Dodgeball was made in a few months as a way to try and work out how making and releasing a game works. Unfortunately it never did achieve enough players to really become a decent multiplayer experience. The initial builds lacked a lot in quality and gameplay which harmed any potential it had.
Id like to apologise to any customers that purchased this and were unable to get a refund. It was my intention to at least get it out of early access and completed before stopping development, but I believe by that point it was already dead, buried by the masses of other (and mostly better) games on Steam. Thanks to the people that helped me play test it in the early builds, most of you are unfortunately enshrined as bots in the game still.
This game has helped me achieve a greater understanding of the game development process, especially in areas which I hadn't done before. This experience was invaluable to me, and I hope to learn from the mistakes made here, so that anything you ever see from 313 Studios again is actually good.
What happens now?
With the last update now over a year ago, the time has come to remove the game from the store. For anyone that owns the game and wishes to play it, you will still be able to and access it. I might also release the game for free on my website without requiring Steam in case you wish to play it with friends that might not own it.
Thank you for playing
Development Blog 3
Another week, another development blog.
Its a small update this week, lots of behind the scenes stuff going on preparing for the introduction of the dedicated servers. After some player feedback bots are beginning to be improved for the singleplayer mode.
This week also includes a further update on Early Access progress and the plan to come out of it soon. To summarise that point, once the core functionality is in such as the dedicated servers and a basic singleplayer mode expect it to come out although it will be updated with content such as maps and gamemodes for the next few months after that.
Read the full development blog here - http://313-studios.com/dodgeball/dodgeball-devblog-3/
And a reminder that the game will be going on sale shortly after the next update comes out but ill put an announcement out when the sale week is set.

This is the 2nd of a fortnightly update blog that im hoping to continue in the coming weeks. This is a small update post about the progress being made for the next version. This includes dedicated servers and character customisation, with the dedicated server being very helpful for those who have connections stuck being strict NATs.
Give it a read here - http://313-studios.com/dodgeball/dodgeball-devblog-2-2/
Any questions or suggestions can be posted to the Steam forums here.

Early Access Roadmap Updates
Hi everyone,
With the latest update getting the game in a more polished state (with still quite a few rough edges to smooth out of course!) I decided to reflect and see how the game will progress and when it will be defined as being out of Early Access. This is now summarised on a post made on the website, its very text heavy so if you're not a fan of reading just wait until the next development blog which I hope to get a few pictures of work in progress features available.
The timeline for the next update is relatively uncertain but I hope to get it out within a month or so. Ill be doing fortnightly development blogs to keep you up to date on progress.
0.3.1 Hotfix Released!
A new hotfix has been released fixing a few issues with the UI. Voice chat has also been properly implemented and you're also able to mute others in the lobby but you cannot currently do this when in a game however. There are still some issues with it so it won't be perfect, ill polish it up in a later build.
There was a major issue where you couldn't change keys or if you tried to it would mess up and things like your look would be inverted. This has been fixed as far as im aware, but if you still encounter issues you should delete your savefile, in Dodgeball/Saved/Savegames. Let me know if you have any issues still.
There are a few other issues that were noticed but haven't been fixed yet but I'll release another hotfix soon to sort this. If you find any other issues in the mean time let me know on the forums.
Thanks again, and Merry Christmas!
0.3 Update Released!
The 0.3 Alpha update has just gone onto the main branch, there are a few issues with this still that will need fixing up but it mostly works. Ill be releasing a few hotfixes to fix the known issues and any new issues that come up as a result of play testing. Please report any bugs using the forum.
A lot has changed in this version, including a complete UI overhaul, AI players, updated maps and gamemodes and some more stuff listed on the website blogpost -
http://313-studios.com/dodgeball/dodgeball-update-0-3-alpha/
A more seasonal change means that the characters now wear Santa hats. How festive and exciting, I know.
As noted on the update log there some users might still need to port forward their routers to be able to have their game be shown on the server browser. Post on the forums if you need help port forwarding but there are lots of resources out there to help. The price will probably increase slightly along with the increase in content soon also.
Thanks for playing Dodgeball!
Alpha 0.1.1 Hotfix Released
Hi everyone,
Thanks to the testers that found these issues with version 0.1, there will likely be other small improvements coming before 0.2. You can see recent additions before they reach the main branch by switching to the development build. If you have any issues on the main branch please report them in the forum bug reports area.
Changelog -
- Fixed: Rounds not working correctly or as expected
- Changed: Tooltip to reflect changes in the rounds
- Improved: Ball client smoothing, will receive regular tweaks until new system has been finalised
- Improved: All map performance
- Fixed: Crash on end game
- Improved: Made it easier to catch the ball, will require balancing however as its possibly too easy
There will need to be some balancing improvements in the coming weeks especially in regards to catching. As noticed while testing sometimes you might hit another player but it isn't detected which is rather annoying, there isn't a simple fix for this but its my main priority for the next month in the 0.2 release.
Thanks!
Alpha 0.1 Released!

There is a few known issues in Alpha 0.1 that have crept in mainly involving round scoring but these will be fixed sometime this week so keep an eye out for these updates. If you find any other issues please make it known by making a post in the bug reports area. Thanks!
