Hello everyone! As promised 1.0 was not the end of the developmenty cycle and im back with another update! Version 1.1 contains new Boss encounter, new legendary guns and additional armor set to enrich your endgame gameplay.
New guns
All the new guns are animated to make the legendaries stand out of the crowd of common and uncommon weapons and make it obvous to player, he/she looted something special. New guns can be found on datarealm bosses and chance to get one of them is definetly not super rare.
Railgun - was added as answer on Wurm Splinter as the game needed its kinetic slot counterpart. Lightning gun - its main purpose was to break dominance of Ikaros rifle and Wurm Splinter while bringing something new for the energy weapon slot. Hellblaster - is black horse of this update, raw bruteforce packaged with incendiary rounds.
Litany of Bones
New armor set that plays around deflect atribute and can be viable option for late endgame enhancing mainly your survivabilty, but in funny and playfull way instead of just boring stat boost. While adding some other offensive tricks that might surprise your enemies. Hope you will like it!

1.0 is here!
Hello everyone! It took me about a year and half of solo work on this project to finally deliver fully shaped incarnation of my initial vision. A vision of almost endless, fast, dynamic looter shooter with rpg-like development of your character, all of that watched from sidescrolling perspective.
Rain of Blood contnet
The transition from v.0.9 to 1.0 focused on polishing touches, fixing broken stuff and implementing some of your suggestions. Honestly, i don't remember all the stuff that was fixed or added, but ill try to answer this by a brief list.

I hope the release will be smooth as butter, but my primary task for first post-release week is to monitor community center, act as support and fix bugs you ll surely find as i don't like leaving day one issues for later. In the meantime, it's finally time for me to actually play the game and discover new opportunities for future expansions as I want to keep post-release updates up to "Tryzna" standards. In the meantime please feel free to post in the suggestion thread as I read and consider all of them!
Right now there is one major content update planned - Ruins of Cybercity and its release is planned for next month and few others are being considered, but future development will show the direction.

Hello everyone! It took bit longer than i expected, but its finally here! Last big update before version 1.0.
NEON GARDENS
Neon Gardens are new location/game mode you can access upon finding an item called "neon cube". Neon cubes can drop from any elite enemy(1% drop chance) or from turbolaser voidbots you can find by the huge crystal formations in any mission(10% drop chance).
When you got the cube you can use it in the same way as already familiar Datacubes.
Neon gardens are all about the race against time. It's fixed to 3 minutes and you want to do as much damage as possible to raise your score bar. Once the time is up, based on your score, your reward in the form of masterwork points is calculated and you can distribute the points and upgrade your currently equipped weapons.
In addition, upon completing the neon gardens mission, you are awarded a random piece of epic armor. Its nothing big, but players who are not into the endgame yet will surely appreciate this as Neon Gardens are accessible for players of all levels as I wanted to enrich the gameplay for everyone!;-)
MASTERWORK WEAPONS
Every weapon in the game has a masterwork level now(referenced as MW on the itemplate) and by applying the point to it you are raising its brutality and tech ratings by +20.
However, the is a catch! Applying masterwork point has success chance. It all depends on the difficulty level of Neon Gardens run you just completed. For example, completing NG lvl 5 will give you 100% success chance for weapons below MW5, once masterwork will outgrow difficulty of your run, success chance will decline by 10% for each level above it, stopping at minimum 5% success chance.
NEAR FUTURE
Within end of the month version 1.0 will be ready and released. It wont contain any big content additions and radical changes, but you can expect noticeable ammount of polishing touches, UI improvements, achivements and achivements rewards to make the game finally feel "completed". Big moves will come as a part of post release updates and expansions.

Hello everyone! Im back, and brought new update with me. Hope you ll like it as you liked all the previous one as this one brings something that can enjoy both new and veteran players. The Blackness portals!

The list is short this time and i had to cancel and postpone new guns for the next update as Blackness portals are last minute addition that required quite some testing to make sure everything works as intended. I could still add "something" to satisfy your loot hunger, but i did not wanted to add something i would not be happy with. In addition there is the new armor set so there is something you can hunt for.
Blackness Portals
Blackness dimension can be entered through blackness portal that is opened by killing gate guardian. Gate and its guardian can be spawned in any level/mission/environment. Right now the chance is not that rare as i want you to test this feature as much as possible before releasing version 1.0
What do you get for completing blackness portal? Greatly amplified your mission reward or if the mission reward you were running was item, it has its item level increased by +10.
Betrayer Set
Brand new set with new and interesting set bonuses. Head has about 10% drop chance if you kill Betrayer boss, Chest has decent chance to be crafted off any legendary schematics and gadget can be crafted from any scheme.
Thats it for 0.8! Hope you ll like it and forgive me any possible bugs that sliped through my checks as the game is growing pretty big and its harder and harder for me to test everything before release. Enjoy the game and let me know your impressions!

