Our Discord server was compromised yesterday. Someone decided to rain on our parade of a Release Day and cause some chaos. A developer of ours received a message from someone claiming to have seen our recent interview with Epic Games on YouTube. They stated they were an indie developer like us and requested that we look at his game for feedback. The person said his game was already on itch.io, a legitimate indie game platform like Steam.
Being the kind and helpful person that he is, The dev obliged and tried the person's game. The problem was,* it wasn't a game.* The download was malware that took control of Manny's computer and hijacked his Discord session and who knows what else. He immediately changed the credentials on the dev's account. Since this dev was the server admin, the hacker had the keys to the kingdom and kicked and banned all the Developers and Mods who could stop him.
He then posted to this discord malicious links and continued to spread malware to individuals. If you clicked a link from the compromised account or Discord from a post after our release announcement yesterday then your machine could have been compromised. We know of several other individuals who were also targeted, some resulting in IP bans from Discord.
We were the victim of a very targeted spear phishing attack and has since reformatted the compromised computer and reset all passwords to all accounts. Thankfully none of our personal information on the computer was compromised such as banking accounts. None the less it was a huge hassle to recover.
Recovery
Thankfully he was also able to recover the Discord account, we then unbanned the devs and mods, and deleted all the malicious messages. We are in the process of restoring roles and will then discuss internally how we can prevent such malicious behavior again.
So on one hand as we are now public and free to play we have more eyes on our work which we're very grateful for that obviously is accompanied with some risk. Thank you everyone for your patience!
Discord Hacked
Sadly someone had to stomp on our general release and has hacked our Discord. We've removed it from our steam page for the time being. Stayed tuned until we have more information. DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS
Dirge is now Officially Released!
After four years of relentless development, we proudly present Dirge, a gripping 4v1 asymmetric horror game set in the haunting world of the 1950s. Unlike traditional horror titles, Dirge empowers you and up to four friends to confront paranormal monsters head-on, with one player taking on the role of the hunter. As we bid farewell to Early Access, the base game is now free for all, with optional monster DLC available to support future development. Immerse yourself in a noir-esque nightmare where survival demands not just hiding, but standing your ground against the unknown. Welcome to the next chapter of Dirge—where darkness meets defiance.
F2P & DLC Plan
In our relentless pursuit of sharing the chilling world of Dirge with as many courageous souls as possible, we're thrilled to announce a bold move. Dirge is now free for all, allowing you to step into the realm of paranormal investigations without any barriers. The base game, featuring the enigmatic Wraith Monster, is yours to experience with no strings attached.
What Changes?
Gone are the days of a single $10 purchase. Embracing a free-to-play model, we invite you to delve into the heart of Dirge without any upfront commitment. The shadows hold no secrets for those who dare to venture.
Monsters Unleashed - DLC Edition:
To support ongoing development, we've separated the monstrous entities into individual DLCs. The Wraith Monster, a cornerstone of Dirge's haunting narrative, remains free with the base game. For those seeking additional challenges and horrors, optional monster DLCs are available, allowing you to tailor your experience and support the continued evolution of Dirge.
Early Access players and DLC:
To our dedicated Early Access supporters who ventured into the shadows with us, your steadfast commitment has been the bedrock of Dirge's evolution. The Revenant DLC and Wendigo DLC, both were integral parts of the game when you first believed in our vision. If you acquired Dirge during Early Access, join our Discord (see link on Steam) to provide proof of your game acquisition, and we'll unlock these for you as you had them. Your support has been the heartbeat of Dirge, and as we transition, we want to ensure your journey continues with the companions that accompanied you from the start. Thank you for being the pioneers, the investigators, and the guiding lights in our chilling narrative.
EA Journey
When we entered Early Access it was to get active players to test and provide feedback for our development, and our community delivered. From simple players to video content creators, our Early Access community played thousands of hours of Dirge and provided constant and crucial feedback and direction for our efforts. Over the course of the last 2 years in Early Access we have added in two full multiplayer maps, two complete new monsters, four new playable characters, half a dozen new tasks to complete, new minion navigation and AI support, a fully functional AI monster for coop and single players, complete revamp of our soundscapes, and countless quality of life improvements and bug fixes. Our small team wants to highlight without any shadow of doubt how instrumental the Early Access period was to the current state of Dirge, and how important all of YOU our Early Access supporters are to the development team here at Non Nobis Games.
Future Plans
We intend to continue supporting the refinement of bugs and errors that might be discovered by a wider audience of players to ensure Dirge remains a stable and enjoyable play experience. The development of further content will depend heavily on the popularity and support Dirge receives after release. Regardless, the developers here at Non Nobis Games plan on honing our game development skills with smaller projects, some related to Dirge and some not. While we think Dirge is a feature complete game which can provide countless hours of fun online and alone, additional maps, characters, monsters, and more are always possible but not currently planned.
Approved for Free to Play with Optional DLC!

Dirge, our passion project nurtured over four long years by our small but mighty team of three, is a testament to our commitment to delivering a truly immersive 4v1 asymmetric multiplayer experience. We've poured our hearts and souls into crafting a game that will leave you breathless, offering you the chance to play as the Wraith, Wendigo, or Revenant.

Exit from Early Access - Changing Business Model
We here at Non-Nobis Games (all three of us) announce a strategic shift in our business model for Dirge. Our loved horror game, which has garnered a dedicated player base during Early Access, will transition from a paid model to a Free-to-Paid structure, accompanied by enticing downloadable content (DLC) options.
Key Changes:
Free-to-Paid Model: Starting Tentative Date February 1, Dirge will be available for free, providing players with access to the spine-chilling world of 4 investigators facing off against the terrifying Wraith.
DLC Monetization: While the base game will remain free, players will have the option to enhance their gaming experience with additional monsters (currently Revenant & Wendigo) through downloadable content. The first monster, the Wraith, will be available for free, with subsequent monsters offered as optional DLC.
Exclusive Offer for Early Access Supporters: Players who purchased Dirge during Early Access will be rewarded for their support. By submitting proof of purchase on the official Non-Nobis Games Discord channel, they will receive all DLCs for free, ensuring that their commitment to the game is recognized and appreciated.
Please note that the transition is subject to Valve's approval, and we tentatively estimate this to occur around February 1. However, this date is not guaranteed.

Picture this: you, alone in the eerie corridors of Hillview Manor, frantically completing tasks while the AI Wraith lurks in the shadows. It's like having a ghostly companion, always there to keep you on your toes. Forget about a cozy single-player experience; this is a solo nightmare expedition!
The AI Wraith is no slouch—it'll randomly spawn, set traps, and if you dare to claim its bones, well, get ready for a cat-and-mouse game where you're the mouse. Immune to physical damage and with the added bonus of depleting your battery, this Wraith means business. Running is your only escape until it exhausts its spectral energy.
But hold onto your sanity, Dirgelings, because the real terror is just beginning. Once all the bones are snug in the sarcophagus, the Wraith awakens in a supercharged state. It's showdown time! Now vulnerable to physical damage, defeat the Wraith in an epic battle to claim victory.
