V.095a - Chapter6+7 / Spell-Levelling System

Dear friends,

We have good news to share! ːsteamhappyːːsteamhappyːːsteamhappyː
After lots of hard work we completed two major tasks at the same time and decided to combine both to a major release before the holiday season:

Version 0.95a


This update finally introduces the new Spell-Levelling System: From now on you gain spell points on levelling up your character to upgrade your favourite spells. Choose wisely, each spell is especially useful for certain adversaries. Next, we improved both movement and combat significantly. We added sprint mode, which allows you to explore the vast environments much easier. Finally, we unlocked the next 2 chapters of the game: Travel to the sea of sand to meet new wonderful characters and explore the mysteries of the great desert. How to play?


If you are an existing player, you may continue from your previous progress if you like. Based on your current player level you will gain spell points which you can attribute freely as if you would have levelled during the previous game. Would like to unlock all chapters of the previous release? Please follow the instructions here: “divchronicles/cfg/autoexec.cfg”. New player? Perfect, just launch the game and you will be ready to go.

What’s next?


For the next milestone we will unlock the shop inside Medari village. You will find gold and artefact shards inside the world which you may use to upgrade your weapons and gear. I guarantee that you will never need real money or loot boxes to unlock anything in Divinia Chronicles :-]. Aside from that, we are working on the final show-down of the game, which will take you tothe smouldering lava pits of Mt. Suvius.

Although 80% of the campaign is already completed, we could not complete the full story as of now. We are sorry for the delay and that we have to push back the deadline again ːsteamsadː We simply do not want to not rush the game release with a half-hearted ending.

V.094c - Localization / Voice-Over System

Hi friends,

Sorry for the long delay, we have been occupied with personal changes such as new work and related relocations. Everything is settled now so we are ready to move ahead! Midway to the next big milestone we released a new update:

Version 0.94c


This update mainly introduces introduces localization and voice-over system. We already include German and French translation with this built with more languages being on the way! In addition we improved the combat, changed the evade system and as by popular request re-worked NPCs such as Celena and Alayna. For the full changelog please have a look here.

How to change the language?


We detect your local Steam language to automatically switch the language in the game. So if you want to play in German or French, just switch your Steam language to those languages and start the game.

What’s next?


For the next milestone we will ship the next 3 story chapters, after which the story will be around 80% complete. The great task aside from that will be to include the gear/upgrade shop and the spell leveling in the game, we are in the mid of programming but those are really tricky things to add.

As some of you already mentioned, we missed our target to finish the by June 2017 ːsteamsadːːsteamsadː You can imagine, this is what every dev is most afraid to announce. It sucks to let players down by not completing stuff on time. On content side we are doing alright, but we need more time for core gameplay features and we do not want to release a half-finished game without them. We are doing our best and will complete the game as soon as we can!

Release date postponed: Upcoming Update

Hi everyone,

I must be honest with you guys it was not easy to make today’s announcement, seeing your own deadline approaching day by day while perfectly knowing you are not going to make it. It’s really a bad feeling I can tell you ːsteamsadːːsteamsadː

Despite all of the teams efforts, we are sad to announce that we cannot complete the game by the 1st of December this year. This comes as we say in German with a “crying eye” and a “laughing eye”: We are disappointed as we have feel like we have let you guys down, not making the deadline we sincerely thought we would. But on the other hand we are glad that we were able to push the game to a new level, knowing we have the possibility to include features which we never thought we could.

Whats next?


The team has been busy working on the next 2 chapters of the game which will take Cyrus and his companions to the mysterious great desert. We don’t want to spoil too much but please rest assured that the next chapters will truly expand the world, adding great new flavors both in terms of scenery and gameplay. By the time we ship the next chapters, the game will be about 70% content complete, so it will be another big step for us towards final release. Aside from content we will continue to add depth to the gameplay including: Spell level-system, un-lockables, in-game store with items, money system and much more.

Next, we have a team of wonderful people working to localize the game and we will start to ship early stage translations with the next update including Spanish, French, German and Mandarin. But not only that, our voice director Indra and her team from the Netherlands started to record voice-overs, meaning Divinia Chronicles will be fully vocalized in English. We will ship the voice-over for the intro already with the next update and I can already tell you this will change the gaming experience drastically.

Again I am sorry to let you guys down on the original release date, but we will be hard working to complete the game as soon as we can. ːsteamhappyːːsteamhappyː

V.094b - Worldmap + refined cutscences

As promised, today we both released the new update v.094b and the DLC for the official Divinia Chronicles soundtrack. This update mainly introduces the interactive worldmap and features refined cutscences, revised dialogues plus the ability to pause the game. For the full changelog please have a look here.

What’s next?


We are now working full swing on the next big update for which we aim to introduce: Diversified combat, voice overs and add more new story chapters. Stay tuned for more information and announcements as we move along. ːsteamhappyːːsteamhappyː

Divinia Chronicles:OST released

Hi guys,

Today we have a small gift for you ːsteamhappyː ːsteamhappyː

1.) Divinia Chronicles:OST


As promised, today we released the original soundtrack of the game. The OST will be free for all existing owners of the game! ːsteamhappyː After today's update you will find the soundtrack in your game folder, which should be under (...SteamApps/common/DiviniaChronicles/DiviniaChronicles_OST). Be sure to copy it into your music library before 29th of July, as after the DLC launch this folder will be automatically removed by Steam.

