Bugfix


Online Co-op: Fixed a game-breaking bug which appeared in v1.2.0 (happened when starting a level from network lobby).

Controls


Pressing multiple ability buttons simultaneously now works better.

Player trails are more visible in both local and online co-op.

Full clear score multiplier is no longer displayed when using score display outside score attack.

Score Attack


Leaderboards are found at the Steam achievements section. Total of 6 boards:
- Any difficulty
- Easy, normal and hard
- One life: normal and hard

Multipliers:
Difficulty:
- Easy 0.5x, Normal 1x, Hard 2x

Boss Rush (fast level boss kill):
- Goal time: 30s (some bosses have higher time)
- Killing normal enemies gives 3s (hard:4s) bonus time for boss kill
- In time limit: Boss score 4x
- Above time limit: fades from 3x to 1x (at 2x goal time)

Full clear time bonus:
- Goal time: 20 minutes (hard: 25min)
- In time limit: 5x
- Above time limit: fades from 4x to 1x (at 2x goal time)
- Multiplies total score, calculated when final boss dies

Chapter
- +40% score gains per chapter (+120% in last chapter)


Hardcore:
- Death: score is calculated without the full clear multiplier bonus.
- Full clear: Same scoring as non-hardcore, with separate leaderboards for normal and hard.

Death:
Non-boss enemies don’t give score after dying in a level once.

Timers are stopped:
while in start room (for shopping, leveling up and checking loot)
during dialogue and loading screen

Other changes:
- Vendor appears in start room from level 2 onwards
- Tutorial is skipped
- Ending is modified
- Saving disabled
- No NG+ (game returns to menu screen after clear)

4k support


Double size now also affects item descriptions and tooltips
(Settings -> Graphics -> Double UI size).

Effects


Updated some projectiles (guns, grappling hook).

Difficulty


Hard is slightly harder in NG+ (~10% bonus to speed, max health and healing taken).

Options


Added option to display score outside score attack (no leaderboards in this case).

Bugfix


Fixed bug with projectile lights continuing on after projectile ended.

Experienced - v1.1.7

Death Penalty


Changed experience loss on death to money loss (20% of current).
*This should be a healthier penalty as opposed to effectively losing power upon death (which will happen when learning the game). The player can now slowly gain experience by clearing rooms after dying against a boss. Might also give some incentive to check out the vendor and buy stuff before boss.*

Increased experience required for levels beyond 10.

UI


Updated network lobby UI with some tips. Steam invite section is disabled if the game can't find public IP (in which case IP connect should be used).

Effects


Added effects for gaining experience & gold.

Weapons: Added bows as a new weapon type.

Weapons


Shortbow (new)
Shoot:
- Basic attack which can be charged up for extra damage.
Rapid Fire:
- Shoot up to 5 times in quick succession.

Longbow (new)
Full Draw:
- Slow basic attack which can be charged up for huge damage.
Pinning Shot:
- A fast shot which interrupts and slows target.

Both bows drop in chapter 3 and can also be found on vendors.

UI


Local co-op: health and skill bars of p1 and p2 will no longer overlap (they are arranged slightly differently, and scale down on resolutions below 720p).

4k support: Added a setting for doubling UI scale.

Main Menu: game starting section is now slightly more sensible. Also updated email and replaced youtube link with ebonscalegames homepage.

File size


Reduced by about 30% by lowering size of textures. The changes shouldn’t be noticeable in game. (This is the reason for large patch size).

Balance


Bandit Stabber: nerfed a bit.

Model & Animation


New player animations for bows:

- Added “Return to Lobby” button for host. It brings all players to the lobby scene without disconnecting anyone.

Targeting Unleashed - v1.1.5

Summary


New options: Auto-targeting and click-to-move can be disabled and a few previously hardcoded keybinds can be changed in-game.

Options


These new options are in the ‘Controls’ section of settings menu.

Auto-targeting can now be disabled. When this mode is used:
- Keyboard: Abilities are targeted to mouse position.
- Gamepad: Right stick is used for targeting (and a targeting line is displayed). Camera zoom changes to Dpad Y-axis.
- Lock target button can still be used.

Click-to-move can be disabled.

Keyboard movement buttons can now be changed (to allow changing to WASD or some other setup).

Left mouse button is no longer hard-coded to click-to-move (so it can be used for attack for example).

Quick Help button can now be changed.

Gamepad


Improved UI navigation.

Tutorial


Minor changes to combat tutorial NPC behaviours.

Updated some texts and added a clearer indication for leaving the tutorial map.

Summary


Input: Right mouse button can now be used as keybind for any action.

Enchanted dashing: Dash now only triggers enchants if an enemy is hit. Replaced heal with absorb in possible enchants for boots.

Summary


Screenshake: increased at low levels, reduced at high levels.

K9 Sword: New wolf-themed sword with 2 secondary skill variations chosen by holding block. Both of them involve spinning.
