Every day is a party day in the dancing clubs of Disco Sim. and Today we brought to you something awaited by all- the events! 🤩 Without further ado, let’s see what the devs prepared and what’s still in progress! 😍
First of all, we’d like to show you something we’re currently working on- the Club’s weekly schedule where you’ll be able to add and manage all the events 📝 such as concerts, DJ parties and so on. They can be both, manually added by a player or ordered by the game itself!
The schedule has another function and that is to add the thematic days! 🕺 Be it a New Year’s Eve party which is given to you by the system or something like the beer day which you could set up yourself, use them wisely to ramp up your club’s earnings! 💰
Remember though, when choosing the events 🎉 you’ll have to meet the requirements. Every event possible to choose will provide you with information about both what you need to have it take place in your club and what profits it gives you.
We are still working on the idea of thematic days 🤔 because we want each of them to have their own unique characteristic bonuses and that brings us to our question, dear players!
What thematic days would you like to be able to organize in your clubs?
We can’t wait to hear your ideas! Unfortunately, this brings us to an end of this devlog. If you haven’t already, don’t forget to add our game to your wishlist 👇 and join our discord community 👇 to have an impact on the game’s content.
Hope you’re having a great day and will have an even better evening. Here comes the brand new devlog 📝 straight from the dancefloors of the Disco Simulator. Today we brought to you some changes we’ve introduced to the game. 😀
First of all, the new menu. 💼We’ve made some improvements to the layout as well as added a few options that’ll make the interactions more user friendly, as well as made it fully operational.
Secondly, we’ve added a new loading screen to make the transitions smooth like butter. 💃
Last but not least, there are some new UI’s introduced to the gameplay itself. We wonder if you’ll be able to spot all the novelties we’ve added! 😏
The most visible ones are the appearance of the tutorial which covers every aspect of the game and can be accessed from the in-game. 😲
Also, now there are new panels that’ll help you with all the activities in your club: the building, event and NPC panels. 🤩
There are also some hints that’ll appear to help you throughout your gameplay! 😍
As always, we greatly appreciate your comments and suggestions about both the gameplay and what content you would like to have in it. Make sure to join our discord community 👇 to have an easy contact with the developers and add the game to your wishlist 👇 not to miss on any further information!
Welcome to the newest devlog which features 2️⃣ major changes to the game.
Are you a fan of alcohol free dancing parties 🕺💃? Perhaps you enjoy more than a few shots 🥃to elevate your dancing moves to the next level? It doesn’t matter if you prefer a more casual, small club or a big, exclusive place 💎 to spend your Friday night in. Create the club you’ve always dreamt of choosing both a suitable manager and club localization.
Starting with the manager, the cornerstone of your club. Each of those skilled individuals has a different set of traits making every playthrough a truly unique experience. The right manager can make refurnishing your club less of a struggle, help you make the most 💰 💰 💰 out of every party you throw, or even help you earn more off the bar. 💸
We have provided for several different specializations of club managers to help you achieve certain goals! Among them are :
Optimization of costs incurred by your club 💲
Good contacts with furniture companies, allowing you to save a little on the cost of your club’s decoration 🎀
Efficient management of the club, which makes the bartenders give out the ordered drinks faster 🍷
Good contacts with well-known Djs, allowing you to rock the best parties! 💃
These are just some of the strengths of Managers available for employment in our game Disco Simulator ✨ 🤯
As much as in real life, choosing the correct location for your club is the game changer. Choose wisely 🦉 because the location dictates what kind of people are more likely to visit your business 🚪🚶. Keep it in mind while creating your business plan and pick the right manager to complement your strategy with their traits.
Strategize your approach and make the most out of every single club using their unique characteristics to your advantage.
We pay utmost attention to your expectations and suggestions while producing our games so make sure to let us know what features and upgrades would you like to see in the final products in the comments 👇. Light up the night with you soon! The Disco Simulator Team
Cashflow💲Management📄and ✨Aesthetic✨
Hello future Disco Club Owners!🕺
Today we have for you a fresh batch of news about the ongoing development of the game Disco Simulator!
But first, we have a video for you, showcasing all the great things we are going to be talking about!🎬
So, let’s go over what you just saw👀
Night summary📱
That’s right, after every night, a window is going to pop up, showing you the summary of the night you just had.