After the 29th of July the OST will be available as DLC and will be expanded as we complete the game. As we don't believe in micro-transactions, this DLC will be completely optional and does not affect the game-play at all. It will be an option for those who wish to support us ("buy us a coffee") and or want to listen to the full soundtrack outside the game!

2.) What’s next?


As we work towards the next big update, we will add a bunch of new features within the next week. As by popular request, we implemented a fully interactive worldmap which shows both your current position and your current objective.

V.094a, chapter4 and 5 released

Thanks guys for your faith and support in the development of Divinia Chronicles, we wouldn’t be here without you! A big welcome also to all our new players, we are very happy to have you with us ːsteamhappyːːsteamhappyːːsteamhappyː

After many hard working days the team is happy to announce the launch of our biggest Early Access update so far: Version 0.94a

1.) Divinia Chronicles - Update 0.94a


As of today we updated the early access build to v0.94a, which includes chapter 4 and chapter 5 of the game, the second elemental spirit with three new magic spells, free access to big parts of the open-world including the crystal cave dungeon and improved engine/game performance. For the full change list click here.

This update is a major deal for us as now around 40% of the game is completed and players can experience the “real” combat system with multiple elemental spirits and fierce melee/range adversaries for the first time. Ready to play? Here is a short guideline:

Existing players:
You already completed chapter 1-3? Your level and artefact progression will be stored but level progression will be lost (We moved to a new level progression save system). However, we included a cheat in this version so that chapter 1-4 will be unlocked by default. So if you like, just hop in and continue to play where you left off. For balancing please do note that the player is supposed to have around [1.200 XP] or [Level 5] by the end of chapter 3. You have more? Then you might be a bit overpowered. Want to start over? See below:

New players:
As we have moved to a new level progression save system we unlocked the first 4 chapters for existing players to jump right back into the game. If you want to start completely from scratch, you may just find and delete this file before you launch the game:

Steam\SteamApps\common\DiviniaChronicles\divchronicles\cfg\EA_level_unlock_cheat.cfg

2.) What’s next?


As the update is out we will first focus our efforts to address possible issues and bugs. Once we are convinced the current version is stable we will work on the new trailer and the Divinia Chronicles OST. The soundtrack will launch within the next weeks and will be free for all existing owners of Divinia Chronicles.

V.092e and roadmap to chapter 4 & 5

Thanks guys for your faith and support in the development of Divinia Chronicles, we wouldn’t be here without you!

Let’s get rolling with the good news!


In the past months the team has been working hard on the upcoming chapters of Divinia Chronicles, however we realized that it’s better to ship the next two chapters together as a unit; we believe both chapters are tied well together in terms of storytelling and pacing and thus should be experienced in one / two game sessions.

While we are still a couple of weeks away from unlocking the new chapters, today we want to start off with a major update of first three chapters and lay out road map for the next month:

1.) Version 0.92e update


As of today we updated the early access build to v0.92e, which includes completely re-written dialogues, added treasure chests & collectables, refined environments / animations / combat and balancing. For the full change list click here. The focus of this update is to polish the existing content for new players. For existing players, you are welcome to try out the new version, however we do recommend to hold on for some weeks and start over once the big update is out.

2.) Chapter 4 & 5


We plan to ship the next two chapters within the next weeks. This update will increase the scope of the game dramatically; You may wander around the island freely, befriend the elemental spirit of earth, make use of its destructive magic and face fierce adversaries and powerful creatures from the deep forests and the ancient crystal mine. 3.) New trailer


After the two chapters are released we plan to update the store profile and release a new trailer; we don’t want to spend time on that prior release, so please bear with the old trailer until then.

4.) Divinia Chronicles - OST


Around the same time, we will be also offering the official Divinia Chronicles OST via Steam. It will be designed to be a “buy soundtrack or buy us a coffee” option for everyone who wishes to give us extra support in the upcoming development progress. As we want to reward our early buyers, we want to give the sound track free of charge to all existing users. For this, please stay tuned for further announcements as we need to check out how to actually do this technically ;-)

Christmas sale & Happy new year!

Hi guys,

The end of 2015 is near and its time to be among our loved ones. With the STEAM early access launch in October we have reached a lot, but there is still much work ahead - We cannot wait to continue development in January and ship the next chapter of Divinia Chronicles: Relics of Gan-Ti.

To our awesome followers from around the world: USA, Russia, Italy, UK, Germany, Malaysia, Brazil - no matter where you are from, we love to have you with us ^_^. We will continue working hard to deliver the game you deserve!

As you have noticed we have slashed the price of the game by 33%, this is our small Christmas present to everyone – So if you would like to join the early access community make sure to grab your copy before 4th of January.

Hello folks!

We'd like to thank all of you for the incredible support you're giving us! It's amazing to see so many people interested in our small precious little game!
And yay! We've got featured on the front page of indiedb and reviewed and streamed by many amazing guys!

By the way, today we're releasing our very first monthly update!

This is the changelog for v.0.92c:

CHANGES



  • Tweaked field of view, the character now is blocking the camera less than before
  • Tweaked camera focus perspective
  • On death, players will respawn at the same location
  • Visual reminder once a new chapter is unlocked
  • Balancing: the Holy Sword now does more damage, parrying is more effective
