Captian Fur Butt told us we would meet again yet we never did. It has been many months since then... I have heard rumors of a bar keeper who was small, furry, and yet could speak the common tongue. Could it be?

Storage caches and audio improvements! (Update 1.0.1.0)
Responding to your feedback!
A major issue with the late-game play of Don't Sink was the lack of storage (since we did the storage rebalance). To properly compensate for this (and to improve island building) we've added a new feature to the general store called a Storage Cache. This allows you to deposit/withdraw items from the store. Each store will have a unique cache meaning it isn't globally accessible. You can store 1000 bombs in Cramton and wood/cloth in Tsujima for example.
Audio improvements
One user pointed out to me that the boarding combat was lacking any sound effects. Turns out I completely forgot to program the sound effects for the combat. Topher had gone through all the effort of creating these sounds so I would like to personally apologize for overlooking this. Anyhow it's implemented now and makes poking pirates a lot more satisfying.
New content & features
General stores storage cache
Storage upgrade for storage cache
Minor changes
Sword clashing sound effects for boarding
Ship creaking sound effects for travelling
When purchasing items the shop quantity limit now considers the ships max weight

After 4 months of extremely active development we've reached the big 1.0! It has been a fun and rewarding journey so far. Sometimes it felt as though the game would never be out of early access but here we are. Here's what we've done for the full release.
A new trailer!

Gameplay/General Improvements
The enemy AI can use different ammo types now! You might face a schooner with grapeshot. Once they finish off your crew they'll switch to cannonballs/bombs and sink you. There are also a number of minor improvements such as the defeat tune not playing twice anymore. Little things like that.
The future of Don't Sink
We are working hard to get Don't Sink onto consoles as well as bring you (the Steam community) more features/content. This means more quests, possibly more indepth mechanics, and much more. We have a mod system in the works with a full tool to simplify the process and we would love to make that available in the near future alongside Steam workshop support.
A number of users have experienced various performance issues and so we will likely be introducing a high-performance build (C++ based) in a separate branch to give those users a possibly better experience although previous tests have shown those C++ builds to be pretty unstable which is why we're not certain we want to make it available just yet.

As we approach the big day (our transition out of early access) we have put more and more energy into game content. Three new quests means that the leaderboard percentages have been shifted and that there are new goals to reach for. There are about twenty new pirate crews and two new famous captains you may encounter. Who can forget good ole' Captain Babyhands?
New quest locations
You can find one on Gazpacho, one in Nikra, and the other in Mairyporan. However one of the quests is somewhat of a secret. We challenge you to find and complete it!

We are taking the final steps to reach full release and one of the biggest issues was the ugly main menu left over from the original release of the game. We've recreated pretty much everything at this point. We still have a number of improvements planned for the next update but this one is meant to be stable, and full of beautiful new artwork.
Some of the most notable changes include the new loading screen and main menu. We've got a new leaderboard, quest menu, quick menu, build menu, govern menu... Yeah there's a lot of new stuff in this update. Hop aboard your ship and find out for yourself!