It’s going to show you how many disco goers attend your club, the profit made from the night and how it affected the reputation of your establishment.
Know your people🏌️♀️
To help you manage the craziness of the night, you will be able to bring up a person's statistics. It will show you their current status, how much time and money did they spend and also their unique Perk. Some of your client’s don’t dance or don’t drink, so keep that in mind while serving them!😉
Aesthetic changes🪑🔴
To help make it all nice, you will be able to change the color of the furniture so everything matches just how you want it to🤗
We also worked on neons and all sorts of lighting to help make your place pop!🎆
Click and drag🖱
Being able to reorganize and put thing at the place you want them to is a crucial part of the game. There’s obviously an option to sell an item as well.
At daytime when things are quiet and you’re preparing for the wild night you will also be able to do that to your workers💁♂️
It’s starting to get late and we still have to prepare for our upcoming friday night, so that will be all for today’s update!💃
Make sure to let us know what you think about the news on our Discord here!
But we all know we are here for the one that comes after...
New Years!🎆 Remember (if you manage) this one as best as you can!🥂 Because we hope to bring an experience as close as possible to the real thing.
We hope to have you on this journey through upcoming news about the development of the game!😎
All the best move from The Disco Simulator Team
Devlog#3 | In-game object models
🍸 Hello Clubbers! 🍸
You're probably curious about what's new in our Disco Simulator game ;) In a moment we will describe and show what we have been working on for the last month! Sit back, grab something good to drink and let's get started! 🍕
Today we would like to devote more attention to our work of modeling objects for your use in our game 🪑
Each club differs in a great many details that give it a unique atmosphere. The more details that are refined and unique, the more willing customers are to return to us 🔄
Therefore, we have spent a lot of time to properly model all sorts of facilities available to you in our Disco Simulator game! We are preparing a lot of furniture for you, in different colors, sizes and styles so that you can customize it according to your needs and your vision of your own club 💃
We start with ordinary, everyday and undistinguished furniture like armchairs or chairs - suitable for combining with extravagant accessories or colorful walls - but we also plan to have amazing and unique objects in neon moods❗❗
By doing so, we hope to give you more opportunities to express yourselves in our game 🤩
Additional changes and news 🆕
🎢 Queuing system - from now on it is possible to manually set individual items of our customer queues
👷 The work of our employees can be accelerated
💭 Customer AI - we have made some improvements in customer decision making
From the news, we also implemented development points and the mechanics of gaining reputation in the game. But about that, we will tell you in the next devlog ⏭️
Question for the attentive: What is your favorite song/singer? 🎤
Traditionally, we also invite you to our Discord, where you can meet players from all over the world, interested in a similar theme of games 👇
How are you doing? We hope you are in a "dancing" mood ;) We managed to finish the work we assumed, on one of the most important mechanics occurring in the game - Behavior of customers in your clubs 🚶
Customers can be found in various ways - those dancing, chilling and arguing at the bar. Our job is to replicate their behavior and way of being as best as possible, to do give you as much fun and a solid dose of realism as possible.
Currently we have managed to program behaviors such as: 💃 Dancing 🚽 Going to the toilet 💺 Resting 🍹 Ordering drinks
From now on, each of the NPCs in our club will live a life of their own!
In addition, in order to improve the functioning of our bartenders, security guards at the entrance and other places where queues of customers tend to form, we came up with a queuing system for our guests! From now on, every NPC will politely wait for their turn to get a drink! 🍸
Surely you noticed that recently there have not been many publications about our game Disco Simulator - It was caused by the change of the team creating the game 🆕
We are full of positive energy and ready to start a new adventure with the production of our game! Therefore, we will mark devlog as #1
New team - it's a completely new beginning ❗
In this devlog we want to introduce you to a very large part of the game, which is the system of building and personalizing our club 🍸
While working on it, we wanted to give you as many opportunities as possible to express yourself and create interiors that will only be limited by your imagination 💭 In addition to building walls, half-walls and floors, which you can freely repaint, you will also have a wide selection of various types of furniture - which will give your club a unique atmosphere.