Hello everyone! Finally managed to properly playtest v0.75 and gave it a green light for public release. I hope you will enjoy new features and additions!
0.75 content
Complete rebalance of player abilities damage scaling. Now abilities are more than viable in the endgame and play important role.
Corpse explosion skill and related talents were replaced by Shurikens skill and shuriken related talents.
Ripper wurm boss added.
New armor items added.
First armor set was added along with internal system that enables set bonuses.
Ligthning storms added to weather generator.
Other minor stuff i dont remember about added or improved as well.
Abilities rescaling
Much needed adjustment as most of abilities was useless in mid to late game. Right now they feel about the same with fresh characters, but once you ll take your high level heroes equipped with datarealm gear, you ll notice huge difference as its total gamechanger.
Set items
First set(and necessary ingame system that is hidden from the players and took most of the time to make) finally made it in. Litany of Destruction can be completed to push limit of your character even further. Please note, this set is just first of "many" and more will follow with upcoming updates along with new environments, enemies and bosses.

New Bosses
Long requested addition is finally here. Sure, there are only two special bosses right now, but more will come. Each new encounter requires special approach as traditional jumping around wont work this time. Sure, dont expect something as complex as wow raid encounters, but i tried to do my best within technical possibilites of my platformer engine to spice things up a bit.
You can encounter new bosses in data realms above level 11, and basicaly any upgraded datacube gives you chance to encounter one of new monstrosities.
Navigator
All the final bosses have equal chance to be spawned at the end of the datarealm mission. Right now we have 3 bosses(each from base environments) + 2 Datarealm bosses and each have equal chance to be spawned.
However, if you are looking for specific loot, you can spend few void cores and force the encounter you want at the end of the mission.
This facility was added to make your grind toward specific items easier, and add another way how to spend your currencies.
Near future
Next update will finally focus on rebalancing character abilites and make them useful in the endgame as well, as some of them are bit lacking. Sure, there will be some more additions as well, but adding bit of the juice to core gameplay will be main focus of update 0.75.

Hello everyone! A bit delayed, but its finally here! Took some extra time, cause of personal life stuff happened again, but it have everything i wanted and even some more.

New datarealms
New datarealms were pushed forward to enrich gameplay a bit, sure these are not full new environments with its own set of enemies(yet), but mixing things up a bit different can create a new and fresh experience. For example rippers above ground in bigger than usual numbers with spores floating above their swarm can force the player to choose different approach, and that was the goal of this addition.
Legendary loot
Yes, the whole new weapon category is here and first true legendary armor as well. All of these can be crafted from a legendary blueprint/scheme or can be awarded from datarealms higher than lvl11.
Stalker changes
Changes done to stalker are just first step on towards the new task, to make using abilities more crucial and rewarding. All classes will be tuned a bit in the near future and even some of the less useful abilities will be replaced.
Started with the stalker as it suffered most from the issue of abilities not scaling well with game difficulty. Started with blood harvest, which can now be used as self-healing ability even on the highest difficulties and in addition holotargeting can now be used to aim heavy weapons.
Near future
The next update will be delayed by one week couse of family reasons. To keep this short, my wife can not move her legs again, doctors dont want to help and I'm stuck with a little daughter and crying wife at home, not able to go to work and earn money(at least I can say im professional gamedev since its only source of income now;-)). As you can imagine its not a great environment to think straight and focus on developing game. That's why i need some free time till the end of the week and works on update 0.7 will start on Monday. Sorry for breaking my promise of delivering an update every two weeks, but I hope you will understand my situation and won't be disappointed.
Given current circumstances, I don't want to promise content of 0.7, but would love to focus on even more loot that brings new mechanics to the game as working on bows was fun and I think they are an interesting option. In addition game needs even more ways you can spend credits and other currencies as well, so you can expect some more base additions as well.

