Akimbo Ranger Unit Reveal
[CLARIFICATION] JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR THIS WAS AN APRIL FOOLS' JOKE
It’s the right time for our first player unit reveal from Task Force North – The Ranger Pointman Class.
Highly trained in the use of worn-out government-issued handguns, the Pointman dominates Close Range space without ever needing melee weapons or even holsters.
Once properly upgraded, he gains access to dual handguns and becomes the Akimbo Ranger, the ultimate pure CQB death dealer in Door Kickers metaverse as well as in a few others. Moreover, the handguns are now equipped with silencers, which obviously makes them completely silent and reliable.
Once a kill is achieved, the Akimbo Ranger automatically assumes specific celebration poses meant to demoralize all enemies within sight, as well as realism purists reading this text.
And what better and tactically sound way to celebrate Victory, than turning your back defiantly to the enemy? We’ll call this one, totally random, the “Over The Shoulder” pose.
Door Kickers 2 - Task Force North
The sequel to the critic and public-acclaimed Door Kickers moves the action to the Middle East and puts the player in control of military Special Operations Teams fighting an elusive Terrorist Network.
Gone are the SWAT shields and tazers, enter the beltfeds and frag grenades. Door Kickers 2 casts the player as leader of the eponymous Task Force, handling units such as the US Rangers and assets like drones to respond to threats, solve crises and hunt the enemy on his own turf.
Once the Tactics Phase starts, things are meatier and deadlier. Extraction and Insertion now become equally critical, but so does telling the bad guys from bystanders and innocents.
They say that great responsibility should actually come with greater power, so players can now take advantage of nighttime, darkness or even good old sneaking to surprise the enemy. New trooper classes, weapons, tools and gadgets open up the tactical options, but one thing does not change: You’ll live and you’ll die by your tactics.
And then you’ll hit Restart and try again.
To help with the challenge, Door Kickers 2 adds Cooperative Multiplayer to the existing mix of Single Player Missions and Campaign. And since you can never have too much content, the game comes with complete modding support, improved mission editor and partial source code access. Yes, we can; it’s our own custom built 3D engine. We’re cool, crazy, or most likely both.
(Special note for our fans and Doggy: Adversarial Multiplayer is still in the books but will make the subject of a separate announcement later this year)
Key points to Door Kickers 2 - Task Force North:
Choose which unit to deploy for each mission and adjust your tactics accordingly Surgical Operations or Overwhelming Firepower - anything is possible.
Use Night Vision, Drone reconnaissance and other realistic gadgets
True freeform tactics taken to the next level: Turn off the lights and hide in the dark. Break windows and jump over ledges.
Go fast to the target or slow and methodical. And if you make a mistake, adapt and overcome.
Face new threats such as suicide bombers, booby traps and RPG launchers.
Use new Tactical Abilities. Group your troopers for easier movement.Establish Rules of Engagement - you name it and … we’ll talk :)
Lots of hush hush stuff we’ll announce along the way. And take that literally ;)
Door Kickers 2 is expected to hit Early Access in Q4 2016 on Win/Mac/Linux, with Full Release on PC and handhelds coming later, aka “when they’re done”. All info and specifications subject to change. For more information keep in touch over at Facebook or Twitter, or drop us an email. We like that.
About Door Kickers: Door Kickers is a game about controlling Special Forces, drawing action plans for them and coordinating them during their tactical intervention. Released in October 2014, it was hailed as “Early Access done right” and currently holds an Overwhelmingly Positive Review Rating on Steam. It has sold over 250.000 units on all platforms combined, offers cross platform save compatibility and was named “Best Tactics Game of 2014” by RockPaperShotgun and “Runner-Up To Strategy Game of The Year 2015” by PocketTactics.
End of Year Three
Hello, friends!
-In the last year, we have seen Door Kickers being released on mobile platforms, with iPads, Android tablets and phablets getting full attention from us. We designed a new interface taking into account touch based interaction, fingers covering the screen and all the issues related to how people hold tablets in their hands. And we’ve made it easy to import your PC saves on to handhelds and back, to continue your strategizing wherever you are.
Since you guys are the greatest fans in the world, we made sure we delivered back – so all our direct customers got the game on Android, as an extra freebie. We also worked with modder extraordinaire Red Panda to get the first mods on to the handhelds, which is not often seen on those platforms.
Based on your feedback, we’ve also translated Door Kickers to popular languages. You can now play the game in English, French, German, Polish, Russian and Spanish, with other languages in-progress over at the Steam Workshop.
Last, but not least, Door Kickers has been picked up by publisher UIEG.DE. Expect the game to hit retail shelves in February.
As 2015 has come to an end, it’s time to talk about the future, and the future is Door Kickers 2 … and more.
DK2 brings the step to 3D: environments, characters – but keeps the clear and easy-to-use top down perspective and hardcore, unforgiving action. It keeps the real life action but moves it to a new and exciting setting. And it changes … everything.
Oh, are we being a little vague? Yes, we are.
On Sunday, January the 17th of 2016 you will know more. In case you wonder, that’s exactly 3 years after we let the first news out on Door Kickers.
So stay tuned, and have a Happy New Year!

Door Kickers updated + iPad version!
