Upcoming Hopper Looting Changes and Defensive Turrets!

Due to recent changes in our team structure (Finally able to get some damn help!) We're able move a few priorities around to accommodate some of the most requested-by-players features while still developing Medic and our other features simultaneously.

These new features include:

1. When a hopper is destroyed, all children (attached items) will no longer be destroyed with it; They will instead become orphans retaining their same location and configuration - Essentially turning them into "dropped" items with no ownership, able to be picked up by anyone.
2. New defensive turrets will be added as craftable and autonomous defensive structures, allowing you to keep fuckheads like Rory off your property while you're away.

You told us what you wanted - We're making it happen!

Medic Profession + Player Cloning Facilities + Mobs + Maintenance

Over 700 copies sold in just the first 4 days alone dude. Wow.
At this rate, we'll be looking at 1,000 players playing at random hours throughout the day by the weekend.

Common knowledge inside the game is that we're working on Medic right now, but common knowledge is not how close we are. Most likely, we'll have a major push enabling the Medic profession (leading up to the Doctor elite profession) perhaps within 24 hours.

How is this possible?

Because of the resources that you guys are putting into the game. Because of your contributions, we're able to pay those overtime rates to keep the machine running at full-speed nearly 24/7.

What all will Medic entail?

Medic is about more than just "being able to heal". As former SWG players will remember, medic was not just a self-healing professions, but allows you to heal other players as well as craft the medical use stimpaks that made a lot of players quite wealthy.

As a medic, you can improve your pharmaceutical-crafting abilities to create better and better healing stimpaks for use on yourself, friends, or customers who buy them to use in the field.

You're always trying to create stims with the lowest medical use requirements as possible, while giving the most health back as they can.

It's all about them mats!

In Divergence, not only can you craft and use stimpaks as consumable items, but also as a medic you can load those stims into a dispersal gun (a healing gun) and basically heal other players by shooting them with it up to a short range. This makes a competent medic an essential tool in any fight, be it again mobs or other players either one.

Once we have Medic in, we're going to spend a little time catching up on bug reports, then immediately on to further advancing our mobs AI state (to prepare them for return to the game) and implementing player cloning facilities and maintenance.

We'll be posting more about this in the near future, so thanks again for all your support and looking forward to seeing you all in-game!

Tonight's fixes and enhancements.

1. Chat bug should be 100% fixed now. If by some chance you still experience it, absolutely let us know ASAP :)
2. We're aware of the permissions bug that cropped up today and its #1 on the list of todays fixes.
3. Malkav is getting a facelift in the next 90 minutes. Expect several square KM of new territory!
4. Killing other players for their shoes is 100% allowed. Killing other players within 100m of the municipal cloner is however not allowed, and if you're caught, a hellish fate awaits your character and account. We have no less than 2 GMs online nearly 24/7 listening, watching, waiting for you to try to grief our beloved players.

Best. Launch. Ever.

It's hard for me to describe what today ended up being like to those who fortunately haven't struggled under a labor of love for so many years of their life, but if ever my partner and I had doubt that what we were choosing to devote our lives to wasn't as relevant as we hoped, today, hundreds of new friends and supporters obliterated those doubts and I go to a rest in my bed (a mattress in the corner of a tiny room) far better then I've known for years; Feeling bad only in that I had to leave our newfound comrades for hours requisite to recharge the human body.

The server, despite the occasional lag spike, somehow took every ounce of punishment we could give it and begged for more. Hundreds of people all running around in the same game world, beginning their own paths toward creation and not even beginning to tax the system to its limits means we've never been more confident in our client and server work to create a game capable of Planetside-level intense combat, and crafting and construction on a level even greater in many ways than Star Wars Galaxies.

And this is just our very first day on Steam Early Access...

Tomorrow (Today) we begin the task of activating all available assets from their standby state and putting them to frantic work with a long list of bugfixes and new game enhancements that, thanks to your contributions, we can now begin to afford.

Full tutorials.
Options menu additions and improvements (turn off the film grain among them)
Fully-fleshing out of melee combat (for when a gunshot to the face is perhaps excessive to get your point across)
Clothing and armor improvements and new items added.
Reskinning and giving Callidus humans and Lokri their own unique appearances.
Fixing our NPCs so creature hunting can once again return to the world of Rook in all it's dangers and intensity.
More synthetic chassis for synthetic players to inhabit.
Vindicator and Verrator weapons and abilities such as stealth, teleport-backstab, and other racial abilities.
Introduction to our three primary factions in the game, and the players ability to align with them.
Numerous bigfixes, and much, much more.

Again, we cannot thank you guys enough for your support and for giving us this chance to show the world what insane features modern MMORPGs should have and don't... Thanks for giving us the change to share with you all the dream we have called "Divergence". We promise, the best is yet to come... ;)