Hello everyone! What a week! Sure, it took two weeks to push this update, but the last one was really busy as I did not realize what I have promised while writing the last announcement and promising update containing endgame mode within two weeks.
However here we are! Shame its just very first iteration of the endgame mode as even taking days off work to stay home and work on the update was not enough to include more than that.
DATAREALMS
For completing 3 mythos missions, you'll receive Datacube as a part of your reward chest. Datacubes are then used to open Dataportal and override max difficulty. Datacubes from reward chests always come at lvl 11, however, they can be upgraded.
By talking to inquisitor in the middle of the base you pick which datacube he has to use to open portal for you. Once sucked in you race against the time and once you complete your objective(kill all), datarealm boss is spawned. For now the bosses are just variations on existing commanders, however, they are much tougher. After a boss defeat, you are given your reward, and if you managed to kill that sucker in time, datacube you used to open the portal is upgraded to a higher level.
Why would you want to upgrade datacubes and rung higher level portals? Couse higher level portal means higher item level cap for loot. (more about formulas for calculating item level next time).
Future of the datarealms
Sadly I did not managed to push more of the content into the update, but we are still 0.4 worth of updates till full release and most of that will focus on datarealms.
You can expect more world randomization, new decorations, backgrounds and terrain variations. Unique datarealm bosses, more events, more unique loot and much more I would like to keep secret for now.
New guns
As a little extra for 0.6 update, I managed to include two new guns and both of them can be dropped by datarealm bosses only. I won't tell you what these new guns are(like surprises right?), but as if you are fans of classic PC shooters you will recognize both of them as soon as you spot them. Once they drop, don't forget to post us screen on to community center!;-)
Thats it for now! Hope this new update will give you a taste of my plans with the game and will bring additional couple of hours till you hit the datarealm difficulty ceiling. But you won't have to worry forever, new upadates are coming along with many new ways on how to obliterate the heretics!

Hello everyone! I know, it took some time, but as promised: two weeks = new update!;-) This one was really tough, as real-life interference was much stronger than usual(more about that below if you are interested) but here we are, update 0.55 is live!

It does not look like much, as I wanted to add a bit more, especially new mission objectives, but everything I came up with was better to keep for endgame mode as boss fight and instead of pushing something forward on last minute, I decide to fix and polish existing stuff. With update v0.55 released, the base game is almost done, sure there will be further updates for this "early" or "leveling" part of the game, but right now my focus is directed elsewhere.
Near future
The next update will contain the first version of "endgame" mode. I won't talk it in detail right now(have to keep something for next announcement;-)), but its the part of the game, where the real game begins. Sure, the first iteration will be really short on additional content and rewards, but we ll get there sooner than later and even its initial form should entertain you for more than a couple of hours.
Against all odds
If Dreadborne drifters is not your first game made by myself, you probably know I tend to add a bit of personal info into most of the announcements. If you are not interested in this, please, skip ahead and go play that game:-)
The past two weeks were really filled with events, (some funnier than others) that kept me distracting from the game. The first one was really entertaining as workers found the US ww2 incendiary bomb near my house. After shutting down all the traffic to my district and closing the main road i had to get home from work on foot. I don't mind walking for a couple of hours, but if you have tight schedule and you want to work on update on the game, it really pisses you off. In addition when i finally got home, police started with evacuation of citizens going house from house commanding everyone to leave. Sure i told them to f**k off, as i live in a house made from concrete and steel with windows in the opposite side than the bomb was. After couple of more hours, the bomb was defused, counter-terrorists won and ppl started returning home. It would be a funny story but it cost me one day of development time, as its hard to do anything if you have policemen knocking at your doors multiple times per hour.
Just a couple of days later we had plumbing accident flooding neighbor living beneath us. Again, a ton of fun!
And just a cherry on top of the cake was Tuesday. My wife and daughter were planning to go to Greece for vacation and i was counting with basically free week i wanted to spend working on the update, while having a chill time. They left for Prague airport just after the lunchtime and a couple of hours later i arrived home from work. I already had a bottle of Fanta cooling in the fridge, put ashtray next to my keyboard, had a quick shower, started game maker and opened the project, opened that Fanta bottle, lighted up first cigarette and then, the phone was ringing. I thought, ok, they should be boarding the plane right now, so they probably to say hello, everything is ok, we ll call you when we get there.
Instead!! I heard my wife crying she forgot her ID at home and she can not board the plane without it... BAM, my whole week schedule is gone, money for holiday gone, my wife and two years old daughter stuck at the airport with no option on how to get home, as she went there with her parents and they were already sitting in the plane along with keys for the car.
What a wonderful day that was! Spent rest of the day going to Prague(took me 45 minutes, don't know what they were doing it took them 3 hours to get there) and back while listening to crying wife(we never had a lot of money, so blasted holiday was devastating hit for her)! XD
Great two weeks right? I wonder what else will happen until version 1.0, but it started just great!:-)

Hello everyone! Even the start of Dreadborne Drifters Early Access was the smoothest of my releases, it was not withou issues. Sure, it was without gamebreaking hickups, but still, some annoying bugs and glitches were found and i would like to say thank you for reporting them.

Near Future
Right now, my focus lies in enhancing mid to late game bofere we move further and start with endgame mode. In addition, update should be here within two weeks.
