Bug fixes

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update to let you know the game has now been patched fixing most of the bugs.

Some people had an issue with their cursor getting stuck while in the suitcase view, this was addressed a day or so after the game's launch. If you are running into this please make sure you have the latest version and there is no update pending for the game.

There was also an issue with things looking like they were stuttering while moving when running on a high end PC. Note that this wasn't due to low framerate, but rather something out of sync with the way things were setup in the Unity game engine. This has just recently been addressed and should be good to go.

If you run into anything else please let me know.

Thanks!
Jason

Motion sickness tip

Hey everyone,

If you play the game and start to feel motion sick please try going into the Settings menu and adjust the Field of View to a larger value and see if that helps. Currently it goes up to 90.

Hope that helps,
Jason

Demo coming this month - here's how to get access

Happy new year everyone! Thanks to those who have followed and wishlisted Discolored so far, your support is really appreciated!

Towards the end of January I will be sending out a demo for Discolored and I'd like to share it with you. I'd love to show you how the game is coming along and also get any feedback you might have about the experience.

The demo will be about 30% of the full game and this demo will only be available to people who sign up through the Discolored website.

Those who sign up will receive a key towards the end of January. And as a 'thank you' for being a tester, users will also have the option to have their name in the game's credits as a tester when filling out the feedback form. I'll also be sending out occasional updates on the development of the game, but I promise not to get spammy. :)

Thanks again!
Jason

Introducing Discolored

Hi everyone, I'm excited to announce Discolored - an upcoming puzzle-adventure game I've been working on for the past year. Some of you may know I made another game called The Search .

As listed on the Steam page I plan to release Discolored sometime in the 2nd quarter of 2019. If you're wondering if Discolored is a sequel to The Search, it is not, but there are some similarities. Discolored will still feature beautiful atmospheric scenery and a similar "feel" that The Search had. The style for Discolored is very minimal, which is inspired by the painters John Register and Edward Hopper.

Discolored's gameplay will be using FPS controls with real-time 3D graphics, similar to modern adventure games like The Witness and Obduction, not a point-and-click with pre-rendered graphics as The Search was. The puzzles actually have more variety in Discolored compared with The Search! The total gameplay time will probably clock in at around an hour or so.

I will post as much as possible here on how the game's progressing. Alternatively, you can head on over to the game's website to sign up for the newsletter to stay up to date and get exclusive insights.

If you have any questions please drop me a line in the comments section below or anywhere else you can find me on the web.

Like with The Search, Discolored is being developed on my own and in my spare time. I love making these games and I thank you for your support!
