Diorama Worlds

Arg! Happy fathers day. Patch 2.0.2

Pirates have landed!

Patch 2.0.1 Pigeons War Effects

Todays patch is brought to you by Pigeon. He funded an effects pack to include! Most of the effects turned out pretty good. The muzzle flashes and flamethrowers are my favorite.

Thanks Pigeon!

Patch 2.0 Release, Comic Builder Alpha, More Characters, Poly Samurai, and a few effects!

I will be posting a few updates on the discussion forums with more details on the Comic Builder Alpha over the next week.

I will be transitioning out of Early Access this week. Every feature that was originally intended, is working exactly as I intended or better. From here I will be adding content when I can but there will be no new features for the Diorama Builder portion of the app. My next projects are going to be built with Diorama Worlds as a level/scene editor.

Also with this patch there are more characters added and you will find some Samurai in the polygon fantasy package!

Additionally I have a small demo of particle effects that I hope to start increasing the amount of. I plan to keep this simple however. Particles will just loop and give the scene a little style. (Also take a look at the High Quality Interiors. Quite a few torches are now on fire....)

Stay tuned for more updates!

Patch 1.9, Chat Bubbles, Custom Posing and Broken scenes.....

The joys of early access are about to show themselves. Every scene prior to this patch won't load in the new posing system. But its worth it! If you have any scenes you want to take a look at one more time, do so before you update. I have taken some precautions to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Chat bubbles are in the polygon fantasy folder (Ill move it next patch when I add more then one option for them). There is only one for now. Just drop it and type. If you want to change the text, pick it up, drop it and type again.

Also there are a bunch of new models in fantasy-characters and modern-low poly town.

2.0 Will also transition to full release. There are a few bugs I am going to try and fix but for the most part everything is running stable. Let me know if you find anything that needs to be fixed.

Also be sure to check out my next project, which will be built with diorama worlds, but viewable on any device. Mixed Reality Comics!

Future of Diorama Worlds!

Todays update is focused on the current state and the future. Diorama Worlds was listed as early access simply because I wanted to add more content to really make it feel worth the price tag. Currently every feature works as originally intended except multiplayer sandbox play. And only a few bugs have popped up that need to be fixed. I have decided to put the sandbox play on hold while I work on a secondary project, but will be revisiting this if the community grows enough to justify it.

Additionally, I will be slowing down on the content updates since the project is not generating steady revenue, but I do feel this project has been a huge success and still has plenty of room to grow! I will continue to add content with any revenue the experience generates while I work on my next project. I have high hopes for the summer sale, there are currently over 550 people who have DW on their wishlist! And I am planning a big discount. (For 8 bucks is it worth the wait? =P)

This project will never be done, and there is always going to be more to add to it. I will continue to follow the community and address all feedback. Also I got a little carried away with version numbers. I should have done 1.0.1 instead of jumping straight to 1.1.

Patch 1.0.9 will be released by the end of May and will contain the following:
Trains, Space, and Indoors added to the low poly town packs.
Fixes to the missing textures on the low poly town vehicles.

Patch 1.1 will be released in June and contain the low poly fantasy set with the same style as the low poly town and appocolypse. Outdoors, characters, temples and dungeons are all planned for this pack.

I just want to take a minute to plug Synty Studios. They are the suppliers of all the low poly assets that have been added and they work amazing. There are a few packs they have that will be added in still, but after those I will likely be focusing on more content for the HQ Fantasy sets. After that I plan to start getting more space scene content. (Space content is typically more expensive tho)

The goal was 3-6 months in early access to add in content and polish, then transition into full release. I am on track for getting a good amount of content and am sure I can still hit that deadline for the remaining bugs and polish that it needs. Stay tuned for more information on my next project, Built with Diorama World!

Patch 1.8 Low Poly Town Upgrade

Added a ton of models to Modern -> Low Poly Town. Enjoy =P

Patch 1.7 Lighting and Shadows

Good news, got particles figured out, shadows figured out. And a much better lighting solution. Bad news, it breaks pretty much every scene with custom lighting. Pigeon has some work to do to relight his scenes.

Oh also grid mode has been an issue, so now you will visually see the gird. It should be more intuitive with this update. Toggle it on and off while in select mode with the left X (rift), down(vive)

Patch 1.6 Characters

Todays patch bring a good selection of fantasy characters into play. In addition our favorite zombies have a new set with human animations for some extra posing options.

Ive also made some improvements to load times and textures. And animated characters will no longer take off running from time to time.

Extra Patch brought to you by Pigeon

One of our generous users (Pigeon) donated an extra 10 bucks at my site and asked for some soldiers added. So small patch today will get you access to Pigeon's War in the modern category.

Thanks Pigeon!

Patch 1.5 Mazes, Rocks and Planets

This weeks patch features HDR textures for the space rocks, plus 45 new rocks with a burning lava look to them. A ton of planets were added but currently there is no way to change the light source that illuminates them. They still look great!

Also the first mini game is added in this version. A top down 3d dungeon maze featuring 100 floors with 100 rows and a 100 columns of rooms. Its not much right now, but is the ground work for a procedural dungeon system I'm working on for my next project! (PS that is a million rooms, I have not solved it yet. But I can tell you the correct path is only 100 rooms and there are 10,000 wrong ways to go.)
