Update list for DNA

First of all :
I have changed my name of Studio in Fogrim Studio

Here a list of updates for DNA and new integrations :

- A board of Upgrades for the player (minimum 14 skills to unloack and improves)
- Add fog and 3 types of rain (wind and thunder in the futur)
- Total rework of HUD
- Vendor mechanic (sell and buy all types of items)
- Zombies decapitation and dismemberment
- continue level design of the island
- improve the day & night cycle, the apparence of the lights
- more particles and visibility for the items, doors, fired bullets
- changed the keyboard keys in the options
- balance hunger/thirst/sleep/sprint for the hero
- new items (energy drink, beer, paracetamol...)
- better integration of the text files for a translation of the game by the community
- support 4K monitor
and more...

News of the game and opening of my Discord !

It's been almost 1 year since I posted any news on Steam ! And yet I continue day after day to develop DNA <3

I have to admit, in the development of DNA there is at least one thing I do not do well: communicating the progress of the game on Steam ːsteamsaltyː So let's forget about the survivors news and get to the facts:

Some time after the Covid arrived, I decided to create a mobile game (a clicker) in order to familiarize myself a bit with mobile games, I was a bit overworked on elements related to gameplay and the progressive opening of the map in DNA and I figured that releasing this mobile game could also give it some visibility... Well yes, developing a game is good, but it's better if there are players to play it ! :D

My 2 main goals are to release a demo as soon as possible and a teaser !
A demo to get your feedback, will make the game experience much better!
I already said it but my project is ambitious for a solo developer, I need time !

In the meantime here are some additions (finished or in progress) in DNA :
- 2 new grenades (smoke and stun)
- total redesign of the beginning of the game! :o The story doesn't start the same way anymore !
- animation of zombies (sleeping and animation of their death by bullet impact)
- the player will slightly change his appearance (he looked like Steve from Minecraft)
- almost all place names in the city/map have been fixed, as well as their environment (almost 30 levels)
- more "intelligence" improvements of the enemies
- scenery ... and more

Survivor News ! #2 📚

In the previous post, I announced that I wanted to post news more often to keep you informed of DNA's development. So they will be called "Survivor News" which I will try to publish at least once a month!

In these news I won't list all the minor changes and additions in the game, nor bug fixes (the game is not public yet) but only what can be notable and interesting to you in the daily progress of DNA !

Most important information :
- All the colors of the game are now duller and gray.
- I am currently fine-tuning some elements that I would like to integrate in the future first teaser!



Additions:

- New machine pistol (HK MP5)
- The Screen Shake when firing and explosions is different and has been increased
- More blood particles, debris (when shooting into walls)
- The hero is more animated during interactions (door/search/item pickup)
- Indicates on the screen a found piece of map, a new mission, a successful mission.
- Progress on level design (especially housing)
- Additions of English text translations for the future Teaser
- NPCs offer different types of missions, sometimes with rewards

List of reflections and tests :
- Best "personality and visual identification" of the hero.
- Ability to sort the inventory by item type (food/care/weapons/quest items or rare) in addition to the other types of quick sorting already present.
- Human enemies communications + weapon changes
- Style of electro music present in the game
- And finally opening of my Discord in public (for the Francophones at first, no date there too for the moment)

Currently I am also working on:

- a better display (and types) of missions / quests
- player position in the city and legend on the mini-map