Today we celebrate the launch of Door Kickers on iPads, which is a big milestone for us and a project we had in mind for a long time. But since you are reading this announcement you obviously are a PC player and want to know how this affects you. Here are the quick facts:
Door Kickers iPad is the exact same hardcore game you know and love, but has the interface adapted for smaller screens and touch controls
The game supports cross platform saves compatibility. This means that you can game on the PC when at home… or at work, export the save and continue playing on your iPad! No need to start from scratch on the new platform, you will use your elite squad from the PC.
The iPad release brings a new campaign and 2 new weapons. These have also been added to the PC version via patch 1.08.
One of the new weapons is the suppressed Six 12 shotgun, available to both breachers and Stealth troopers. It should open up some interesting tactical options.
Using the iPad you can show your awesome tactical skills to your buddies.
Most importantly, development on the PC continues.
OK, where can i check this iPad version out? https://appsto.re/us/sg8j6.i

Have fun, and let us know which version do you prefer, and why :)
The new “Tablet Mode” option, with the GUI/Controls optimized for touch-screen displays or trackpads:
Door KickerZ revealed!
Update: Since April the 1st is now far in the past, I'm adding this clarification for the late readers: DoorKickerZ doesn't really exist. There are no zombies in Door Kickers. This was all just an April's 1st Joke :)
You guys have constantly asked us about the next update. Now, after years of silent and selfless work, we are ready to reveal it - the Door KickerZ is real!!!
It’s been 2 months since the conclusion of the “Terror at Sea” campaign, and a sinister sub-plot comes to light. The police have failed to locate and disarm a deadly nerve agent dispenser hidden in the belly of the Luigi Balauro, and it has contaminated the waters of Nowhere City Harbor.
Now, the fruits of your bad performance come to life - the deadly Zombies attack!
Note: If you have actually disarmed the device during your play of “Terror at Sea”, you will be unable to run Door KickerZ. It just wouldn’t make any historical sense, would it? We’re sorry for any inconvenience. No refunds.
New Features:
4 new enemy types: Basic Zombie, Covert Zombie, Ghillie Zombie and Chalk Outline Zombie
dynamic zombie generation based on realistic simulation of a made up nerve agent
“Are you mad?” confirmation screen when pressing ESC by accident on the Mission Failed Screen.
Bonus: All Zombie requests will be deleted from the forum
To counter the Zombie threat, your troopers receive access to special gear:
6 new weapons including fan favorite Mac-10 and Armor Piercing Mp9.
Whatever bullshit armor the Juggernauts were wearing.
3 new gear pieces including the often requested Live Chicken Decoy!
Door KickerZ is the official sequel to the critically acclaimed and highly successful SWAT command game Door Kickers (with an s). Coming to Win / Mac / PC in mid 2015.
Official Door Kickers Avatars
While we're quietly hammering at the Handheld version and next update of Door Kickers, we took note that people wanted official Door Kickers avatars!
So, yearn no more, now you can hide your user behind these awesome Door Kicker troopers. Wild tactical skills included.
Here's the full set: http://steamcommunity.com/games/248610/Avatar/List but we know you all really want to look like Operator Orville :)
Winter Update completed! (new campaign, items and more)
Since we suspect you finished three-starring all available maps, here is the concluding part of the Winter update to help you get through the tactical drought:
Features: - New campaign (longest one yet!).
- New scenario type: Robbery in Progress.
- 9 new weapons.
- 1 new enemy type.
- Added 3 new editor brushes (erase background / white / shadow).
- Added 16 new Steam Achievements (entry-level ones).
Fixes: - Replays sometimes getting desynchronized (bug introduced in 1.0.3).
- Saved plan sometimes being deleted.
- Campaign Won screen showing when losing all troopers.
- Troopers sometimes going through doors without triggering any action.
- Crash related to some mods.
- Improvements/tweaking to existing equipment.
- Crash when resizing map to a certain size in editor.
Enjoy the new content!
Don't forget to let us know what you'd like to see in the future from Door Kickers (we promise we have something new and awesome cooking for you!).
What’s most important, we’ve delivered to you and got the game out, and we are currently enjoying a steam user rating of Overwhelmingly Positive. It’s not uncommon to see happy users with 50+ or even 100+ hours of gaming time, and all this confirms we must be doing something right :)
The workshop and modding scene are very active, and the release of the improved mission editor makes creating maps from scratch completely possible.
What’s next for KillHouse Games? We’re obviously not done with Door Kickers and Update 1.06 is almost ready for full release. But even after that, we have new features in mind, new campaigns to write and new threats or tools to throw at you.
Bigger things are also coming. Bringing multiplayer to Door Kickers, porting Door Kickers to other platforms, as you requested, and even moving Door Kickers to other places in the world. Nowhere City is a homely home, but we’re wondering how they call their double taps in, say, Russian? And who knows Mp5s better – the Germans or the Brits?
Those of you that follow our interviews also know we do have some plans for Door Kickers 2, and even another project. Decisions and plans are to me made but you’re probably going to see more than just Door Kickers stuff from KillHouse Games, next year.
So here’s to 2015 and here’s to you – our awesome community. You took us from 3 guys with a fun prototype to a solid team with the best tactical game on the market.
