
Hi everyone,
As you’ve noticed we’ve released Dinosaurs A Prehistoric Adventure for free.
The reason for this is because we think that this is the best way for us to get great feedback and garner views. We realized that a demo will not justify what we are trying to accomplish. Because of this we have decided to release this game for free before we are committed on releasing a larger more expanded version to early access.
This expanded version will later be released as a new and separate game that act as a sequel to Dinosaurs A Prehistoric Adventures and will be titled Dinosaurs Prehistoric Adventures.