We also decided to allow you to assign specific roles to individual sectors, thanks to which your guests will have no problem finding what they need most, including - a dance floor 🕺
You can take a look at the mechanics described above in the video below:
As you can see, our new team is moving forward by storm and will soon be sharing the next steps in developing our Disco Simulator game with you! 🤜🤛
Share with us your opinion and suggestions regarding the mechanics presented by us in the comments or on our Discord, to which we cordially invite you 👇
and remember to add our game to the Steam Wishlist so you don't miss any new information about our game!
It’s us again! As per our promise, we are happy to deliver the next update regarding Disco Simulator’s progress. Improved UI, day-night cycle, enhanced (yet simplified) building system, slightly more intelligent AI, and new in-game mechanics.
Sooo, what has changed?
(Before)
(After)
Not only have we experienced an epiphany regarding the leading user interface theme (It's purplerer!), but we also finally designed some of the key windows in the game - settings, save, furniture and construction shops, time and budget indicators, and a juicy looking loading screen.
(Settings screen - will later be populated with more settings to customize your game experience)
(Save screen - and coming with it, a save system, so you can track your progress on levels without the fear of a sudden crash)
(Loading screen - it's cool and animated, but we're doing our best to show it for as little as possible)
Also, we've introduced more freedom in the creation of your dream club. The last building system allowed the player to create rooms by dragging his mouse over a certain area, which was then automatically converted into rooms with pre-designed walls and floors. The player was able to modify said room either by painting or removing walls, changing the floor, or manually placing other walls within the room. This made the whole system confusing to use, and it often lagged the game due to the number of calculations required to process the recalculation of the club (sounds complicated? Yeah, it was).
Soooo, we simplified it a lot!
A club is still created from 1x1 m tiles. But, instead of the whole “room/area” thingy that was automatically filling in the space for the player - they are now in charge of manually setting up the rooms. Whether you want to place a boring bathroom or a fancy bar with checkered walls and neon floors, you can now do so! (And the game won’t be questioning your taste either!)
(creating floor tiles - still 1x1m)
(new tool - ability to create walls)
Additionally, building upon the idea of freedom, you can now place your own roof tiles - which creates a new emergent mechanic - skylight - your clients will now be able to dance under an open roof (be wary of the rain though).
Although the rain and other weather effects are still a work in progress, they will certainly become an essential part of our new day-night cycle. For now, it features sun and moonlight, with changing colour near the dusk and dawn to make it feel more real. The player is also able to change the game speed if he wishes to! (Day)
(Sunset)
(Night - Clients now come in at the start of the night, and leave automatically near the end)
Optimizations - the things you can't see: Okay, we have to do a little tech-talk, so brace yourself. Unity is a complex engine that often needs a developer's know-how, and creating a game of this scope requires many refactorings to both allow for all the features you plan, and still not lower the FPS too much. As stated in the building system section, the game started to feel a bit laggy when players were creating their clubs - and we couldn't leave it that way. The game core was redesigned to allow for hybrid-rendering and multi-threaded computing (which essentially means that many operations are processed in parallel, maximizing your processor's capabilities). This change required even more changes (and so on) - a new physics system, AI navigation system, and object management systems were required to create what you can see in the screenshots above. You may ask "Was all this change necessary?" - Yes, yes it was. It allowed us to create even more amazing features, prototype them more quickly, and increase the game FPS from about 60-70 to 280-300.
What will come?
Our next devlog will focus mainly on the AI side of workers and clients as well as the whole human resources tab in the game so be ready for even more under the hood changes and tech-talks. We will also introduce more furniture, lights, special effects, speakers to fill your club and give it the proper life it deserves.
It will also add additional views – to gauge whether your space is cozy and comfortable for the visitors, or rather reminisces them of an unkept basement. (Something like this)
And the last great change that will be coming next devlog - we will be bringing this bad boy back into the game! (For those of you who don't know him, this is an in-game DJ console that will let you play your own songs at the party)
And for now, that's all!
We're working hard to bring you the demo of Disco Simulator as soon as possible so stay very tuned! If you have any questions regarding the development process (other than the release date) we will be very happy to answer them all! Once again, we would like to invite you to the Disco Simulator discord channel, where hopefully we will post different changes throughout the month. Once again, have a great 2022!!!
